Note to JA: When you are the person they play "Hail to the Chief" for, you don't get to publicly voice "personal opinions". Heck! Bush 41 couldn't even get by with saying he didn't like broccoli. Certainly you don't get to say to your Attorney General that an investigation into your conduct as well as foreign government tampering with our election should be ended "right now." And when you do that, you don't get to have your flunky SHS try to clean it up by saying you were just voicing an opinion. Our country is NOT your private corporation.

I just saw a segment on PBS about QAnon, a conspiracy theory to end all conspiracy theories. I'm not techie enough to provide links, but google it and check it out. OMG.
Folks were holding up QAnon signs at Trump's most recent rally.

Folks were holding up QAnon signs at Trump's most recent rally. Oh my gosh, Lani! I did just Google that as you suggested. These people are really nuts! They are allowing themselves to be manipulated by someone into believing the most ridiculous things. They are deplorable, they are crazy, but the scary thing is that they are out there at all and evidently the movement is growing. As if we weren't far enough down the sewer already, now this cult starts spreading its tentacles around. Scary stuff indeed! Not the conspiracy theories because those are ridiculous, but the people who are stupid enough to fall for them.

lani , That sh!t is insane! *shaking head* But he really thinks that it is.......................and nutin and no one will convince him differently.
Read the article in the NYT about QAnon......reminds me of the nut job that went by the name on the internet of Slenderman.
I think Trump and his followers in Fla are as screwy as they come.

Well written opinion:
"To paraphrase the poem written by the late Martin Niemoller, “Then they came for the children and we finally spoke up.”
The leader of the free world has come for pretty much everything that wasn’t created in his image. He has come for immigrants, women, people of color, Muslims, decency, the rule of law and now he has come for our republic.
Make no mistake about it. He disagrees with the core principle upon which this country was founded. To the leader of the free world, all men are not created equal.
The next supporter I hear say they made a mistake in voting for this man will be the first. I have given up trying to understand what, exactly, they are supporting.
Ronald Reagan said, “Simple-minded appeasement or wishful thinking about our adversaries is folly…”
The hero of the right warned us about this traitor who occupies the Oval Office and yet his acolytes continue to carry the traitor’s water and excuse his psychosis.
I pray that if Niemoller were to write his poem today, it would end with: “We came for the Emperor, the Savior, the Dictator and the God and those protecting him let us have him.”

Maybe it's just me, and this is anyone not just the Pres: it irritates me when you hear that the prosecution (or whatever they're called, but prosecutor seems to fit) has to submit a list of questions to get "approval" from the person who is suspected of wrong doing. Why? Sorry but: answer any damned question they have. If you did something wrong, or are a suspect in a crime, you shouldn't get to call the shots.

Hi Anne! Good to see you too! Yes, it's been a long time. Who would have ever imagined the mess this country is in, and in so little time. I will drop by again.

The Pope is coming out against the death penalty. I don't know how each of you feel about capital punishment, but for me it is a difficult issue. I feel torn. On one hand, I think there are some crimes that are so heinous they deserve the death penalty. On the other hand, it is state sanctified murder and that doesn't sit well with my conscience. So I find myself on the fence, not a position where I like to be. Imprisonment for life is something that I feel much more comfortable with, but then in those heinous cases it needs to be actually for life and not out on parole after serving a portion of the sentence. And it needs to not come with "perks", but actually be stiff punishment. I've never had to serve on a jury, and hopefully never will. If I do, I hope it will not be that kind of case. Life is filled with complicated issues . . . I don't understand people who only see life in black and white. For me, there are almost always a lot of gray areas.
