nashville11, glad your mom is ok. My grandmother fell several times in her nursing home, tried to run away(not really, she had dementia pretty bad and was going out to "wait for a ride"). A lot of hers was exacerbated when she had a bladder infection, she'd get a lot worse.

Thanks lani, and DotRen, for your concern about my mom. It could have been much worse, and I am thankful it wasn't.

Sorry Joyce about your Mom. My mom didn't have any falls, but she also slept a lot & really didn't care about moving much when she was awake. When my mom was in nursing home here, she had so many UTI. When we moved her to a different NH, she never had another one. So, I wonder, if in some cases it comes down to staff & personal care for the patient. .

Thanks Linda! Yes, staff makes a big difference. So far I have been pleased with the care both my mom and dad are receiving. It's certainly not perfect, but they are getting good care. My mom had numerous UTIs when she was at assisted living, but thus far she has not had one here at the NH although I understand that in either stage 5 or stage 6 (forgot which one) of Alzheimer's UTIs become more and more common. My mom, I would say from what I read as doctor won't specify stages, is in Stage 6. I am grateful she didn't have a broken bone, as in the past she's had a broken nose, broken back, and broken shoulder. My dad's had a broken hip and a shattered elbow. Getting old can really suck, and there comes a time when there is just no more quality of life yet the body still fights on.

The JA is in Europe, and it's a strange day when the President of the US takes a harder stance against our long time European allies than he does against Russia. Ronald Reagan must be rolling in his grave. While I never saw what was so great about Reagan, I think he was an average president, but Republicans for years now have held him up as some kind of saint. Now everything he seems to have stood for is being thrown out the window by this JA, and yet those same Republicans are standing on the sidelines cheering the JA forward. What happened to all that reverence they had for Reagan?

I was watching some news show, it might have been Rachel Maddow and it was brought up that when Kavanaugh went through his confirmation hearing for the lifetime position he is in now, some of the Senators (afterwards) felt they had been lied to. Those Senators are still on the judicial review committee so it will be interesting to see if all of this is brought up. This is what I could find about that:

Very interesting article luanne,! Of course, Sessions lied multiple times under oath, and he's still our Attorney General. So while this will definitely give Democrats ammunition, I don't know that Republicans will pay much attention to it. The JA lies many, many times on a daily basis, and none of them seem to care a whit about that. The hypocrisy of the Republicans surrounding their blind acceptance of this administration just grows deeper and murkier every day. Maybe independents will stand up and take notice though. That's probably the best we can hope for.

Good morning everyone and Happy Thursday! As usual, the week is flying by. I think the time seems to go faster now than it did before I retired. It must be an age thing! LOL! Nothing really new in the news as I scanned it this morning. The JA is still being belligerent with our allies and still embarrassing us all with his crass, egotistical, uncouth attitude toward other leaders in the world. Judging from the body language he made John Kelly and Kay Bailey-Hutchinson both pretty uncomfortable at the NATO meeting as well. They both looked like they wanted to crawl under the table rather than sit with him. London seems to be preparing for him with balloons and songs. Yet, he says they really like him a lot in England, and once again made the comment to a reporter that he is a "very stable genius." Ever notice how people who actually have something they could brag about never do, but the ones who are absolute losers are always trying to tell you how special they are? I'll be packing today, visiting my mom and dad, being a chauffeur for DGS, and taking my computer to leave with the Geek Squad. It's running very slowly which drives me nuts. Of course, this morning it is running better than it has in weeks. Figures doesn't it?! I expect to be back sometime Tuesday, so if someone else could get our thread up and going on Monday for the new week that would be good.

Joyce, have a safe & fun trip. I hope you can relax & enjoy without totally worrying about your Parents. Your DD is there, so, just step away from the responsibility for a day or so of worry. Hard, I know, but you need it.
For sure, what comes out of JA mouth is so contrary to what others said & did in Brussels. I see NK did not show up for a meeting with US officials at the DMZ. Yup, JA sure showed NK who's boss....LOL..They are playing him like a fiddle & he's too dang dumb to know it. Well, maybe he does but just listens to the voice in his head telling him how great he is & his base sucks it up. The same thing will happen with Putin.

Well, maybe he does but just listens to the voice in his head telling him how great he is & his base sucks it up. The same thing will happen with Putin. Yep, Linda, he is totally oblivious to the truth and only listens to that voice in his head. NK is laughing at him and how gullible he is. Last night I heard someone trying to spin things that NK hadn't launched any missile tests lately and that was because of the meeting JA had with them. Duh!!! They had stopped testing missiles long before that meeting announcing that they had no more need to test at this point because they had achieved their goal. The JA had absolutely nothing to do with that, and he's made us all look like idiots. Of course when you get paid to spin for the JA you've got to try and come up with some excuse no matter how implausible it is.
Everyday since the JA was sworn into office has been like Christmas morning for Putin. He couldn't have possibly gotten a better toy to play with than this JA puppet. Every single thing he has done since he became President has benefited Putin in one way or another. Unfortunately it looks like Khrushchev may have been right when he said, "“We will take America without firing a shot. We do not have to invade the U.S.-We will destroy you from within...” and the whole Republican party seems to be cheering it on.

Raise your hand if you give a darn that Stormy Daniels was arrested. Yeah, me either. Why is this national news?

Well, if a Stormy Daniels was arrested because of political motives & charges were made to fit that scenerio, then, we should all care. Because if it happens to one it could happen to all. Is she a porn star... yes. Is she cashing in on 15 minutes of fame...could be. Poor judgement on her part if she did indeed break some " touching rule" , you bet! But, JA doesn't get a pass from me for his involvement with Daniels regardless of her status, So, IMHO, I kind of do care what the motive was for her arrest. Is it intimidation to hinder her testimony about JA? If it is, then that's not right.

From what I'm reading, she did touch and allow herself to be touched, which breaks the law. She also doesn't get a pass just because of who she is, if that's the case.
