To use the Wendie Plan, pick any day for your Day 1. Then eat your points as follows:
Day 1: Daily pts +5 to 7 points Day 2: Daily pts + 1 point Day 3: Daily pts +15 to 20 points Day 4: Daily points only Day 5: Daily pts +4 to 5 points Day 6: Daily pts +2 points Day 7: Daily points only.
This will leave you with some of the 49 weekly points left. So if you go a little off any one given day, you'll still remain within all your points for the week. Wendy did not use her Activity points, but that decision is up to you. PLEASE NOTE: The above information is meant for those following Points Plus.
To figure out your Wendie Plan points schedule, you can find a Wendie Calculator for all major WW plans, including Smart Points, here: www.wendie-plan.com/
OR, try varying points using the Maggie Plan:
Use all 49 WPA's in the first 3-4 days of your week, then stick to daily pts only for the last 3-4. There are a few rules with it, though--you MUST follow the Good Health Guidelines and eat good healthy food, and a glass of milk late afternoon/early evening is recommended.
We recommend weighing in after a low point day.
*Disclaimer: Not all of the members here currently follow the Wendie or Maggie Plan, although we have all followed it at some point during our weight loss journeys. While the alternation of higher and lower points can be helpful, the real magic on this thread is the ongoing support we give each other not only in the areas of food and activity, but in other issues we encounter each day. We are more than what we eat.
******************************** September goals:
Surfgirl: Track daily, participate in Beck thread daily.
Chris: Break in those hiking shoes.
Janice: Watch sugar and white flour.
Tammy: Finish up main project at work, and do some presentations. Bible daily. Linda: Less sugar more Tai Chi.

Janice/janicel4 , can you please ask Chris and Linda/lwirshup if they still want to be listed here? I really wish they'd come over here regularly because it's just not the same energy with only 3 people here. Their participation is sorely missed! *sigh*

I suppose it is a preference thing - FB or here. I find that FB can be overwhelming. I read a blog the other day that said:
As part of my effort to create time and space for doing less, I also got off Facebook. At first, I was simply trying to escape the toxicity of the election on social media. In time, though, I realized I was also escaping an attentional black hole, one with an incredible gravitational pull. I would never willfully stand in the middle of a room noisy room with everyone screaming for my attention, yet this is best metaphor I can think of to describe my mind on Facebook. I was weak and could not resist its forces, fair enough, but I also started to see it as filler and fluff. When I got past my FOMO and let it go, I gained back many moments in my day.

Tammy/Tammy , I love that blog quote! I have no FOMO because I've never fell into the FB rabbit hole in the first place, but I hear it can be a huge time suck. At least here I'm getting support and wisdom on my WLJ and that is something valuable to me. With your ladies permission, I think I will adjust the title of this thread each month, and just keep this pinned at the top without making a new monthly thread each month, which seems silly if only 3 of us are here and posting sporadically at best. That way the mods don't have to unpin a thread with a handful of posts only to repin a new monthly thread that may only have a handful of posts. I can re-do the monthly goals in the top post each month for us when needed. Does that sound okay to you and Janice/janicel4 ?

So today was WI and I was about 10 pounds lighter than I had anticipated, so...PHEW! So now I'm about 23 lbs. away from my main goal, but I think I'm going to make the next 10 pounds my next mini goal so I feel more success ongoing...does that make sense or sound delusional?

surfgirl, congrats on a favorable WI. My goals were just the next 5 pounds. My biggest regret was when I got close to goal and set my goal there about 10 pounds. I wish instead that I had gone to 1 or 2 pound goals.

I wish instead that I had gone to 1 or 2 pound goals. Ah, good to know its a healthy thing to do! Okay, so I'm setting my next 5 pound goal and I am now 3.9 lbs away from that. Once I hit that, I'll re set to the next 5 lbs, and so on until I hit my originally set goal. After that, I'll revisit how much lower I want to go, probably another 10 lbs but let's see how I feel when I get there! Onward and upward, right?!

surfgirl, I know I've told this story before - but when I joined WW for 3 weeks in my 20s, I went from 140 to 125 in 3 weeks. I lost 7 pounds the first week, 5 pounds the 2nd week and 3 pounds the 3rd week. I'm now around 134 pounds. There is no way that I could lose 5 pounds in a week. Patience is required for those of us who are older with slower metabolisms! And we need to celebrate smaller victories.

And yes, I hear you on slower metabolisms...oy, the joys of getting older, right?!

Being young was the secret to the huge losses, and sticking to the diet. I don't have that young part to fall back on anymore.

WI yesterday was a disappointment given last week's surprise of being down a lot more than I had thought I'd be. I was up 2.3. Now, I know I went OP last weekend while helping Mr. Surf get ready for a trip (I got take out on Superbowl Sunday which I had not planned to do), and I also had an "accident" with some popcorn the day he left on his trip. I also started ballet again the night before WI and although I was doing cardio daily at the gym last week, could lactic acid build up cause that much of a jump?

surfgirl, Sometimes a big loss is really a moderate loss with a favorable "error" thrown in. "Errors" are random like salt, or being swollen from working out or dehydrated. So, the "gain" could really be a maintain with no error. When I got to within 20 pounds of where I am now, it was rare for me to average more than 1/2 pound per week loss.
