If this hearing has proved anything at all, it has undeniably proved the need for term limits.

I think I'm getting officially depressed by this whole debacle. Kavanaugh's snakiness does nothing to convince me he is innocent. Who is he to throw back questions to the Dems to waste time?...just a person who won't face up to the truth of his drinking in highschool. Gosh, he just makes me want to hurl!
Guess, they fired "the assistant", then?...Guess those old white men thought she wasn't asking the right questions. I knew they wouldn't be able to stay quiet. What a sham!

After listening to Kavanugh he is the guy your parents warned you about and gave you mad money to get a cab home.

Kavanaugh is clearly demonstrating that he is panicked. He thinks he is entitled, and that anyone would dare question him makes him very belligerent. Clearly not behaving in anyway professional. He makes it very easy to see him as a mean drunk. I can see why the JA likes him. He comes across as mean, spiteful, and vengeful. He does not in anyway come across as a thoughtful jurist.

Thanks for the memory about the mad money, Anne. As my dad is slipping away, getting weaker everyday you made me smile. He never let me leave the house to go on a date without making sure I had money to call him to come get me. In our little community we didn't have taxis, but he always told me not to hesitate to call and he'd be there to get me. He always made sure I had that money in my pocket before I could leave home.

After all this, I will be very surprised if the Republicans don't all vote down the party line. Just as Senator Leahy said, they'll do exactly what the JA and Mitch McConnell tell them to do. I just hope that this will blow up in the Republicans face when it comes to a backlash from women. But regardless of whether it does or not, I believe Kavanaugh will be sitting on the SC. He will have gotten away with it all. Clearly his newly written opening statement was strictly a gambit to please the JA. He even brought the Clintons into it. Heck after that, the JA may disown Don Jr or Eric and adopt Kavanaugh in his place.

After watching him today, I don't think you can believe anything Kavanaugh says about any topic at all. He really disgusted me.

It was fascinating watching the talking heads (I happened to be watching on ABC). I'm talking about the news commentators. After Ford's testimony to a person they all thought Kavanaugh was toast. Then when Kavanaugh started testifying, the men started to swing a bit. Not that they necessarily believed him, but they thought he was doing a good job and that this was how someone falsely accused would react. The women analysts were like "are you kidding me?!" Rather disheartening.
Why can't one of these so-called moderate republicans fall on their sword for the good of the country and vote against confirmation. Just make the sacrifice. America needs you.

Well,if Republicans think they won the battle of not having any further investigations because they do not want Mark Judge to say a darn thing, I think they are just plain stupid, Because, some reporters, some independent investigators are going to dig & dig until the truth about Mark Judge comes out. He is going to be hounded forever as he should be. The truth will come but Kavanaugh will be seated on SC. Just a darn shame!

Trying to watch it objectively, other than evasive answers a few times, I didn't think he came across that bad. His hostility and indignity could be either because he's guilty or falsely accused, it's hard to say because the response is typical of either.
On the other hand: his whole "I work with/hire women all the time" struck me a lot like someone who's accused of being racist saying "I'm not a racist: I have lots of (insert racial) friends!"
I was also a bit lost on the beer stuff. He kept mentioning that he likes beer. Are we supposed to believe that's all he drinks? And alcohol is alcohol, beer, wine, whiskey: all can get you drunk. I still think there's a real possibility that he was drunk and doesn't remember doing it.
That being said, barring some serious back-peddling, I think he'll be confirmed today.
Ford came across stellarly though. She was totally believable and seemed genuine.

On a lighter note: Hillary Clintons cameo on Murphy Brown was very cute. Poking fun at herself with a lot of humor

I am still reeling from yesterday's hearing. I think Ford was totally credible. I was prepared to listen objectively to Kavanaugh but his opening raging rant bringing in conspiracy and even the Clintons completely turned me off. I don't know for sure whether he did it or not although I think it is likely. But I do feel like I know that rant told me he does not have the temperament to be a SC judge. Then when Lindsey Graham became unglued, it all snowballed down hill for me. I expect he will get confirmed. And that display yesterday was the absolute worst of American politics.

Oh Lindsey Graham acted like a total child. It was pathetic, IMO. He was so busy trying to bully everyone and shame them that he seems to have forgotten what his JOB is.
