This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Good morning.
I'm looking back on a very productive weekend, and into the jaws of what has the makings of an incredibly long and hectic Monday. If the buzz over the new boutique is any indication, it will be an 11 hr. work day for me. DH has promised he'll handle supper tonight.
I can't wait to tell you all about it!

Good morning Nancy - can't wait to hear more about opening day!
I skimmed through CAT news from the weekend. So good to hear from so many. Wish I had more energy and time to spend here today but I must dash.
My brief update: Puppy is good and growing. Mom has her new Chromebook so she's able to get caught up with everything. DH continues to be busy with his work and teaching I'm way too busy for my liking - these busy seasons are not as fun as they used to be and perhaps that's a sign to START to think about switching to a less stressful and responsible position.
Hugs to all! Have a great day everyone!!!!

Good morning, Long and Lovelies!!!
It is chilly here this morning, but supposed to get up to 76F today - quite the swing, as it is 50F now.
I suppose the city is getting ready for all of the Super Bowl hype, but we are looking to avoid it. Should be interesting to see what local footage they air.....
The weekend was busy, but good. Celebrated DSS's 15th birthday - he liked the cake and the presents. I would have liked a thank you, but he seemed to like it. For whatever reason, he just got under my skin this weekend....I supposed that is going to happen at times. On the flip side, DSD played "Moonlight Sonata" for me on her keyboard - she has been practicing it because she knows I like it. Brought tears to my eyes....
DH, DS and I went to see "A Dog's Purpose" last night. We all soooooo loved it!!!! DS declared it his new favorite movie. So sweet.
Anne, thanks for the cookbook/website ideas - I will have to check it out.
T, yes, I definitely feel like a panini some days. Definitely a hot mess in the middle!!!
Nancy, the work at the boutique sounds fun! I don't think I realized - is it a bridal boutique? Or formal wear?
Andrea - glad to hear all is going well!
Has Karla been around?
Frieda - so great to hear from you, even if it is briefly. I hope things are stabilizing a bit.
Linda, I chuckled at your stroller/walker comment. So funny! Saying prayer for your DH and kicking his habit. And for you, to be strong through it!
Shari, the wedding looked wonderful! Did the bride eventually calm down, or did everyone just survive?
I feel bad....I know there is more, but I am drawing a blank as I am tired. I see a nap in my future. Hugs to all.....I will check in later. Aloha!

Hello CATS! Stopping in this fine Monday. Things are moving along at work. I even left the house 1/2 hour early to do a Walmart run before work. I don't get to run errands at lunch anymore because I'm no longer near anything. Thankfully we have a nice breakroom. We do order from somewhere every Friday & someone makes a run for it. My snowmobiling was a disaster. I haven't gone around here in 12 years. I was with a group of 12 go getters who wanted to run at 90. It was unsafe & scary. After 4 hours of running behind everyone I pulled over & started sobbing. Luckily DH was behind me. He led the way after that & we arrived home at 8 pm. I told our friends I'm canceling my plans to go north next weekend. I'm done. I'm not riding for a long long time. It just sucked. No fun at all. Our new 5th wheel is in. It's super tall & very nice. I got to pick out the décor and they built it. I think we are really going to enjoy it. DH & I will go over tonight to check it out & then this week we will start stocking it. We had to store everything in the basement for the last few months. I found the source of my 8 year back pain. I saw my family doctor last week and he explained it's the sacroiliac joint. Probably arthritis. He gave me some stretches to do & I'm so thrilled that they are working. I woke up this am with no pain! It's awesome.
Frieda- sending hugs your way. I wish I could help. All I can say is I've been there. It was one of the worst times in my life. It's true what they say- "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Hang in there.
Nancy- the new shop sounds divine. I knew someone in my town he had quite a successful shop like that. She was able to hire folks to run it for her and she had lots of free time.
Anne- nice to see you check in. Enjoy the cooler temps.
Mcat- I used to joke that someone had to be on my s...list. It's best to look at the positives when they are driving you nuts. Glad you enjoyed DSD & the movie.
T- one donut isn't the end of the world. I'm glad you got some self care in over the weekend & got some good rest.
Martha- what do you want to do now? Have you thought about some work from home jobs? Maybe even starting up a daycare of your own or a cleaning service. I know it's not what you did before but it might be fun to do something different.
Linda- I wish my DH would quit. Is your DH using the patch? Sending good wishes for success.
Have a terrific day ladies.

I'm starting my day slowly today, purposely. The exercise yesterday equals aches & crunchy feelings. I will go for a walk after lunch. I'll make it a 2 miler today. I don't want a work from home job. Too many distractions. After working at school, last year, I don't want to work with kids. I want to snuggle and hug the kids. And you can't do that now without getting in trouble. Nancy - Glad that DH will take care of dinner tonight. Hoping your day goes well. Love the pics of DGS. Andrea - Glad to hear puppy doing well. Good luck on cutting back on outside obligations. Missy - Great news re: DSD. How has she been doing healthwise? Frieda - Sending (((hugs))). Melinda - Sorry others weren't being safe. With that behavior, I would have cancelled out on the next outing. Could you find out which outings the idiots are not attending and go on those? Glad you found out the reason for back pain. Your new 5th wheel sounds nice. Will you take it on a maiden voyage to test it out before major use? Hope all have a great day! Martha ps - might help if I had hit send button.

Just checking in to see who has stopped by. N: Cannot wait for the opening day details! I was going to write personals to everyone, but I just don't have it in me. Glad to hear that movie was good. I just finished the book and cried through it. I didn't want to go to a heartbreaker of a movie. But I'll take your word that it is good. Perhaps this weekend? Have a good night. Thanks for the thoughts. also a prayer that this ends SOON.

Oh, girls; thank you so much for the good wishes. It was a long day but we were able to complete everything we needed.
Missy; it's a fine consignment boutique, and yes, we do take formal wear. We had several girls in, trying on dresses! We didn't sell any dresses, but did move other clothing, bags, and shoes.
Melinda; it was a situation very much like yours that soured me against snowmobiling. The speed, the jumping big drifts in ditches, you name it. I hated it.
Martha; awww, you saw the Grands! We had a lot of fun with them this weekend.
Andrea, I love that new pup of yours. She's a beauty.
And my dear Frieda; there will be a CAT celebration when all of this is finally settled for you. And yes, may it be soon. ((HUGS))
T has a parent conference tonight, I believe...?
My first purchase at the boutique is a navy Kate Spade bag; classic and versatile. I love it!
I'm going with DD tomorrow for Three's Dr.'s appt., followed by a Target run.
