I really do feel sorry for the people like the Veteran who gave the Dump-meister his purple heart. The Vet wanted to give the most valued thing he had to someone he believed in and admired.
All done with good intent but the idol has feet of clay, that is so very very sad.

That slime ball could have told the Vet how much he appreciated it, what an honor it would be to have it, and then hand it back to the person that earned it! I remember when I saw that. Honestly, it made me sick inside. Sick because the Vet would even think of handing it over, and sicker because the slime ball gladly accepted it! But, please don't get me started...

All done with good intent but the idol has feet of clay, that is so very very sad. Yes, that was sad. I feel bad for that vet too. The gesture was totally lost on DT, who cared nothing at all about the man's sacrifice. Meanwhile in the good news of the day category . . . I DID get all my Christmas grocery shopping done and put away on the shelves. Now if the Christmas fairy would just show up and cook it all for me things would really be looking good. Speaking of the Christmas fairy reminds me of a DGD story. They have Elf on the Shelf at their house watching them daily from Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve. If you're familiar with Elf on the Shelf, you know that the one rule is that you can NEVER touch the elf or else it loses it's magic. One morning recently DGD accidentally knocked over the Elf!! She was absolutely distraught with grief because she was convinced that Santa would never come to see her again. Of course, big brother was in horror that she had done such a terrible thing as well. So a family conference was held as all were trying to rush out the door to work and school. It was decided that Santa would understand that it had been an accident and not hold it against poor DGD. But, how could they put the elf back upright without destroying his magic? Simple solution! Mommy would pick him up and set him right with a pot holder over her hand. That way she would not actually be touching the elf, so his magic would not be destroyed. If only we could solve the presidential problem so easily . . .

Am trying to download a picture to this site. Not having much luck! So now I'm trying to download one of my own photos...
Ah-ha!! It worked. This one is for you, birdgal ! A raven photo taken in the Grand Canyon. They are not as big as the ravens at the Tower of London though (I have photos of those but they were 'pre-digital'.
