janicel4 , Well, as I said, he's clogging those smaller arteries a little, but the only treatment is a change in meds. Happy to report some major progress on my long term project that keeps getting interrupted. I met withe the system architect and he was very pleased withe the way that I tied my part into his system design. I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And as I get more familiar with the system, work will move much quicker.

Just popping up here so no one thinks we've fallen from the face of the earth. At least, I haven't. Also reporting that I showed up for a live WW meeting for the first time in about 6 years, and since the leader asked (suggested?) whether I'd want to change my goal, I did change it and didn't have to pay. Got a voucher for etools but not sure whether I'll use it. After finding me in the computer and updating the info, she noted that I was down 29 pounds from the starting weight they had in the computer. That was from when DD was 3 yo. Interesting, because my WWOL stats from my start 7 years ago, would have me losing about 7 pounds.
Tammy, hope both your dad and your project are progressing. Mom didn't have her heart attack until she was about 77, and I think some of her issues are related to the fact that she did not recognize it was a heart attack or go for treatment until several days later. Hearty peasant stock and all.
Surf, where have you been?

Surf has been traveling, as usual. Dad is well, getting old. It is what it is. Janice ( janicel4) Congrats on getting back on the WW radar and being free! 29 pounds or 7 pounds is still a loss!

My goal for April
Janice--Eat mindfully
Still haven't used the etools voucher. Don't like the idea of entering credit card info, especially since I'm insecure about my laptop's security. I'm fine with the iTrackBities app on my phone.

Hi ladies...I was in Swaziland Janice. Got home Friday and have been down for the count with a really bad cold so not posting much at all. Hopefully will be back to normal next week. I am going to try to go to gym soon and walk slowly on treadmill to see if I can work back to my normal gym routine.
Tammy, do you want to change your goal for April? If so, let me know. For now I'll just change the title month and Janice's goal.

janicel4 , is there any way we can lure Chris and Linda back here with us? Not sure. Mentioned it before, but they do stay on FB because there are many other things they see or do there. I don't get here as frequently because the other groups in which I participated are either totally or mostly on FB as well. (Plus my daughter, cousins, HS and college friends.) I'll ask again.

Hi, as usual I can't remember my sign in info, but Janice suggested I come say hi.
I've gained about 7-8 pounds since I retired in July of 2016. I was thinking about rejoining WW meetings. What do you two (Tammy and Surf) think? I'm afraid I'll be wasting my money, but I'm not getting there on my own, either. I do have more time now that I'm retired.
There are quite a few meetings at a WW center not too far away, so I should be able to find a leader who clicks.
Other than the weight gain, things are going pretty well. We are planning our first trip to Alaska in July, on a Princess cruise going out of Seattle, then we'll spend almost another week in Seattle and Spokane with relatives.

Hi Tammy and surf and Janice and Chris. My life is full of ups and downs. A big down is weight gain. A great big up is taking Tai Chi. I go at least 3 times a week. It has reduced my anxiety so much I've been able to stop a medication I've taken for over 20 years. I am mostly free of chronic pain. I'm making post retirement friends. DH is also going. I'll try to check in again now that my password is changed. Take care!

Chris, Nice to see you! I'm not much on meetings, but I go to the at work meeting, and also a lifetimer meeting. lwirshup, Nice to see you, too! Glad the Tai Chi is working. I take turmeric for my pinched nerves in my neck. WW continues to work for me. I do track. I pretty much just put one foot in front of the other and don't fight it. I did find my Beck book helpful. And it was nice to have a maintainer's group online. My online time has been limited recently, just busy. Quite honestly, I think the key to success is tracking in a reasonable points or calories system. I think it's a little like AA, OA, etc. You just have to accept that this is what you have to do. I do think there is some comfort in knowing that you are not alone in what you have to do.

Chris! Linda! Yeah!!!!! We've missed you'se guys round here...
So Chris , yeah, I hear you on the meeting thing. Here's the thing I find, if I use these boards as my "meeting" it helps me a lot. At the end of the day, either one has or doesn't have the commitment/willpower to stay OP. There are a lot of things in life that derail us all, and we end up gaining again. Look at me, I was near goal and allowed that sucky ass job to derail me...I wont do that again! I don't like meetings and I don't want to pay out that money, I'd rather use that money for fitness classes or whatever. So I've been using the boards more and more. If you can remember your log in, I would encourage you to make use of this place, it's so much easier now that we can say whatever we want without WW policing our thoughts! I also highly recommend using the Beck Thread Group here to help you restart, they're great, of course Tammy is a long time member there but I'm just getting to know them all and it's really helpful. USE US HERE! It's free, and to me it's better support than a paid meeting, IMO...
Linda/lwirshup, sorry to hear about the weigh gains but so happy to hear that the Tai Chi is working so well for you! I tried it last year but didn't stick with it. I wish I could afford to go somewhere NOT at the Y, but I can see how folks get addicted to it. You really cannot think of life's bullshit while you're doing Tai Chi, that's what I liked the most about it. Slowwwing down your body and mind and doing motion meditation, that's what it was like for me.
Tammy, thanks, I am finally starting to feel better again. Still got a lingering bit of congestion but it's almost gone. I feel like if I could cough really Really REALLY hard it'd come out but so far, nada!
Janice, thanks for rounding the ladies up, it just hasn't felt like the old Wendie threads here since Chris and Linda evaporated...*sniff*

surfgirl , I'm a believer in the neti pot. Tammy, I tried using a neti pot for a couple of winters and it ended up giving me inner ear issues. I could hear this squeaking, like water had somehow gotten up into my ear canal...it was really annoying and it hurt as well. I wonder if that's a common issue for new users or if I just screwed it up somehow...
