We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they are hatched.
(Dating the thread for a little longer period of time right now. Since everyone is so busy, it should work that way. If it starts getting too long we can always change it.)

Did the JA throw Jr under the bus? Maybe not yet, but he's pushing him dangerously close to the curb. Jared and Jr both better be worried, because if it will help save the JA's skin you can bet he won't hesitate an instant to push them both right under the wheels.

This guy can't stop talking!
His non-stop chin wagging will ultimately be his undoing.

There's so much "I didn't know about it... oh wait I did but I didn't know what it was about... no wait I knew what it was about but that wasn't what it was about.. no wait, on second thought, I didn't know what it was about... no -it was about collusion and that's legal but I didn't know about it AT ALL and it's Jr.s fault, but he's a wonderful son"... lol I think there needs to be a course taught to understand this stuff! Trump attorney blames 'bad information' for his false statements on Trump Tower meeting

All that "bad information" coming from people in the JA campaign, and yet he refuses to listen to any of his own security agencies. Of course, we all know that he is omnipotent (or at least he wants to be). Melania kind of has the upper hand with him right now, as it would not look good at all to his evangelical base if she dumped him for all the philandering. As it is now, they can tell themselves that it really isn't true because after all Melania is still there. I never expect her to do that, unless he loses it all and goes to prison--hey! a girl can dream!--but she doesn't have to walk the line quite as closely right now as he needs her. But unless he loses the money, she's there for the entire journey. Still it's kind of fun to watch her swipe at him from time to time.

What the heck is up with Rand Paul these days? Is he trying to be Putin's next puppet?

This is frightening: At Least 74 Shot, 12 Fatally, Across Chicago in Violent Weekend .That's just unbelievable. Nash: I don't think it's unusual to try and seek out "dirt" on your political opponent, but - to me - going to another country's intel screams "and now you owe me" and definitely sets up a conflict that would be very hard to shake off. If that makes sense.

DotRen , I don't think it is unusual to seek out "dirt" on your political opponent either as long as that "dirt" is not coming from a foreign national. Seeking it from Russia or any foreign national or country is definitely unusual. The statute reads: " (a) Prohibition It shall be unlawful for-- (1)  a foreign national, directly or indirectly, to make-- (A)  a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State, or local election; (B)  a contribution or donation to a committee of a political party;  or (C)  an expenditure, independent expenditure, or disbursement for an electioneering communication (within the meaning of section 30104(f)(3) of this title);  or (2)  a person to solicit, accept, or receive a contribution or donation described in subparagraph (A) or (B) of paragraph (1) from a foreign national.
I think where the JA and his crew are in serious trouble is the fact that they wanted and were evidently willing to accept this information from a foreign national, and seemingly the code/statute strictly prohibits that. In this case the "contribution" (at least as far as we know now) was dirt on Hillary. It also seems to have been dirt on Hillary in exchange for lifting sanctions or the adoption issue.

Yesterday our favorite president blamed the fires in Cali on our environmental rules (?!), diverting water to the Pacific (WTF? - rivers run to the sea, no one "diverts" them) and not clear-cutting our forests. Thanks, buddy.

lani, he clearly has no concept of CA and the fires there. It would be laughable if it were not so very serious. This JA has gutted environmental regulations, but this CA fire of course has nothing to do with even that. He continues to deny climate change even with indisputable evidence. But then, he denies everything based in fact. It's going to be interesting to see how the OH congressional race goes today. On a personal note, HAPPY 70TH ANNIVERSARY to my mom and dad today! Not many couples ever see that milestone.
