I'm a 'must eat breakfast' person as I'm usually running out of the house early. I have a small breakfast on those days and a bigger late lunch. Will check out Mosley's website . I am a breakfast person too. I had oatmeal even though it was not in his very low cal plan. It is also good to space the low days out with a day or two in between. Due to my schedule it was easiest to do Mon. and Wed or Mon. and Thurs. It is odd but as he says after the first few times of eating low you are surprisingly not hungry the next day. I was fairly loose on my count of calories. Just ball parked it. I also "tested" it and really ate whatever a few times to see if it would throw it off. It did not. I lost consistently. I wouldn't do it long term unless it was just a 6:1 for maintaining. I would rather do what I am doing with WW but it is a tool to have in the box.

I have never eaten breakfast. I tried when WW went from Momentum to PP. The only thing it did for me was to add more calories to my day. I also, found it made me hungrier. For me, I don't buy into the theory that skipping breakfast makes you hungrier at night. Frankly, I don't need the extra calories & if I'm not hungry in the morning, why would I eat? So I guess I naturally do the 16/8 thing. I just eat too much at those 2 meals. I don't snack, never have, as I find eating outside of a meal begets more eating. I think I may try this 5:2 to get myself motivated again. I didn't realize MFP doesn't let you go below 1200 calories. In order for me to,lose 2 lbs a week LoseIt has me on about 900'calories a day so I'm going to adjust that as that's pretty difficult every day. Counting calories as opposed to,points was a real wake up,call for me. I need to eat very sparingly at this stage of my life in order to,lose.

sullicat1 I'm going to check with MFP and see if I can lower it. If not, I'll just add some phantom food to get it to complete my daily entry. Not as accurate but at least I can account for what I actually eat. Glad to hear you're not a breakfast eater either. I do it out of habit but not because of hunger. I thought I was the misfit. Turns out, there are lots of us. I also think that as a 67 year old, short female, some of these "rules" just don't work for me.

MFP does allow you to go less than 1200 calories but not less than 1000 calories a day so linda72 if you want to give it a try you can do it on there. They don't like you to go less than 1200 but if you click on the blue button that says what you would weigh in 5 weeks you will still get a weight number at 1200 but if it's less than 1000 it says something like you haven't eaten enough today.Hope that helps.

I can set my goal at MFP for less than 1000 calories a day. Maybe it is because I am a premium member but I can set different goals for different days and I have set as low as 500. If it is under 1000, they won't give me the forecast for 5 weeks (which is useless to me anyway).

It is more than likely because you are a premium member.I also agree the 5 week weight forecast is completely useless b/c not every day is like the day you or anyone else tracks.

Yes, that 5 week thing never made much sense particularly since the days do vary with normal eating. Also, I certainly don't burn the same amount of calories every day.

A new article from Harvard Health Publications says skipping breakfast may not be so bad. Skipping breakfast
