Seeing a limitation on money for running a campaign would be great, but I agree will never happen. Still we can dream. If all candidates would donate 1/2 their campaign funds to the national debt, we'd be out of debt in a decade (ok not really, but they spend too danged much $$ on campaigning!)

Mike Pence is disappointed in Barack Obama. Really! Is he kidding?? I would think he would look hard at the sitting (I refuse to say it) because he's not my president.
IMO Pence is worse than Trump. Trump doesn't know any better he's just corrupt. Pence does know better or at least he should.
grrr..bad mood today.
Have a good one!

Allie1, I have to keep reminding myself, that JA is not worth stealing the joy from my days. Days/time we will never get back. But, like you, he puts me in a bad mood on many days too. I just keep hoping every day I wake up, he will be History! But, the way things are going, it sure gets discouraging that he is still sitting in the Oval Office destroying everything he touches. Hang in there & I hope you find some joy today.

I agree that Pence is terrible. The JA is a disaster with no concept of right or wrong, so I guess you can't call him a hypocrite because he has no conscience. As Allie said, Pence knows the difference between right and wrong and just doesn't care. So even if the JA gets tossed from office we're still doomed with Pence there. The only real hope is to hang on tightly and hope the whole bunch of them gets tossed out on their keisters for 2020. But can we possibly survive until then?
Pence is disappointed in President Obama! Give me a break! Pence isn't worthy to shine Obama's shoes. Obama is not perfect. I didn't always agree with him. But without question I always knew he had the good of the country at heart. I always knew he was a patriot. I always knew that he was a good man. And I always knew he was highly intelligent with a quick grasp of policy, and a keen desire to learn and always be well informed. And I was always proud to have him represent our country. He managed to get through 8 years in the White House with no scandals. The JA wasn't even able to get through 8 hrs before stirring up a controversy about crowd size. He's a joke, but unfortunately not a funny one.

Wow, sounds like Hurricane Florence is ramping up to be a huge storm...If any of you are in the path, stay safe, warm & dry. Wonder if the WH has ordered an extra supply of paper towels for JA to throw out, again. Idiot!

Has anyone ever read Pence's bio, particularly his time in college & when he was dating. What a judgmental prick he was then as he is now. He's a sneaky little thing just waiting for JA to tumble so he can take over. I hope they play on a 24 loop all his azz kissing statements he said about JA when JA is impeached or indicted. Everytime I see his wife, Karen, the word that comes to mind is, Submissive. UGH!

KAC & SHS have used the words cowardly & gutless when describing the Op-ed writer. LOL, I hope they play that on a loop too, when the person turns out to be someone they have praised & admired in the past....LOL

The JA's approval ratings with independents are lower than ever. That's good news. Do you think there is a chance that all his lying and constant berating of the legitimate press is ultimately going to leave him with no one supporting him but his corps base? I suppose there will always be a group of Republicans who will vote for anything with an R beside their name (admittedly there are some Democrats who are the same about a D), but if enough independents get fed up it's a very good sign for the mid-terms. In my fantasies I can see them all being marched out of the WH in a perp walk, but we all know that's to good to ever be true. While some may have to pay, ultimately the majority who have aided and abetted this travesty at both the WH and the Capitol will get away completely unscathed and probably with their pockets jingling.

Renee- Agree there should absolutely be a cap on campaign spending. Maybe if we leveled the playing more we could get some better contenders on both sides. I suppose there will always be a group of Republicans who will vote for anything with an R beside their name (admittedly there are some Democrats who are the same about a D),

We got'em on both sides of the fence. The base is the base is the base.....then we go up to the thinkers and there is our hope for the future.
Alli- Good to see you posting with us again! (((((hugs))))))))))

Linda- Pence was over and done after his term as Gov in Indiana,, bad, really bad.......then came Trump. I wouldn't trust the wife as far as I could throw her, she is as sneaky as he is. FYI my darlings, this is how we remember it happening, how it all started with a two bit shyster. "At the time, Trump was seen as something of a has-been by New York's chattering classes. He was a B-list celebrity known more for his topsy-turvy marriages, boom-and-bust business dealings and knack for getting ink in the New York tabloids. His main line of business focused on licensing the Trump brand to buildings and other commercial ventures, salvaging what he could from his well-known last name. " He was nothing, a zip! "Shyster /ˈʃaɪstər/ is a slang word for someone who acts in a disreputable, unethical, or unscrupulous way, especially in the practice of law, sometimes also politics or business." The rest of the story: www.cnn.com/2018/09/10/opinions/omarosa-made-trump-apprentice-wierson/index.htmlSome people just fell, (face plant) for the glitz and glib.

For a long time, many Americans have wanted to see the government run "like a business". Remember H Ross Perot? HE was a legitimate businessman, served his country in the Navy ans was awarded a medal for "Distinguished Public Service", but he was before his time running for the office.

Gosh, the phrase, "Time Flies" sure hit home today, when one realizes its been 17 years since the 911 attacks. I'm sure we all remember just about every moment of that day...I know I was glued to the TV & stunned at what was happening. Just tough tough for those that lost family & friends in these attacks. I hope they have found some peace in remembering their loved ones. I can't even imagine. My sister & her DH toured the Shanksville memorial & said it was something everyone should experience. It really hit home for them the time & personal touches that went into this memorial.

I had dropped my son off at school, and I thought I'd left the TV on a movie, then I realized it was real - very scary times. They wouldn't let us pick our kids up, they did a "shelter in place" thing (he was in 6th grade at the time), which made it hard because all I wanted to do was hold onto my "baby".
