Yuk - hit the wrong key and lost post. I will never stop hating that. How do I do it!?
Had DGS4 today and he will spend the night. DGS9 and DDGD 11 have sleepovers tonight so if we keep DGS4, the parents can have a night out for Valentines.
Shopped today for DDIL's sister that is W/C bound and has BD tomorrow. Bought her 2 cute knit dresses that have no waist and a pair of leggings. Upsized on them so she can wear them over the body cast she will have in March. If she can't use them then, she can use them later.
Dinner was baked chicken, green peas, and homemade fries in the air fryer. The fries are so good!!!
Played a lot with DGS4 todoay.
Just bought 3 bamboo bras with front closure online. I hope that I like them. They look so comfortable.
Ate Lunch at IHOP today and I'm sure the harvest grain pancakes that I had did not help my wt. But they were gooooooood!

Curious to know how the gallery showing went, Sue? Was SO okay with it once he saw it in person? WEre there lots of people at the opening? Did they have wine reception or something?
Yesterday was gone a lot---gym for two classes, then quick lunch, then went to get my eyes checked---love my relatively new found eye dr.---first guy ever to offer to put partial correction soft contacts in my eyes so that I could shop for frames and actually see myself in the mirror instead of having them take pictures of me (which never turn out good because I don't have a natural smile unless caught off guard or have grandkids in the picture with me--LOL). I couldn't even feel the contacts! He told me now they have bifocal contacts where each contact actually has reading and distance capability. However, he also said that I can be better corrected with glasses --- also now that I'm wrinkly and have bags under my eyes naturally, not sure I want to go without glasses! So I chose a new frame---much like my present one only slightly larger which is the fashion trend now---and more color on the side bows. Also got new sunglasses which are smaller (mine are huge and very cumbersome and scratched) and because i ordered two pair second pair is half off---even off the lenses. No signs of cataracts or glaucoma or mac. Degeneration---the latter two are rampant in my family background. Dad went blind from the last two in his 80's. Two aunts had m.degeneration and went nearly blind as well. So I was relieved once more.
We went and looked at Chrysler's new Pacifica minivan---was so impressed with it and I've always been a Toyota or Honda person---we offered to sell our van to DD and buy new as theirs is totaled and our van would be a much better buy than what they are looking at for same price---but they don't want to feel beholden to us in any way---wish they could get past that as our van has some safety features they won't be able to afford. But I have to respect their wishes.

Oh BTW, Holly and JoAnne---I saw a little girl about 3 wearing the cutest cape today--it was pink and probably knitted---just about sweater length, pull over style and it had a hood that had cute little kitten ears---she was adorable in it---thought about you two and all the knitting and crocheting going on!
Look like we'll have BF's over for dinner---just taco bar and some rodeo salad which is southwestern sort of. Asking their friends who played cards with us last weekend too---they are our age and love to travel a lot---just really nice, easy to be around people.
It is very overcast here=---looking like it wants to rain but hasn't yet. Gotta get busy and make my salad.

Hi!
The exhibit turned out better than I expected from what SO had been telling me about the space and how the curator was displaying his and the other artist's work. SO agreed as well. Having his work properly hung with good lighting makes a big difference from seeing it lined up and propped against our walls at home.
Happy Birthday Jojo! I hope you have a great day! Time for me to buy some new bras as well.
Joan, there weren't that many people there. The curator is juggling too many new projects and as a result, I have a feeling many things are falling through the cracks in each of them. SO contacted him I think Wed or Thurs and asked him whether the opening was in fact on Fri - the guy had forgotten to email SO the final notice! It was nice to hear from people we don't know compliment him on his work.
Great that you found a good eye dr! My eye dr told me I do have beginning signs of cataracts...SO does too. The dr does lots of surgeries and said if my cataracts need surgery, he can go in there and make adjustments to my far sightedness and make it better at the same time. So that is good to hear.
A gallery owner next door to us was here this morning - SO invited him to come look at his work. He was very positive and might include SO's work in a portfolio that he will be showing to his clients in China.
Did some food prep today, some more homework. Will go to gym soon.

Oh, Holly--I'm sorry---I hope your family can share good memories today and support each other---I'm so glad there are places where your brother remains with everyone around you---not just in your hearts and memories---his art pieces left a piece of him for you and others to always have him. That is just so neat.
Sue I had a feeling that seeing his art displayed with appropriate lighting would really be neat---know he was not excited about the space---but you have to start somewhere! Sorry the owner did not do a better job of generating a crowd. How long with the gallery display stay?
Don't know how I got italicizes print but it's kind of neat anyway!! LOL

Hi all,
Thank you for your thoughts and support. The week leading up to the 11th is usually harder than the day itself. We had a nice weekend in the mountains. Have you all played Sequence? I beat my mom and sister on my second try. Haha.
It is supposed to be close 80 today. No wonder everyone is sick with this constant temperature roller coaster. I am nearly a week into this cold that's hit nearly everyone at the library.
Happy belated birthday JoJo. Hope you enjoyed your time with DGS.
Joan, how cute! I've been really distracted lately so I haven't been knitting much.
Sue, hope the gallery exhibit went well.

You are the third person, Holly, in about 3 months that mentioned the game Sequence---guess I'd better learn it and give it a try!

Having coffee before heading to the dr. Office for the carotid artery ultrasound---really hoping this goes well. Yesterday I spoke with a friend who taught music for me for 16 years---OMG, she just had her second heart attack---and she has a "healthy" heart and arteries---it is strictly stress---she has overreaction to stress and the dr. Said her heart just goes into spasms and cannot function properly---she has been ordered to attend no high stress movies, no strressful work and is supposed to get into yoga and meditation---so she is going to come to my yoga class on Tuesday and Thursday and see if she can learn to stay in the moment better. She is only 62. Her children went to my school---all three are amazing but the middle one is a child prodigy---he is 29 now and just competed at the Franz Litzz competition in the Netherlands---only 73 people in the world are good enough to be invited to compete---they compete in four cities and three winners are chosen---we listened to his competition the other night on our big tv--DH was astounded! He's incredible--at 15 he had already written 2 complete CD's worth of work for the piano. Real genius level art. I might post a link to one of his concerts on my next post---just for fun.

Hi!
Another exhausting day yesterday, a lot of heavy lifting. Also, a commercial kitchen is not ideal for petites, everything is high. I always have to ask help to get hanging tools like whisks, chinoise/strainers, ladles.
Spent over an hour scrubbing dirty carrots in soaking in cold water with a green scrubby. My hands are in terrible shape! Grilled peppers over super hot grill with short tongs, even with my hand towel over the tongs it was so hot, I kept saying "ouch", plus I melted the plastic container that was holding the pepper, I didn't realize how hot it was next to the grill.
Got home and crashed.
Holly, glad you had a nice family weekend.
Joan, how did the ultrasound go? I think they can usually tell you the results right afterwards? Was that the friend who forgot she was to host book club one time and then was late so had to drive herself to another bookclub? I saw the video, wow, he is very talented! Amazing.
Almost done with my intern paper due in 2 weeks. Just need to wrap up final citations, etc. This week I'm on entrees for a la carte, hope it's not going to be too crazy. Going to the gym soon.

No, Sue, the friend whose son is the concert pianist always planned to do book club and never did---we stay in touch through facebook and occasional phone calls.
Sue, doesn't sound as if it was a very good day in the restaurant---sorry---you had to be totally exhausted after all that! Thanks for checking out the UTube of him---he is quite incredible. I saw him in concert with the LV Philharmonic Orchestra once when he was only about 22 or so---OMG, not a page of music and did about an hour of the concert! Then we went over to his mom's and he and a friend who was an opera major started playing around with the piano---it was yet another concert---totally different genre but awesome.
Got a call from Jordan who was at school---he was so sick---I went and picked him up and drove him home before going to class---I had such a sad feeling when I dropped him off---sudden realization that he's lived nearly his who 16 years without a mom and the last year without a dad---and in poverty. Such a good kid.
