Apparently there have been a lot of mean posts on Connect, people criticizing others and just a lot of drama. Ugh, glad we have this supportive group.

Yes several of my favorite posters either left or went private. When you have over 10,000 followers people get jealous and nasty.

I'm surprised because I thought I'd heard that the WW censors didn't allow anything negative to stay on Connect. Maybe the censors graduated from middle school, too.

Just reminds me of what I don't miss about the old WW message boards. Never got into Connect. These boards are nice.

I looked at Connect after reading this and found out a few things.
1) They've added a feature that allows blocking members which prevents their content from appearing to you—so as I scrolled through, every time I saw a photo I didn't like or a post that was TMI about personal life, I just blocked that person. By the time I get done (if I continue), I could be down to me and Jean Nidetch—and she ain't posting anything these days.
2) What they NEED to do is emulate Facebook by allowing people to create their individual groups and then SPECIFY who a post is visible to. That may be the coming "groups" feature I heard rumored.

That may be the coming "groups" feature I heard rumored. I don’t go there often. I just don’t like the format. I have a small group I’ve chosen to follow. Every time I venture into the “general population”, it reminds me why I just follow my hand picked few.

I've checked it out once or twice, but don't like it. I don't have facebook, so I really don't understand how connect works since it's supposed to be similar to FB.
I think its interesting people are seeing mean posts, WW does SO much to have service providers promote that this is a "safe, caring, non-judgement zone". They want us to STRONGLY encourage members to use it. I don't
I've actually seen a type of shaming of members who don't use it

I've actually seen a type of shaming of members who don't use it This almost makes me wish I could go to a meeting so someone could try and shame me. They would remember the experience for the rest of their life.

We do have our Facebook group! LOL We include people who once attended our meetings too!

LOL. I think I'm actually a pretty nice person, but I would not take kindly to being "shamed" or pressured to use that substandard piece of cr** they call Connect. Frankly, I think it is a waste of bandwidth.
And before somebody has a hissy-fit, the above is just my opinion. I realize that some people seem to find those feet and belly pictures inspiring, or have figured out a way to use the platform in an appropriate, supportive manner. Just leave me out of it.

I use the Follow tab and ignore the New and Trending posts. If i am interested in a particular subject I'll search for a #subject. I follow people who inspire me, have great recipes or are just plain interesting. I usually find them through recommendations.

It's something I'm paying for but I don't know how to use it. What's with all the hashtag stuff? I've tried replying to some posts but the username and password I use to log into my account don't work. Apparently I need one of those # thingies but haven't clue where you get one. Roz

It isn't really like Facebook.
It is more like Twitter and Instagram had a baby.

I'm web-based and can only read, post to, and follow (if I can catch a person as the ORIGINATOR of a thread).
But in my meeting, I'm the one who brings up "on CONNECT this week..."
Of course, I was bringing up the Trending thread where folks were wishing for a place to record their water consumption... one of those tools that was eliminated in the last Big Improvements.
<meh>.
