This is a conservative thread to allow those with conservative views to express themselves. We welcome Republicans, Tea Party folks, and those who believe in the Constitution as written, not as interpreted by liberal judges. If you have liberal views we invite you to participate in a civil and respectful conversation. We would respectfully request that if you cannot post in a respectful and civil manner to refrain from doing so until you can. Good discussions are great - insulting arguments are not. We welcome discussions about our weight loss journey.

Does anyone remember any massive protests after Bill Clinton's State of the Union Address in 1995? This is just too funny. And the immigration problem was nowhere near the out of control status it is now. www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3yesvvYEvsIt is very similar to President Trump's views. Lin

One more thing. Back in 2013, ABC news had an exclusive story about how in 2011, Obama quietly suspended the Iraqi refugee program for 6 months. But nobody reported on it until 2013??? I don't remember anyone going out and rioting or trying to shut down airports. What an outrage.....so much for transparency, right? "As a result of the Kentucky case, the State Department stopped processing Iraq refugees for six months in 2011, federal officials told ABC News – even for many who had heroically helped U.S. forces as interpreters and intelligence assets. One Iraqi who had aided American troops was assassinated before his refugee application could be processed, because of the immigration delays, two U.S. officials said." Here is the whole story: abcnews.go.com/Blotter/al-qaeda-kentucky-us-dozens-terrorists-country-refugees/story?id=20931131So why is President Trump getting demonized for essentially doing the same thing? The answer is simple - because he is a conservative, or more accurately populist, Republican. Liberal Democrats get a pass; Republicans get demonized.

The Democrats are hypocrites. It is already the law in this country that immigrants have to go through a check before they are given a visa and allowed to enter the country. I went through this process so I know. I was investigated and also members of my family. I lived in Kent in England at that time and I had to spend 2 days in London being interviewed at the American Embassy. The problem has been that those laws somehow have not been enforced. So many people are here illegally. People from other countries come here on a visitors visa but do not return to their own country when the date on the visa expires. I have friends who are from the Netherlands, they were on a waiting list for 7 years to get visas to come here to live permanently. They are now US citizens. They did everything legally.
We have lots of laws that have not been enforced and we have become a lawless country in many ways. President Trump has put a temporary ban on visas until he establishes a good system to check the backgrounds of those people wanting to enter this country. I don't see anything wrong with that.
Most of the people out protesting don't have a clue what they are protesting about.
Lin, I did view the UTube video about the Clintons. Like I said they are hypocrites. Thanks for sharing.

Obama is not wasting any time he has just stated that " he is heartened by the resistance to President " He has only been out of office one week and he is out the there leading the disobedience like a cheer leader. I just knew he would be a rabble rouser when he left office. He is bad news.

I knew Obama wouldn't keep his big mouth shut for long. Yes, he will be a total rabble-rouser from here on out. It is too bad he has the following he has worshiping his every word. I expect Hilary to do the same any day now. We have a very desperate radical left wing movement in this country that is unprecedented but totally predicted in scripture.

I don't believe for very long if at all. The Democrats invoked the nuclear option forcing a vote on their nominees; the Republicans can, and probably will, do the same.
I am not an assertive person at all, but I got brave today. My neighbor across the street has visitors who park in the street which makes it very difficult for me to get in and out of my driveway. I saw her at the mailbox today and mentioned it to her and asked if she could have her visitors park in the open lot next to her house instead of the street. She was gracious about it, so hopefully I won't have that problem any more, but if I do I will take it to the office. There is a park rule against parking on the street anyway. My next challenge is to get my next door neighbor to stop dumping raw left over vegetables and such on the ground between our houses. I am sure it attracts all kinds of varmints, including the gophers which have dug holes in my yard.

I hope they envoke NO if they need to. This amin needs to go full steam ahead. We only have 2 years to undo as much damage as possible, as that will affect the outcome of the two year election. Of course they will make errors as all presidents will, but learn from them and go on. If we lose in 4 years, at least they went down fighting.
For me, I am most concerned about economy and of course national security. If the economy doesn't pick up, there will be no money to pay for anything, not even national security.
I am sure the next terrorist attack will be all DTs fault, regardless of the many that happened on BOs watch. I am in constant prayer that we don't have one. One thing I am trying to do is, research as much as I can on legitimate stories, and not even read stuff from the usual liars.
DT wasn't my first or even second choice, but he was sure better than HC.

Hi all,
It is sure a big deal what President Trump is doing, funniest thing is they sure now coming with laws that show that he is doing nothing wrong. Bet that is driving people nuts.
We have one guy at work that is from China, he has to go back once a year to talk to them, so I am hoping that he has no problems coming back in. He seems to be one of those people that will follow what he is to do. I know that some of our people have been talking to him to find out when he can come back. He was to be back at work next Monday I just hope he is. He came to school here in the US and then got a job. I know he is not from any of those countries so don't see a problem.
After saying all that, I still back our President . The US has to come first

Oh man, pigs for neighbors is the worst. We had a family of them for about 6 months. It was awful. They finally got evicted, just after the 20 something living there got arrested. I was never so glad to see folks leave. They had to gut the house and redo it. I talked to one of the contractors and he said there was actually dog feces all over the floor. They had to rip up the floors and put new ones in.
The folks that bought the renovated house are great. I hope we don't have to go through that again. I was ready to sell out to the highest bidder and leave.

And then there's this:
WASHINGTON — Acting Attorney General Sally Q. Yates, a holdover from the Obama administration, ordered the Justice Department on Monday not to defend President Trump’s executive order on immigration in court.
Just heard on Tucker Carlson's show that Sally Yates has been fired by President Trump!!!! I jumped up and down with joy!!! Way to go, Trump!!

I don't come here often but I had to say this. Back when bo was elected I was very unhappy with the election results. BO was NOT qualified to be pres and had had only a very short time in the senate for experience and from what I saw in the campaign he was an idiot.. On the old ww board I stated my opinion and was told that even if I didn't like hiim I had to be respectful if only to the "office of the president". Now the very same people that told me that are actually the ones disrespecting the office of the president and our new president. Like him or not, he is our president. If they don't want the country to be in deep trouble they need to give up all the rabble rousing and start working toward a good country for us all.If THEY destroy the country they'll never take the blame, they'll blame it on the new administration. How is standing around all day complaining and protesting helping anything. Gary's right though...it is Biblical all that's going on...from disrespect of government to tolerance of all kinds of behavior. I wan't say more and those that have their minds set are never going to change so why bother. We can vent our frustration to one another but that's about it because we can't change set minds or hardened hearts. All we can do is pray for our country and for the futures of our grandchildren. No matter what God is still in charge. He won't be a puppet master but He still has control and He knows the future.

The Democrats in the Senate are holding up hearings nit picking they need to stop and vote the nominees up or down and stop playing games. They did say they were going to give President Trumps nominees a hard time. I guess when they announce who he has chosen for the Supreme Court all hell will break out and you know they will stand in the way again. Don't they realize that is why people are angry and why they have lost so much power because they obstruct every chance they get. Don't they realize that people are really fed up with this kind of behavior.
Ruth, I don't think the Left is going to give up rabble rousing because Obama is right there encouraging them and I don't think he is going anywhere. I hope as the economy gets better and more people get full time jobs that people will settle down. Though there will always be people who want to get out and protest.
I am just happy that President Trump is enforcing the laws that have been ignored by past administrations. We don't need new laws we already have laws they just need to be enforced.
Lin, isn't it wonderful that we can go to UTube and check out what the Democrants have said in the past.
