TOOT, TOOOOT! CHUG, CHUG, CHUG! Here comes the Train to Thinsville down the track and into your station so hop on board and enjoy the ride.
This morning in Lincoln it was 64º and going up to 90º and sunny with winds SSE 5-10 mph.
We had breakfast in the lobby again this morning.
Today we’ll be looking in Lincoln again to see if we can find a rental house available to move into, since the court has ordered MJ and the girls to move back to Nebraska.
We looked again yesterday at possible rentals without much luck. I hope we will do better today.
We enjoyed some time yesterday afternoon visiting with Helen and Dave in Lincoln and had a chance to talk a bit.
MJ took Rachael to spend some time with a friend in Lincoln and then came back and we had supper and relaxed for the evening.

Nice to wake up to cooler morning here also. Not that we have had temps like some of you but high 90's are unusual for us. It was 75° when I got up this morning. Calli is content here in the window sill. She is watching for anything to move!! Pretty quiet here this morning.
I am cleaning the air purifier today, it is a small portable one but DD was using it at the house for awhile and also needs a new filter. Looks pretty good though for all that drywall dust. Hope her foot is better today, she really had an ugly looking foot yesterday, black and blue and swollen. She tangled with a loose brick and lucky she didn't take a big tumble. He DH and I both tried to get her to go to UrgentCare to see if she broke anything but the girl is stubborn so we may have to gang up on her today if it still looks so bad.
Making stuffed peppers today. this used to be the time of year for cabbage rolls also. but don't make them any more. lot of work when the rest of the family is not crazy about them. Fresh picked cabbage from the garden always made the best ones. They call them pigs in the blanket here also. Or just stuffed cabbage. and have to admit the cooked cabbage and sauerkraut do not make for a very good tummy for me anymore either. It is layered with sauerkraut and tomatoes in this area. so many other different ways to make it though. I use no rice in mine, just my choice.
No plans to go anywhere, I finished my book last night around 2am. Also got an email from library that Liar Liar is available so will pick that up on Tuesday and take these back that I have read. Has been a lot of reading going on around here lately. I am on a roll.

Good morning Doris & ATF,
Mostly cloudy today. Currently it's 78; the high for today will be 82.
I had a great night with the boys. I let them stay up till almost 10pm but Frankie kept worrying because he said bedtime was 9pm. I told them both that while I watched them we follow my rules and I say lights out at 10. I wanted their company. He was ok with that.
Today I'm going to visit TJ and hoping for another fun day.
Have a great day!

Cat,
Thanks for your good wishes that we find a house. We haven't had any luck yet and hope we can find something today.
It has been hot here too, but not as bad as what you are having.

Connie,
I hope Calli's foot is better today and you won't have to take her to the vet.
The stuffed peppers sound good, but that's one of the things that doesn't agree with me anymore and I used to love them. Our pigs in the blanket were made with thin sliced round steak and rolled it up with bacon and toothpicks. We always loved that meal.
I haven't been reading as much as I used to and I'm just finding things to read on my Kindle.

Hi! Our temp is to be a high of 86º. That is, if the weather-guessers are right. Today we enjoyed our usual Sunday brunch after church, and then came home to relax. We have had a lot of visitors this week, so it will be nice to have a quiet afternoon. DD and family didn't come to church today. This will be a busy week for them, so I guess they decided to stay in and rest up. This morning, I decided that we should share a cinnamon roll in honor of our anniversary tomorrow. It was delicious, and we had scrambled eggs and bacon with it. I got the icing on the side, so we could regulate how much we put on. Yummm! Doris, could you live in an apartment temporarily? I know that here, there are some very nice ones that allow up to three animals. Might be nice, especially if the bills were paid. We keep looking at apartment listings from time to time, because we really think that is the way we will go when we down-size. For us, the advantages are that there is no yard to maintain, washer and dryer are often in the unit, along with other major appliances, and many times the bills are paid. We think for our lifestyle, an apartment will be the way to go. We are looking at 2 bedroom units. Our DD and her family live in a two-bedroom apartment, and have been comfortable for the last three years there. She uses the dining area as a third bedroom. This is getting rather long -- sorry.
Be happy today! Diane

Diane,
I don't think an apartment will work for us, mainly because we would have to walk the dogs. MJ is hoping to find work and the girls will be in school so I would be the only one home with the dogs and I can't do the dog walking. Thanks for the idea though. What we really need is a house with a fenced back yard. We are going to go out in a while to pick up Rachael at her friend's house and we'll look along the way to see if we might find something while we do that.

I keep thinking about you and hope to hear that there is that place that will work for you. So good to see you yesterday.
Church this morning and then more peaches to do. We'll do a batch together now so we can slack off the rest of the day.

not sure where to look for listings for rentals but seems like around here they are in the local newspaper. Guess every place is different. Good luck on your search.
It was my DD that hurt her foot and Calli is lazy but fine. she wants in my lap today and I am not in mood.
Pigs in blanket here are slightly steamed cabbage leaves, , meatloaf and most times with lot of rice which I don't do, roll the small serving of meat into a ball and wrap the cabbage leaves around it and tuck in the end. With big heads of cabbage from our gardens it is easy to do. ( big leaves) Layer the blankets with sauerkraut and as many layers as you want. Pour tomatoes over top ( like stewed tomatoes, I used to make my own when we had our garden, tomatoes chopped, onions, green peppers, celery and cook down to almost a sauce. Bake about an hour to make sure the meatloaf part was done. Funny now days they probably use a meat thermometer but never did. Funny how different nationalities changed things to suit them selves or even neighborhoods.
I printed out recipes today from the web site for my air fry tray. haven't tried it yet but did get a smaller one and If I don't like it my DGD#2 will take it. I am going to try veggies first.

IN THIS AREA THE CABBAGE ROLLS WOULD BE ON A BED OF SAUERKRAUT WITH TOMATO SAUCE ON TOP. depending on where you get them some are called pigs in blanket and other places cabbage rolls. Not sure why??

Helen,
Getting the peaches ready for the freezer takes a while but it sure is nice to have them to eat during the cold weather.
We enjoyed seeing you yesterday too.

Connie,
Sorry I got that mixed up and it was your DD who was hurt. I hope she is OK today.
I wouldn't do well eating the cabbage rolls now. That's another thing that bothers my tummy.

I don't know what they will do with the house that my cousin delores who had the massive stroke will do. as far I know she is still alive. probably will never be able to go back home.I know she has a fenced in back yard.
