I'm sorry if I seem like a technological idiot, but how do you insert a photo into a post? I see the "insert photo" button, but it won't let you upload. It only allows you to put in an "http://" address. Well, I experimented trying to figure out how to find one from the photo I entered in Facebook and Pintrest, but nothing happened. It just inserted the word "Save" at the bottom of my post. No photo. What is the secret to finding a place with a proper "http://" address that would work. Or is there some other step I need to know about? I was able to get a web address for my photos, but they were "https://" addresses (with an "s" after the "http). I have a feeling I just plain don't know how to find the right address. Where should I be "hosting" the photos other than Facebook or Pintrest?

cyndee this is what I do I either right click on the photo and hit "copy" or I go to the top of page if it is just an image and copy the address. If the link is private (like a group you need to join) the picture will not show up. I then delete the http:// stuff that is in the link pop up box, and just paste the link into both lines. Not sure where the word "save" came from, did you enter it on one of those lines by any chance? I think one of them is for a title or something. The reason the links are probably failing is the http is in there twice if you aren't deleting it, thus causing a broken link.

Sorry I missed the hosting question, I know they suggest photobucket or something like that, if your Facebook account is public that should work same goes for Pinterest as long as it is public, I am about to head out for day so not ignoring if you have further questions, just give me a chance to get back to you. You can practice by going to google and just getting a public image, right click, copy, open reply here, click the insert photo link, delete http:// stuff then paste your link and see if that works, then narrow it down to see why your ones from Facebook and Pinterest aren't working. Feel free to try it out in here, will check back when I get a chance

lmenglish those I can't help you with Linda, it needs to be something through a hosted site. I think that is why a lot of people are having problems, they are trying to do it from private site or inserting their own photo without going through a phtobucket type site.

Just a general tip, I have seen a few funny things on closed groups so I just googled what they said and the image pops right up and I just copy that one. Not sure what your screenshots are of lmenglish but that might help

Cristi, I can't view that link because I'm not your friend on FB. At least I think that is why I get an error message when I click on it.

This article will let you know how to link an image from a 3rd party hosting provider, from services like Photobucket, imgur, ImageShack, and etc.
To link directly to an image hosted elsewhere, you'll first need to get the direct URL to the image you want to embed within your post. Direct URL's will end with the file format of the image, such as .jpg, .png, .gif, and etc. Often times you can locate the direct URL of an image from the share options when viewing the image on the hosting service. An example of a direct image URL would be something like: i.imgur.com/tHtwFXm.gif
Once you have the direct URL of an image you would like to insert into a post, click the Reply button to an existing thread on the forum, or create a new thread to bring up the posting page. On the posting page click on the image button found in the toolbar directly above the message area. Once clicked a pop-up window will display asking you for the Image URL, along with the Alt Text. Paste in the direct URL for the image you want to share within your post into the box provided for the Image URL option. The text you enter in the Alt Text field is what will display in your post any time the image itself is unable to load, either because the visitor has images disabled in their web browser or if your image hosting provider is having technical issues and is unable to load the image.
Once you have the Image URL and Alt Text filled out, click on the Insert Image button found at the bottom of the pop-up window and you should see a reference to your image appear in the message area of your post. Once your post is made, the image will display directly in your message.

mac same with inserting a photo. You are forgetting to delete what is in the boxes (the word link) and instead you are just pasting your link on top of it. That is why your links are corrupted. Make sure before you paste the link you want to share that you delete any and all wording/symbols in both boxes(this applies to links, pictures, etc.). I then paste the link in both boxes so people can see the actual link and decide if they want to click it or not.
