This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it

Good morning
DotRen, I feel your pain regarding the mouse. I get them usually a couple times a year. This past round I killed 4....ugh. My neighbor killed 6. They get into everything here. I think I still have one in my outdoor grill. I'm afraid to check.
Waving to all. I'm still hanging in there.

Good morning and Happy August! sunrose49, we toss a poison called "one last bite" in the garage, but I really don't like to poison anything. Aside from the obvious suffering the mouse goes through, the chance that they could be eaten by a cat or dog or whatever before the poison is inactive worries me a lot. At least with a good strong, old fashioned trap it's over quickly for them. It still bothers me though lol.

Hello Everyone - - Hope you are all doing well sunrose - Thanks for starting our August thread. Summer is going by quickly. DotRen - Sorry to hear about your mouse problems, hope you can get them all out of there. Today is my first day of getting back on track. I've been eating so much junk and high sugar food for weeks now it was almost making me feel sick. I'm glad to get back to focusing on eating healthy. I didn't weigh myself or take my measurements because I know I've gained a lot of weight and I'm concerned that seeing a number will cause me to feel defeated. I don't want to be ruled by numbers or use that as the only way to define success. So I'm going to be successful by eating right every day, tracking my food and getting in my exercise and water. Then I may weigh or measure myself in a month, I'll see how I feel then. I plan to come here every day to post so I can be accountable for staying on track and on my plan. I'm double counting calories and original points for right now and I'll see how that works.

Good morning! I decided to try a new brand of hair color today: Clairol Natural Instincts. My hair grows fast, so I get about 3 weeks usually before the gray at the roots starts to grow out enough to bug me lol. I don't have a lot of expectations for this particular one, since it was only a 10 minute wait time. I left it on for 15 but we'll see. My dh says "just go gray" but I could contend with Casper the friendly ghost for paleness, so gray would make me look awful lol.

Good morning
DotRen, I'm with you on the poison. My neighbor does that. I worry about my dog eating the mouse so I don't use it, but she is a scientist and says there is not enough poison in the mouse to hurt the dog. The traps have been cruel a couple times by not totally killing the mouse. I've tried the friendly stuff too, but....
cj59, you have a great plan in place. I'm with you regarding the number on the scale. Starting Tuesday I am going to try something new (well I have done it before and lost 20 pounds). It's called Ideal Protein. I just need to do something different. I just keep gaining weight. I'll keep you posted.
Waving and sending skinny vibes to all

Hello Everyone DotRen - I hope you like the new hair color. I think I lucked out with my gray hair. I quit coloring it years ago and people say the color of it now looks good. I don't really like it myself, but I guess it isn't that bad if I get compliments sunrose - I've heard of that program and I hope it's successful for you. I think we all need to try different things along the way. I guess some are lucky and can stick with the same thing, and I hoped I was one of them but I'm not. I'm doing pretty well. It helps that I removed pretty much all the junk food from the house before yesterday, so there isn't much I can binge on. I'm trying to stick to around 1300 calories a day. I might do one day with a higher amount. I could never figure out why some people ate basically the same foods all the time, but I can see that it makes it easier to have less choices. I hope I can continue to stick to my plan. Right now I just set August as a goal to stay on track, and then hopefully if I'm successful at that I'll make September my goal. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans

i changed to online today.I was going to do meetings but that is so stressful for me. I start tomorrow.. Today I ate food that was not good to eat. I feel so full. Meetings are too much pressure to get up early Saturday morning too early and I want privacy. I have a good plan and will go food shopping tomorrow. I will start my week on Fridays the day I shop for food. plus I just ordered from QVC a under desk elliptical in 6 easy payments of 32. I save 25 dollars by choosing online so thats what I will do.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today amyrs - Welcome to the thread. It sounds like you have a good plan in place to start again, I wish you the best. sunrose - I'll look forward to hearing about your new weight loss program, good luck with it. Maybe trying something different will help. I'm on Day 3 back on track and was having more feelings about not wanting to do it. But I'm fighting them and working to stay on track. I did a have a few light bulb moments. One of them was that it feels "freeing" to not have a weigh in day coming up on Monday. I used to always worry about the food I was eating on Saturday and Sunday and I realized today that I can just eat on plan and not worry about lower calorie/point foods. It's just a nice feeling not to worry about what number will be on the scale Monday morning. I do know that I will need to weigh again and I want to, but not weighing right now is really helping me to not feel like a failure. Another realization is that I've been feeling real physical hunger these past several days. I rarely feel that. I'd gotten into this mode of eating almost constantly from about noontime until 7:00 P.M. It was just crazy and I'm really trying to break myself from that. I do make sure to have water and other zero point drinks between meals to help me, but I need to learn to spend several hours between eating food. I think this is only a problem for me because I'm home all day alone. I never was like this when I was working and I'm not when I'm out all day. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hello everyone! cj59 Great work on those realizations! Congratulations on day 3! sunrose49, I'm fascinated by this new weight loss program. I await the details! amyrs, The elliptical sounds very cool! I lost 15 lbs online before I ever went to a meeting. It's good to get in a groove. Good luck! DotRen, I think beauty regimens are great for weight loss! I bought some new makeup today and I attribute having a homemade smoothie instead of a heaping bowl of ice cream this afternoon to that. I hope the new brand works out! I have been a little off since my 5 year old started "Kindergarten Camp" the beginning of this week. It's a prep thing to get the parents and the kids used to the drop off/pick up routine, as well as the kids getting used to the classroom with a shorter day, and the parents also get some information at the meeting. He loved it but it still took a toll on him with the stress of a new school, new kids, new teacher, so he was very emotional in the evenings, crying, getting irrationally angry (both of which are very atypical for my sweet easy-going little guy). I took it in stride, but I definitely wasn't worrying about points. So I am hoping for a maintain this week. But no need to wait for the WI, I'm tracking again today! Good luck to all of you!

I ended up liking the color. Unfortunately, I have medium brown hair that turns red really easily lol -so it looks redish now, it will calm down after a few washes though.

Good morning. I love my plan. I was too sleepy to go to WW Saturdays. So I am doing it online. I have to get to the Health rider. And can hardly wait for the sitting elliptical. I am getting 22 points. My ankle is cured from the sprain three weeks ago.

I am ecstatic I called spectrum because I wanted to drop my 85 dollar tv service. They have a plan for 30 dollars. You pick 10 of your favorite channel sand they have 20 more they give you. . You can still use the cable box. I still have internet and landline for fax. It was so easy.It is cheaper than direct streaming. ButI I use direct tv my cell phone and computer.

Hello Everyone irisinnia - You sound like a good Mom understanding what your child needs. I hope he'll enjoy Kindergarten. I know it's different from when I was young, but I remember enjoying it so much. Good for you tracking again. DotRen- Hope you will like the hair color after a few washes. amrys - That sounds like a good deal for your TV service, glad you were able to get it. And I'm happy your ankle is feeling better. I made it through 4 days back on track, so I'm happy. I'm going for 31 days in a row right now and then of course I need to go for every day. It has helped having all the junk out of the house and I guess I'll just have to keep it out until I get strong enough to control it again. I have a few snack things that are low in calories/points so I can have those if I need to. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans and enjoying the weekend.
