This is a conservative thread to allow those with conservative views to express themselves. We welcome Republicans, Tea Party folks, and those who believe in the Constitution as written, not as interpreted by liberal judges. If you have liberal views we invite you to participate in a civil and respectful conversation. We would respectfully request that if you cannot post in a respectful and civil manner to refrain from doing so until you can. Good discussions are great - insulting arguments are not. We welcome discussions about our weight loss journey.

We will be getting into the election season, and the summer is ending, so maybe more folks will be back. By the way I am Susie Lee, but changed the name for the account.

even on Fox News they made it sound as though our president admittled that Russia meddled in our election and that's why Pres Trump won.I'm sure that thrilled Hillary and made her think even more that losing wasn't her fault. Well if it is true, I have to say thank you to them because I was beyond happy that Hillary lost. I managed to make it thru 8 years of O but don't know if I could have managed with Hillary as our pres even for only 4 years. Those whining about Mr Trump can now feel what we felt during the past 8.

I am waiting for my mail-in ballot for the Arizona primary election. I have mostly made up my mind about most of the candidates. I must admit it is kind of fun to watch the total meltdown on the liberal side. They have nothing but obstructing Trump to run on.
The wellness center is getting easier and I have increased most of the weights since I started a month ago. Climbing the stairs to get in is becoming easier too, but going back down the stairs is still difficult for me. My gf says I need to strengthen my hamstrings and suggested walking backward on the treadmill along with other exercises to strengthen my hamstrings. Overall I am feeling better except I need to get back on track with Nutrisystem and relose the 20 pounds I have gained. Wouldn't hurt to lose about 40 pounds but that is pushing it. I would be happy just to get comfortably back in my size 40 pants.

Record high job numbers.
Record low unemployment rates.
Record-breaking economic growth.
That, is what it looks like to put America first.

Rosie O' Donnell is holding protests in front of the White House with a group of singers from some of the big Broadway shows. I hope President Trump has a good pair of ear plugs.

The President wasn’t there, he’s in New Jersey. Another idiot spokesperson for the liberals. The list is getting impressive, add Rosie. She’s joining Maxine, DiNero, and the rest of the loonies.

I guess my medical enrollments are now complete. I signed up for a discount dental, vision, and hearing plan. Strange thing. They told me that Medicare does not allow insurance coverage for dental, vision, and hearing? But they do allow companies to sell discount plans? Anybody experience this?

Medicare does not cover refractory eye exams, or hearing aids.
However I found this statement:
Medicare generally does not pay for vision care, but it will cover certain medically necessary services, such as cataract surgery. If you have Original Medicare, these services are covered under Part B, which covers outpatient services. ... One set of prescription eyeglasses or one set of contact lenses after the surgery.
You have part B?

Medicare part B will pay for cataract surgery and other actual medical eye conditions but not exams for glasses aka the refractory eye exams as ellisana mentioned. They will pay for one set of glasses but only from certain providers none of which are in my area
Otherwise Gary, I never heard that Medicare didn't allow vision, dental, or hearing insurance and have not heard about the discount insurance. I do wonder if it actually pays to have those insurances. Hearing aids cost a fortune but I wonder if the hearing insurance will pay for any hearing aid you choose or if they allow only certain ones

That is what I was wondering. I am not sure Medicare could stop one from buying supplemental insurance, but they themselves are limited in what they cover. We always found insurance that covers eye and dental to be cost prohibitive. We never checked on insurance for hearing aids, even though the husband wears them. We just pay for them, he has bought replacement insurance from the vendor. Only for the first time purchase though. He has had them for a while. They were pretty pricey, but they work really well.
Even my part b insurance won't pay for refractory exams, I do get an exam a couple times a year paid for partly by medicare and partly by my part b, but those are related to eye health conditions.

I have an advantage plan...the only one available in my state and it doesn't cover vision (except for actual medical conditions that affect the eyes ..cataracts and I think glaucoma and maybe AMD,) and it doesn't cover dental or hearing either..same in hearing...I think that MAYBE if it's an actual medical problem not just a simple hearing problem they might cover that. I hear the dems want the "goverment" to provide free college, free everything medical, and free funerals for everyone..Free? ? Nothing is free. Who do they think is going to pay for those so called free things. The "government" is the people. Free stuff means higher and higher taxes. So those of us who work or have worked get to pay for our own and the lazy people who have never worked

Thanks for the feedback. I'll just wait and see what my membership packet says when it gets here, but you all are saying more or less what I have read/heard. The only advantage I can see right now is if I need to replace my hearing aids. They were pricy when I got them and no insurance covered them, but the new plan might get me a discount if/when I replace the ones I have. Otherwise I may be paying more for dental visits and eye exams/glasses than I did with employer insurance. Good thing I have some money tucked away in my investments along with Social Security.
In the meantime the democrats / socialists are doing their best to destroy our country. Indications are that the "blue wave" may be a figment of their imagination. The American people are starting to catch on and we are fed up! Trump really needs to get rid of Sessions most of the top leadership in the DOJ / FBI and clean house. I think he may be waiting for the election results, which early indications point to a red wave, not a blue wave. I can hardly wait until November to see how we fare.
