Good morning bee. They feel closed and clique-ish, just not a good fit for me. Like this morning, I'd really like some hacking wisdom on pancakes. I'm hooked on the new WW protein pancake, I'd like to make them at home, cheaper, but not less convenient. Any thoughts out there? How does that fit in a daily thread? How does it not get buried as multiple daily threads that keep getting bumped to the top of the page? (I do ingore them but they constantly get bumped back up to the top of the page or there's a new one because it's a new day, or someone posts on one from the previous day and it's bumped to the top of the page too.) I totally feel like I could post that on the general page.. but not so much on any other board here. About 6 months ago, I was having a terrible time when my son and his girlfriend of 5 years broke up, caused me a huge emotional upheaval that I could not share with my son...his x girlfriend...I shared it here on general in a separate post and got such wonderful support from the ladies here, it truly helped me, I read the responses over and over. How does that fit into a daily thread? There is a lot of love, support and caring amongst the members here, I appreciated that support more than I think they realized. A random thoughts thread would just be creating another daily thread, don't you think?

Jae, I realize I am older than dirt, but either one of those questions IMO would fit almost anywhere.
Like I said, start a Random Thoughts Thread. Some folks will go there and have fun. I won't be one of them as I don't like scrolling through a lot of pages. I may read the first page or two, then forget to come back for a few days --- and VOILA! --- you've got 7 pages. Not for me. BUT is for you. So, just do it.
You may have someone out in ProBoards Land that has created a kopycat recipe for those pancakes, who would be glad to share with you. Folks who like pancakes would be hopping in and discussing what they like or don't like about them.
My motto here or anywhere I go is --- take what I need from it, ignore the rest. Keeps me from getting stressed over next to nothing. JMO

I didn't go back far, but the only recurring threads I see in the General section are Tales from the Scale, the daily Checking In, and What are You Eating? It doesn't seem like it's "overrun".

Calling something that you don't like "obnoxious" is rude to all of those who participate.

*beats head on wall*
“Closed and clique-ish” are you serious? I hated that about the old boards when threads were closed and people were not made to feel welcome and I have all but put up flashing neons signs here that EVERYONE IS WELCOME ANYWHERE. And I know everyone on this site bends over backwards to make people feel at home because that is the group we have here. We have one rule, be civil and everyone here knows the drill.
If you want to start a post about pancakes start one, just like you do with all the other threads you have started.
