Kellyanne Conway, adviser to President Donald Trump, cited a nonexistent massacre to justify his highly controversial immigration ban.
Speaking to Chris Matthews on MSNBC on Thursday night, Conway said:
“I bet it’s brand-new information to people that President Obama had a six-month ban on the Iraqi refugee program after two Iraqis came here to this country, were radicalized and were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green massacre. Most people don’t know that because it didn’t get covered.” It also never happened.
Conway, who last month described the Trump administration’s spin as “alternative facts,” appears to be referring to an incident in 2011 when two Iraqi refugees were arrested in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Mohanad Shareef Hammadi and Waad Ramadan Alwan believed they were sending money and weapons to al Qaeda in Iraq when in fact, they were caught in an FBI sting operation.
While Hammadi and Alwan were convicted in 2013 of terrorism and are currently imprisoned, there was no massacre in Bowling Green nor were they accused of planning or attempting one................
Samatha Bee quote..."Kellyanne, you want a tu tu to go along with that spin?"

Ughhh! I just lost my post again. Don't know what I am doing to cause that. I've got to get used to this new keyboard.
Do you think Kelly Anne just makes these lies up on the spot, or does the WH communications office spend their days fabricating lies to be used as talking points? Not only did the massacre never happen, but President Obama never put a six month ban on Iraqi refugees. He did order the re-vetting of refugees in the country, which slowed down the process of vetting new ones but there was never any ban. I know that at some point in their career all politicians lie, but to blatantly lie about things that are so easily fact checked is just plain stupid. And to do it repeatedly with every interview is just moronic. Do they really think we are so dumb we will just accept anything they say and never question? If they are going to lie so easily about these things, how can we ever be expected to believe anything this administration says? Are Tweety's followers really so gullible or do they just not care that they are being blatantly lied to?
Linda, loved the Switzerland video. Many years ago I lived for a year in Switzerland. Absolutely loved it.

I think the media should put a "ban" out on KAC & the media should absolutely not give her a platform to spew her alternative facts aka LIES... I just heard someone mention that since KAC is paid with our tax dollars she should be held accountable for her words. Once again, she said she misspoke ( 13 hours later), blames the media blah blah blah... Once you ring the bell you can't unring it ...they know that & use it!

I agree about banning KAC from news/commentary reports. Everytime they have her on she lies, lies, lies! They should stand firm and say they will interview a spokesperson but they will NOT interview KAC, and if the next spokesperson repeatedly lies about easily checked facts then ban that one too. KAC has become a farce. Sooner or later she's going to do something that hits Tweety the wrong way at just the right moment and she'll be banished from the castle. Hope that comes soon. I have reached the point that I switch channels when I see her come on, because what's the point of listening to her since it's going to be lies anyway. Tweety likes to bash the media, but he needs them to get his twisted message out. He wants to be in their spotlight. If they refuse to interview KAC, he'll dump her because he can't bear to not be center stage with the light shining brightly on him.

Good morning my lovelies
I think she brings a few words to the interview, then makes it a point not to confuse the issue with facts!

The only one I've seen really confront her & get tough with what she says is Chuck Todd on MTP a couple Sunday's ago....she was getting Pizzed & tried to smack back with silly insults against Todd but he was having none of it. I wonder if she will show up on MTP anytime soon. Chris Matthews gave her a pass last night & for him to lead off with her at his townhall left a bad taste in my mouth.

I didn't see the interview, but that surprises me that Chris Matthews gave her a pass. Also didn't see Chuck Todd, but my FB has had a lot of Republican posts complaining about CT's interview with KAC. Apparently, there are some people I know (even in my own extended family) who enjoy being lied to and don't like it when the liar is called to task. I'd like to see Rachel interview her. I hope she would not give her a pass.

With each new morning come fresh new horrors. Legislation to permit churches to contribute to political campaigns. Move over Citizens United, the Christian Taliban wants to join you in the pork barrel. And while we're at it, let's dump coal mine waste right back into our streams and rivers. Why should those people in Flint have all the fun? Then we'll go out and shoot all the endangered wolves just to make sure they go extinct. Another notch in the Republicans' belts. How can they look at themselves in the mirror?

When a vampire looks in the mirror there is no reflection. You need a heart and soul to have a reflection. I hate it here now. Not proud to be an American.

U.S. Senator Al Franken 27 mins · Donald Trump ran for President on a promise to fight for workers and support struggling American families. He attacked his opponents and challengers by calling them puppets of wealthy bankers and big corporations. And while the banks that would have crumbled in 2008 before being thrown a life preserver by the American taxpayer were deemed “too big to fail,” Donald Trump convinced voters that he was “too big to be bought.” But hey, so much for promises. Two weeks after being inaugurated, it seems President Trump has decided that maybe Wall Street just ain’t so bad. Today, in a dangerous move, President Trump took steps to rip apart the Dodd-Frank law, which includes critical financial protections I helped write to crack down on Wall Street and prevent another economic meltdown like the one we experienced nearly a decade ago—where millions of hard-working Americans lost their jobs, homes, retirement saves, and entire way of life. And why is he taking a hatchet to these important financial safeguards? Because, in his own words, “…frankly, I have so many people, friends of mine that had nice businesses, they can’t borrow money.” Did you catch that? He wants to tear apart Dodd-Frank so that his super rich buddies can make more money. This is outrageous, immoral, and it’s antithetical to the platform that he ran on. The American people deserve a President who puts the livelihoods of families first, not one whose primary goal is to gift his rich friends on Wall Street with cold hard cash.
