Fred is golfing this morning and the bug guy comes for the quarterly service. Debbie has a long day at work today - 12 hours - but since she also went in for a while yesterday she can take Friday off with flex time. She was saying last night she hasn't seen Jeff since June 5 and she thinks he's probably a hot mess as she saw he's on one gram of Xanax a day and also saw a bottle of Captain Morgan on the counter that is almost empty so looks like he's taken up drinking which he didn't do before. So she thinks that's one of the reasons he makes sure to not be there when she's going to be there and why he didn't show up for the court date as he didn't want her seeing him. But Debbie looks fantastic! Much better than when she was with him and much happier as well.
Sam took Maija to a friend's farm last night to see the meteor shower. It was cloudy so I hope they got to see something. I know once away from the city the sky is usually very bright with the stars. She was given a curfew of 1:30 and was home right on time. So we probably won't see her until this afternoon sometime. If she's still asleep when the bug guy comes he'll just have to not go upstairs.
I think I know why Sam is such a great guy! His Dad is not a big part of his life but his Mom and two sisters are so I'm pretty sure while growing up they had a strong influence on telling him how women should be treated. But Debbie told us yesterday that next Monday he will be given Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts and I know that takes a long time to achieve and not many young men achieve that status! Debbie asked Maija if he always opens the car door for her and does he always walk her to the door when bringing her home and she said yes and when heading to a building he'll walk a little faster than her to get to the door first and apologizes if she beats him and opens the door herself. She keeps telling him it's okay as she can open doors but he just says that's what I'm supposed to do, not you!
My weight is really up big time this morning so I just have to stop my mindless eating! Of course that's easier said than done!

Good Morning!
Off to the dentist this morning for a routine cleaning and checkup. Then I am going to bunco with girlfriends. They will probably go to lunch afterward, so may or may not go depending on how I feel.
Yesterday's BBQ/pool party with friends ended up as being just a BBQ because of the rain. There was so much food that I feel I won't be hungry for a week. I kept portions small and stayed away from corn on the cob. BBL

Good morning friends.
Are we ready to begin a new week? I have a busy week ahead of me starting today with a cardiologist appt. I don't have my new Part D insurance information yet which is disappointing because I was hoping to have the card by now so I can give it to them for my file. This is the last month I can get medicine refills from my old insurance and I'll need new scripts called in next month. It would have been nice to have all the info to give them today. I guess I'll just have to drop the info off later when it comes in the mail.
Sandy, attaining Eagle scout status is something to really be proud of. It requires dedication and hard work. That young man will go far in life. His mom and sisters must be so proud of him.
Ruth, enjoy your bunco club today. I'm also in a bunco club and we meet Saturday. I love my bunco sisters and always enjoy getting together with them.

Good morning friends.
I am having trouble sleeping lately. Last night that was partially due to my not being able to put down my latest book, GIVE ME YOUR HAND. It involves the terrible secret a teen tells a friend. The knowledge of that secret changes their lives. Not a happy book but definitely gripping.
Today I have a doctor's appointment and will give her my application for a handicapped placard for my car. That will make a difference. I am also picking up underwear I ordered from Kohl's.
Tonight I have a social committee meeting. I am going to ask someone to take over making flyers for our monthly Movie Night. I make pretty fancy ones with 3D stickers and cutouts and other stuff. I enjoy doing it, but sitting at a table is really tough for me now. I also get there early and decorate the clubhouse. I'm handing that over as well. Both until I am more mobile unless someone wants to take over more permanently.
My mantra for today: Put your positive pants on!

Good morning. Gail I am going to message you regarding my trip to the Cape. I have a handicapped tag for my car. When I asked for a temporary one while undergoing knee replacement, the doctor gave me a permanent one. I guess she knew at my age it would always be one thing or another!
Vicki I also have a busy week. Working two nights, church meeting, neighbor's two dogs until Friday. They went home last night and came back this morning. Lots of paperwork to catch up on. Pot luck at rec center tomorrow. I cheated and got three bags of a salad mix. I'll mix up early tomorrow morning and let it mingle a little. Going to bake lemon pudding cakes for a friend tomorrow. Lots of sewing for rescue. She had a pop up sale at a friend's place of business last Friday and sold $2,000. worth of merchandise that I sewed. Yoga three days this week because I really need it. Also going to spray some Large, Large weed in the yard and hoping to begin evening walks. We can get it all done!
Ruth I love bunco, enjoy.
Sandy I was out at 12:30 last nights to see the meteors. I only stayed a few minutes as it hurt my neck to look up, but I saw nothing. The sky was clear and my back yard was very dark. Hope DGD had better luck. I would guess she was looking for a much longer time than I was. I have seen them in the past and it is very exciting.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning friends.
We are at the laundry this morning. You see a wide spectrum of society at a laundromat. But I am a people watcher, so not unpleasant.
Gail I worry you will push yourself and do too much and stall your recovery. Please be careful friend. I too had trouble sleeping. I think I need a new pillow. I miss my pillow from home.
DD brought home Avanti’s (Italian) for dinner last night. She brought me a gondola no cheese. Pregnant DGD came and we had a fun conversation over dinner. Her boyfriend is a bad person and not welcome but I credit her parents for keeping in touch with her and still communicating. She is 23 yo.
Sandy I’m sure I mentioned (as I love to) that DS is an Eagle Scout and also his oldest DS. His 15 yo twins are almost there too. It is something to be proud of as it’s a lot of dedication and hard work to achieve this.
Have a good day friends.

I won $32 at Bunco today for the most 3 of a kind. We had 29 players so a bigger pot for prizes than usual.
Sharon, Mike would NEVER travel without his pillow. I am lucky and can sleep on anything. I once even slept on the hard benches at a train station as Wasband #2 watched over me during an Amtrack delay. Oops...take that back. I once had to sleep on a futon for a week and got a sore back. I will revise that to say I can sleep on MOST anything. LOL

Ruth is Mike’s pillow one of those advertised on TV? Mine is down and feather and I like it. It was expensive so I won’t buy another for the camper.
After lunch we went to the WC and I opted to swim. I don’t actually swim, just dog paddle. But I also did exercise and aerobic. I showered there and now am enjoying the shade on our little patio and a cup of coffee.
I weighed in my dry swimsuit at the WC and have lost a lb. I had decided to use dry swimsuit as a gauge from time to time. Especially since I don’t want to weigh in just my panties.
Sorry if I’ve told this last year also, but after morning water aerobics all the older ladies go into the locker room and take turns in the 4 showers. They walk around naked as a jay bird and discuss church luncheons and where they shop and whose been ill. I find it shocking and hilarious and sort of charming. Bizarre too. Then I’ve seen them after at lunch and they all pray before eating. What’s your opinion on this? (The naked part, not the praying) 1. Charming 2. Shocking 3. Embarrassing 4. None of my business

Sorry. I was up early and outside before 7, spent 1 hour and 20 minutes puling weeds. Yes Geri, mine are tall also. Most I could pull but a few I had to cut with nippers. I really detest the hot humid temps plus the full sun therefore, the tall weeds this summer.
Cut DH's hair yesterday and mine this morning, I really no longer like that job either. The older I get the less things I enjoy doing like that. Spent the morning waiting for a call from Dr's office for Injection appointment. They called Friday but I was in Iowa City trying to follow driving instructions on my cell phone so they were to call back today. I don't get the best reception with cell in basement so waited upstairs. They finally called about 1:00pm.
Our son was in 4-H so not Scouts and daughter was in Girl Scouts for awhile. Congrats to all the Eagle Scouts. True, a lot of dedication.
I don't really know what Bunco is but good to know you gals enjoy it. I was never a card player and never will be as I don't pay enough attention to what cards others play.
Sharon, I also do not travel with my pillow. Sort of replaced the original last year but the original has been many, many miles.
Have not been out to watch the meteorite show, we have an outside night lite that sits north east of our house so I would have to get in the car and drive up the road. Must think I am to old to do that.
Geri, you do so much sewing for the good of others, I guess I just sew for a hobby and entertainment. Most of mine go to immediate family members.
QOTD: A jumble of things. Do you take your body measurements and how often? Do you get tired of the clothes in your closet even tho they fit? Would you rather buy spring, summer, fall or winter clothing? Do you find that your favorite clothing stores aren't your favorite any longer.?
AOTD: Rarely but TOPS leader suggested we do for a new contest we are going to start. I did when I first started WW and when I reached goal but as of today I do not know what I did with those records. WW no longer keeps any of that stuff. Used to be they had a chart. Yes, I can were clothes for awhile, then seems nothing is appealing. I don't buy many clothes. I would say summer clothes, as in winter I wear whatever will keep me warm. Yes, I used to swear by JC Penney's as at least their clothes would fit me. Was there Friday, tried on several things and left them at store. Keep telling I am going to start making my slacks as waistbands and cross back seams do not work for me.
Brother in law who has lung cancer is to visit the Dr. Wednesday to see if they think he is strong enough to start the real strong Chemo treatments. Not eating well, sleeps a lot she said. Everyday hoping to feel better.
Enjoy the rest of your day!!

Maija said watching the meteor shower last night was fantastic. They were out in the country and she said she even saw all the constellations.

QOTD: A jumble of things. Do you take your body measurements and how often? I do monthly around the first but not until I get home now.
Do you get tired of the clothes in your closet even tho they fit? Yes
Would you rather buy spring, summer, fall or winter clothing? Summer, as that’s the weather I am usually in.
Do you find that your favorite clothing stores aren't your favorite any longer.? Yes, I am so over Bealls Florida. While here in Illinois the Macy’s is closed and our beloved Bergners (Yonkers) is closing. I went to 4 Seasons and found it was for older ladies and too dressy for my casual style. Where to shop is my dilemma.
My answer to the naked ladies is delightful as there is no malice in them.

Nice to read all this
I did not win at bridge this afternoon even though I had a total score that normally would have won. I was beat by our sub (a man) and he had fantastic cards so glad for him because usually his wife is on his case on Tuesday night so nice to see him be a big winner.
Don had a phone call while I was gone from a DR. office so I will have to take care of that tomorrow. We are thinking of changing primary so I want to check on that tomorrow, too. We hope to get hair cuts and we are not playing bridge tomorrow night. Don had a bad morning but seems to feel a bit better at this time.
They play bunco here on Wed.. night for $2. I have never played. Maybe I will try it some day but not soon.
QOTD: A jumble of things. Do you take your body measurements and how often? NO
Do you get tired of the clothes in your closet even tho they fit? Yes
Would you rather buy spring, summer, fall or winter clothing? summer
Do you find that your favorite clothing stores aren't your favorite any longer.? Used to be Kohl's but it is too far to drive ...Penney's sometimes but not into buying anything for the last couple of years except bathing suits at Bealls and shoes from Easy Spirit.
My answer Sharon ==probably embarrassed
I have to learn a new line dance this week because my class has decided they like the music SWAY by the Pussycat Dolls so need to learn a dance for that.

Sharon, Mike's pillow is also down and though old, was quite expensive. I only get upset if he leaves the good Egyptian cotton pillow case on it if he takes it as those were also quite expensive and now the color is discontinued (seafoam that is more blue than green and I just love the color). As for opinions on being in the buff, it would not bother me. I would go with the flow and do as they do (the same goes for praying, as I silently give thanks before meal, which I am sure no one notices).
QOTD: A jumble of things. Do you take your body measurements and how often? Yes, usually once a year on the 1st of Jan. Do you get tired of the clothes in your closet even tho they fit? Not usually. I am fortunate enough to have lots of clothes. I try to buy only things I love and when I no longer love them I donate them. Would you rather buy spring, summer, fall or winter clothing? This is a no-brainer... since I live in Florida it is mostly summer clothes. Do you find that your favorite clothing stores aren't your favorite any longer? I can always find something at Chico's or Marshall's and they are still my favorites. Since I no longer work I don't buy many clothes unless it is bathing suits or yoga clothes or on clearance.
I am not much of a game person. Bunco is a dice game and it is fun as it is easy to socialize while rolling dice.
