Every morning, I get up & wonder what kind of mentally draining day we will have with JA. It just seems like everyday its something new, something worse & another day of "who cares" attitude from Congress & his his supporters. So, will one word change peoples minds about him. I rather doubt it. If what he has said & done now hasn't, I'm not sure anything will. The Republicans are just downright scared of him. Its all about their ambitions & if going against the JA, they will cower in a corner rather than confront him. They have proved that time and again. I thought Lindsey Graham was a very close friend to John McCain. Did he call out JA over the fact that JA could not say John McCain's name in the Defense Bill that was signed at Fort Drum the other day. This was a bill that was meant to honor McCain & named after him. Where is Graham telling JA it was mean & vindictive to leave McCain's name off at the signing ceremony?!

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” -- Joseph Goebbels
Does this sound familiar? The JA has taken this to heart, and seems to be following it closely--make the people distrust the press and thereby make the people immune to the truth. And as Linda says, clearly the entire GOP is too scared of him to make any sort of stand. All they care about is keeping their cushy jobs.

I hope one of the first things done when JA is kicked to the curb is revoke his security clearance!!...Actually, it should be revoked ASAP, but like that will ever happen. Once again another day of revenge & incompetence in the Oval Office!

Patty Bird- Found the most purrrrrrrfect job for you! My back yard already looks like that! Well, not exactly. There's only 5 back there now and we have 3 house cats. But, you're right. I could do that job. When I was younger I volunteered in a cat shelter. We had about half the cats they have. I was also half my age. lol. I hope they have a spay and neuter program too. Look at them. They're all so beautiful, well fed, and cared for. It's good to see a story about animals and the people who care for them. With all the ugly going on out there stories like this reminds me there are still good and caring people in the world. People who take time to make life a little easier for other beings. I don't want to go all Martha Stewart but that's a good thing.

I don't have a problem with them removing security clearance from FORMER employees. That would be like someone saying "Ok I don't work here anymore, but I'm keeping the keys to the store and the passwords to the computer system". It makes sense to remove these things.

Not sure I understand the full issue about the security clearance. Because they have the clearance it doesn't mean they can access information at will does it? My understanding is that it gives them the ability to be "read in" to an issue and offer insight and advice only if and when needed. If that's correct, then stripping the clearance because the holder is critical of you is small and petty. Especially when there was evidently no concern about people like Jared having immediate and continuous access to top secret information even before they had received clearance. To me this reeks of a bully being vindictive.

If these individuals hadn't been outspoken in their criticism of JA or involved in Mueller Investigation etc, they would still have their clearances. Most of the individuals on the "enemies list" did not even have their clearances anymore. Most get to keep their clearances as a matter of courtesy & protocol because of the vast experience & knowledge they hold in case something like another 911 happens. Many only use these clearances in case they are asked to weigh in on particular issues. Otherwise, the clearances never get used. Does Mike Flynn still have his clearance. I feel more secure with Brennan, Clapper & the others having these clearances than Ivanka, Jared, & others on the JA staff. All this was just a way for JA to get back at those that criticize him. Another way to shut down the free press & right to free speech. I think its goes much further than just taking away clearances. Thats whats scarey. The "list" was dated July 26th, but just rolled out yesterday to detract from all that is going on. I think it pretty much backfired.

RIP Aretha Franklin . . . wish this whole administration had a little R.E.S.P.E.C.T. for the country.

It makes sense to remove these things. This "decision" doesn't have anything to do with sense. This is a warning shot for anybody else who dares to point out how foolish, dangerous, and unqualified this jerk truly is. We're not talking about Walmart or 7-11. This is stupid and childish revenge from Putin's silly puppet. Childish as in, "I'm rubber and you're glue. Whatever you say about me bounces off me and sticks to you. I'm the president so there!" And yet, there are STILL people who support this foolish/dangerous Oaf! How can that be? No really. How?

Rest In Peace, Aretha Franklin. I've grown up with your beautiful and powerful voice in the background of my life. You turned me on to soul music. Today, in my 70's it's still one of my favorites. I even have the 45's to prove it. Thank you! You will be missed.

I remember those 45s, Pat ( birdgal,). Those were the days. I remember my record player was blue and white. I also remember having a party in my backyard when I was 14, and my dad ran an extension cord outside for me so we could plug in the record player. How young and innocent we all were back then.

I remember my record player was blue and white. I remember mine too. Fun and innocent times for sure, Joyce. Mine was pink and white and played one 45 at a time. It was like a suitcase and I did lug it around with me. I also remember getting an attachment that allowed me to pile them up so I didn't have to keep putting on a new record. Did you sit and stare at the 45 when it went round and round? I don't know why I did that. Till this day I can tell you the color of the label on certain 45's. I might not know why I came into the office just now but I can tell you, "There Goes My Baby" by the Drifters had a red label. lol. Joyce, this is fun. It's nice to put politics on the back burner for a while and have some fun. Thank you!

If Omarosa needed to be fired from the WH, and I don't doubt for an instant that she wasn't doing her job (whatever it was) properly, then why would Lara Trump turn right around and offer her a job in the 2020 campaign after Kelly fired her? And didn't I read somewhere that she had been fired by Trump or his organization or his campaign something like 4 times now? What's up with that. Seems to me that the JA or the family must think she has something damaging to share with the world. Sleazy scum-balls all of them! www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2018/08/16/omarosa-lara-trump-msnbc-recording-zeleny-wolf-vpx.cnn/video/playlists/omarosa-manigault/By the way, this is Eric's wife Lara on the tape. I don't ever hear any mention of Eric in the news. Does the JA think he's too stupid to play much of a role? I mean surely if Jared can handle the world, and Jr can handle getting dirt on Hillary, Eric should be able to handle something. Maybe he could help Melania make fewer statements with her wardrobe choices, and keep her TV tuned to Fox instead of CNN. These people would be a really funny joke if they were doing something other than ruining the country.

Pat, you are funny. I don't remember having a record player. I do remember having a transistor radio. brown leather with a handle to carry. My friend and I would take that transistor radio, pack a lunch, take comic books, blankets & either go sit under the underpass bridge that lead into town or climb a butte close to town. We would settle in with the transistor turned to KOMA out of Oklahoma City, listen to music, read comics, eat, & watch the traffic go under the bridge & wonder where in the world they were going. Our small rural town was about 300 people and all us teens could do was dream about graduating & leaving to find our way in the big wide world. Funny, tho, I only moved 13 miles from that town & have lived here for last 51 years. I didn't make it very far & I still wonder what the big wide world looks like. LOL I still visit on the phone every Saturday morning at 7 am to that friend who lives about 75 miles from here. My friend did have a record player & she still has it to this day. Plus, all the records she ever bought. We were just reminiscing about this not long ago.
