Short and sweet goddesses is a thread especially for us "Short n' Petite Gals". As "Short n' Petites", we have our own issues. Our goals are lower, and as we all know, a 5-pound loss or gain can make a huge difference on a Short n' Petite. We are here to support and encourage one another, so please feel free to join us!

I got the quote in! Jojo, you can just copy and paste.
Busy getting ready for weekend. Fri night we're having gallery owner couple over for wine and cheese, this just came up suddenly yesterday. Then Sat I'm having a ladies potluck get together from my old work. So I've been busy planning, etc.
Joan sounds like you had a great time in CA. My head is full of greys, haha
Jojo, you are doing so much work around the house! Glad that your chest pain is gone and it was nothing serious.
Holly, hope you're no longer in pain. Great that you're going to Israel! Are you with a group?

Okay, I’m over on this thread—-watching the Netflix movie The Magic Pill—it is about the KETO diet. DS in SLC who had the concussions was put on KETO for his brain—he eats so much fat—healthy fats but lots—absolutely no sugar—no dairy—now I have a cousin who has lost 28 # and her husband more—another friend (Canadians we went to MX with) has lost 25–but this movie really talks about autism and diabetes and cancer—pretty interesting. I could not do it now as I have really developed a distaste for meat—but the commonality in all this is really processed food I think.

Pretty swollen this morning—phone did not recognize me—was up in the night reading so think I may have to crash this afternoon—made oatmeal and blueberries this morning so eating was pretty easy. I have to go all soft stuff for a couple days—will make my spinach smoothie and eat some soup for dinner—DH went and got some at Paneras as all I had frozen was tomato basil and not supposed to have much acidic stuff at this point.
Wishing I could have walked this morning as it was 83 due to smoke haze—probably not so good to breathe anyway but I will have so little cardio this week it is sort of scary to me!

JoAnne, I don’t think anyone stays with us because none of us is really doing WW anymore so our sharing is not about points and weigh ins and such.

Hi all,
Next week starts all of the welcome back activities. Students start class on the 22nd. We’ve accomplished a lot this summer.
Sue, yes, the associate pastor is leading the group.
Jo Anne, what are you knitting?
Joan, I know the drill, but I just go for milk shakes. :-)

Actually, Holly, I think I will ask DH to go get a pinkberry yogurt for me after dinner—have not had anything really cold—dentist list starts with milk shakes, LOL.

Ok, I got up at 6:30 and saw that it was only 78 but I messed around having coffee, writing in my journal, then making oatmeal and watched as the cloud cover made the yard lovely—then as soon as the sun came out I started working outside—cut back all the tomatoes, cut back all the cat claw, cut back a lot of yucky zucchini leaves, trimmed the cucumber, cut the old agapanthas blooms and weeded both raised beds and all the pots—then dripping wet came in and took a shower and put on dry clothes—and then the cloud cover came back so I could watch it from inside again. Think I may have something backwards! But it feels good to actually move—my swelling is not totally gone but so much better and only have pain when I try to open my mouth too far—am still eating with a little tiny spoon—antibiotics still affecting my stomach but not as completely nauseated as before so maybe I am adjusting to it. We had a wind storm and rain last night—60 to 70 mph gusts—little branches littering the yard so DH went out and cleaned up that. It’s humid but so much cooler.

Joan - have not been on here I know but have had you so much on my mind with your surgery! Glad to hear that your swelling is down some . Has the pain been very bad? I can’t stand anything done to my mouth!
Holly- I am still on a shawl that is black and white. The black part is Lacey. I don’t usually block but will with this. It seems to tend to curl toward the center.
Sue- when is that long, lond cruise on which you are going?
We had a church family event yesterday afternoon. It was so very hot! They all cooled off in the pool afterwards but we left and went to dinner and passed on the hotdogs. I was so glad to get back in a/c!
DGK’s are loving their new school year. In school for a week. DS left for Calif. on Saturday. He will get the apt agent the furniture in for DDL and DGD to arrive next Sat. ,the 19th. DGD is very sad leaving her school and friends- I knew she would be.
Joan I think leaving off sweets and dairy is good for everyone but I do have problems with doing it myself -especially the dairy!

I am so much better today! JoAnne, this surgery has been one of the hardest so far—I think he disturbed a lot of tissue and bone and I know he stitched the heck out of my gums because this is his “last ditch” effort at getting them to close over the jawbone. I ate food this morning—I sauteed two of my tomatoes with some red onion and a bunch of spinach and then poached an egg—OMG, it tasted like heaven. I still cannot open my mouth very far without hurting but if I eat very small bites I can do soft things. I cut some honeydew into tiny flat pieces and it was so so good! I think I’ve had enough soup only for a while! My only real discomfort now is the stupid antibiotics—they have me on aumentin and I get nauseous—not horribly but enough to feel yucky.
Last night we went out to School of Rock on stage—OMG, it was so good! All the little kids played their own instruments on stage and they were just amazing players and singers! I skipped my antibiotic till bedtime and took three advil before going and did great! Sad thing tho is that all our broadway play partners are not going anymore.
JoAnne, last night I had some coconut yogurt before taking my meds—it tasted quite good—decided to try it==it is higher in calorie tho than what I usually do but it was vanilla —couldn’t find plain—will look for some because I think it would be better for me—however, come to think of it coconut milk is naturally sweet so probably would be higher in cal.
I went out early and deadheaded the flower beds and they look so much better! It’s going to be hot tho and it’s sunny so it was pretty warm for that—just couldn’t stand the sloppy look any longer! I should be fertilizing now but might wait for tonight’s shade instead.

Joan- so glad you feel so much better. Can’t Imagine not being able to chew for so long! There is a flan ( not sure that is the spelling) mix that you can buy that makes up like pudding- I think with milk and eggs. I made it when on full liquids. It was quite good.
Holly/ while I am blocking part of the shawl I’m making( it is in 2 parts), I am learning Tunesian crochet

Good morning everyone—feeling so good—got up at 6:30 and walked to coffee and back—about 2 miles or so. Then I had a “Chewing required” breakfast of avocado toast with arugula and poached egg and chili powder—again very small bites but the chewing works fine—so, so good. Going out to lunch with WW BF who has not been out in ages as her DH is really declining—she thinks he will be okay for an hour and a half—we have not had lunch or breakfast together in so long! Since I am off the gym until weights tomorrow I sort of pushed to do this today.
JoAnne, I am really feeling guilty about not quilting—think I am almost ready to dive back in—you and Holly shame me by being so good at maintaining your craft! I need that!
Going out to fertilize the tomatoes and cuke and pull a couple dead things.
DH is at his eye doctor and it’s kind of nice to have the house to myself—music up loud time! LOL
