This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

I missed posting yesterday and just skimmed the posts. Nice to see PKate and Melinda in the house. Andrea, good luck with the audit cycle-- seems like you just finished the last one.
MCat, I'm thinking of your family and sending prayers for both DM and DDad -- it is really hard to be far away.

You were missed, T!
DS1, DGF, and puppy are coming tonight. So happy! And DS2 finally got a job in food, after drifting around for almost a year, just performing and making next to nothing. I'm just happy he found something so he can use his culinary skills, and get paid.
Cold and clear here. I'm happy as long as the sun is shining.

Good Morning CATS! Nancy- I wish my DS1 would have gotten into culinary school. He showed up at a recently family dinner with fresh herbs & garlic in tow. He just has a good pallet for flavors. He works nights at a hotel & just loves the freedom that it brings his life. Imagine no stress in a job. Not much money either but he's getting by.
Nice post from Tina on fb about her DH joining her at the agency. She is so good with details. I hope it's fun having her DH as part of her team. He must be retiring from the school.
Sad news for our Colleen. I wouldn't like my life being put on hold for some political crap. I still don't understand the why of it all.
I bought a new memory foam topper thing to go in the pullout sofa sleeper in the new rv. That thing is amazing. I put it on the spare bed in the house & it expanded & raised 4 inches! I'm not sure if we can get both the current mattress and the topper to go in the couch. We will check it out tomorrow when we load up.
We went out to a nice dinner last night with another couple. I kept it at one beer. I felt sociable but I was able to watch the calories.
My family doctor figured out that I have some arthritis with my sacroiliac joint. The exercises for it are quite simple. In less than a week that nagging painful backache that I've had for almost 10 years is finally diminished. I'm truly shocked! If I made a fist and reached my left arm to my back that is where the pain was. He knew what it was. Even Mayo Clinic never knew. Eventually I may need some cortisone there. I guess it's hard to hit the right spot so they use dye. I'm going to keep doing the stretches.
Hoping everyone gets in their walking & water this weekend. Take care ladies.

Aloha, Long and Lovelies!
Whew! We made it to Friday! I have to say, for the most part if felt like things went fast, but the week just felt long with all the family drama.
The good news: DMom's cancer is slow-growing. Doctors feel confident that they can operate and remove the tumor, no chemo needed, and she just has a pill to take to avoid getting it again. Fingers crossed that they are right!!
And just got more good news: Just got off the phone with DDad and he had both cellulitis AND gout. They have everything under control and he is going home today. He asked that I fly up for DMom's surgery, which we will figure out, one way or another. DH is completely on board; such a good man!!!
DS takes his tour of Middle School today. Oh my! How they grow.....
XH chose yesterday to have a hissy fit and say he would "see me in court." Made both DH and I chuckle - seeing me in court would be to essentially enforce the custody schedule. Such a dumbass.
Melinda, that 5th wheel is amazing. I think it is bigger and nicer than my first apartment! When and where is the first trip? Florida, I think?
Andrea, I agree with T - it DOES feel like you were just wrapping up your last audit! LOL. Time flies!
Nancy, huzzah for DS2 and the food job! Such a tough industry.....Enjoy the visitors tonight!
PKate, I hope you can take a breathe this weekend!
Susan, how are things going with getting back on track?
Martha, how was the Thai?
Alrighty, I gotta hit the spreadsheets. I hope all is well! Thanks again for the support and prayers, ladies. I really couldn't do all of this without you!!!

I have to second the thanks again for the prayers and support! I couldn't do without you either! Yesterday was a good day for me. I can't go into any details, but I felt we moved forward some. I know that there might be two steps back coming soon, but for now, it felt good, and I'll take it.
Melinda, I know exactly how you feel when you try on the clothes from last season. For me, it's the stepping into the shorts and pulling them up, with your breath held quick, hoping things aren't as bad as you feared. I would check out the photos , but i'm not on FB. What's the news with Colleen? I left her a message when I read she might be moving. Where? plus, why isn't she on the boards? Mcat: Very positive news on the parental front. I'm happy for you. T: you were missed, of course. N: Enjoy the extra visitors in your home this weekend! Congrats to DS on job! That must be a relief! I met with a therapist this morning for my offspring. I liked her very much, and think it will be a nice fit. I must be in a soup mood. I made French Onion soup earlier this week, Wednesday I made Tomato Basil Soup and this weekend, i'm making Broccoli cheddar soup. I know that one isn't low calorie, but it is what it is. Hoping to get a workout in later this afternoon, since I cannot get it in tonight. Too much chauffeuring going on.

I want to jump on for a quick hello. I got hair therapy today. So needed and it was a grasping at straws that all fell together. I put two babies down for naps and my neighbor arrived and watched them and I went to my hairdresser who was inexplicably available.
Mcat holding good thoughts for you parents. And Freida I hope the person you chose as a guide is both nurturing and helpful. I hope you will keep DD in your prayers. They are repeating bloodtests and getting more tests. She will have major changes learning to take care of herself. It is always a jolt the first time a person has to encounter they are not invincible.
Dh is still a nonsmoker. I am grateful but not complacent about it. He quit for four months once and then decided he was going to just sample one every so often. He was like any smoker before the weekend was up.
I have decided to rejoin weight watchers. I have even reserved my times so I can go alone. As Nancy knows, thats rare and never to be taken for granted.
I am getting a closet pole put up in a storeroom. It's for my supply of farm coats and snowpants and boots. They are passed from kid to kids and generally bought at Goodwill in the summer when they are passed over til they reduce to 99 cents. Or are so pricey they set til I get them the morning they are reduced.
I hope your be back tomorrow.
