Wow I can't believe it's October already. Better start Christmas shopping lol. SO September wasn't awful eating wise. I did get a little bored so I've been perusing (aka: pintersting lol) Mediterranean recipes to kind of add a different flavor profile. I was kind of in a Mexican food rut last month, so this could be a good change. Hop everyone gets the month off to a good start

Hello Everyone - Welcome to another month, hope it's a good one for everyone DotRen - thanks for starting our thread. I'm glad you did good with your eating last month, hope you enjoy the new recipes. I lost 1.5 pounds for the month, so I'll take that. I can tell my body has adjusted to this weight and is really resisting losing anymore even with my calories/points cut way back. The downfall of overeating

DotRen, thanks for the October start!! Hope you like the new recipes.
CJ59, congrats on the September loss!!
Waving to all. I am behind so need to catch up. Saturday was a beautiful day for our little Maddie. For a 3 year old she was so full of life.
I saw some pictures of me on FB from the celebration. OMG I am so freaking big. Embarrassing to say the least. Time to buckle down.

Hello Everyone sunrose - I'm glad you had a beautiful day to remember your little great-niece. It sounds like she left an impression on many lives. I did do some overeating yesterday, but it was kind of planned and I tracked it all. I'm back on plan again today and hoping to stay that way for a few days. I'll probably have another high point day later this week. After that I'm hoping that the rest of October I can be mostly on plan. I need to stay in control as we get closer to the holidays. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans.

Hello Everyone
I hope all of you aren't doing as badly this week as I am - since there aren't any posts here.
I knew this week was going to be tough and it is, but I'll get back on track after this weekend. I had a few not too bad days this week, and a few really bad overeating days. I won't let it go on much longer though.
Hope everyone else is sticking to their plans and that you have a great weekend!

Hi DotRen - I'm glad to hear you're doing O.K. and enjoying the new recipes and dishes I'm overeating some today, but it's not too bad and I make sure to still eat some fruits and vegetables and a dairy. I also get in my walking and water and track my food, so at least I've learned some good habits that I don't break even when I don't eat on plan. That's more than I've ever done before when I was dieting, so I'm glad that I've been able to do that. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans.

Sorry for being MIA again. I have been trying to get my walks in early. I really don't get on the computer in the afternoon.
cj59, my great-niece did leave such an impact at just 3 years old. Keep working the plan. You are doing great and we all have those days.
dotren, hope you are enjoying the new dishes.
Waving to all. I went to my WW meeting yesterday, then to the movies to see A Start Is Born (loved it), then dinner. It was such a good day. I lost 3.5 at my meeting. I started walking again with a neighbor. I think that helped.

Good morning! Boy it has been a hectic week lol. I mentioned that son had an accident 2 weeks ago. We went to pick his car up on Wednesday last week and it looked fantastic...but it wouldn't start! The dealership said it "was fine up until now" (which I don't really believe). So after an hour of them trying to jump start it (really?!) son said "find out what the problem is and call". So the next day he had to call them (?!) and they said the starter went out. The guy said to call insurance and see if they will cover it as part of the accident (it wasn't!) and I told son just to pay out of pocket. My thinking is: the damage they paid for is very nearly the value of the car (it's an older car), and if he tacks this additional $500 on it, they might just total it and not cover it anymore. That may or may not be the case, but additionally it was not accident related and I wasn't going to let him be talked into fraud (and it's DH and my policy- so NO.). The day we dropped his car off, he was going to use my car until it was ready, my brakes started making a grinding sound. Luckily we have some fantastic mechanics locally and they got the front brake job done the same day, even did a pick-up and drop-off for the car. Sometimes I love small towns lol Then, a credit collections agency called my son to try and locate his (soon to be ex)boss because he hasn't been paying his credit cards that he attached to the business. I posted a little about it on the main board here. Argh! The owner seems like a nice enough guy, but he is an awful businessman. He didn't pay a lot of bills associated with the tutoring centers he bought, and he still hasn't refunded the clients from the one he closed over a month ago (to my knowledge, as of last week). Some people are just not suited to run businesses I guess. Anyway, other than that, things are going pretty well.

Hello Everyone sunrose - Congratulations on the weight loss! I'm glad you've found someone to walk with too. DotRen - What a mess with your son's car, hope it works well now that everything is fixed. That's also a mess with the former employer. I think you're right that some people aren't capable of running a business. I guess I'm doing pretty well, even though I've still been overeating some. I try to hold onto my good habits though, so I'm not completely off track. I think I'm going to have to try something different though just to mix things up. I do feel like I'm stuck in a rut and not in a losing weight mode. I might try tracking food on my FitBit account or in MFP. Hope everyone else is doing well today and that you all have a great week!

cj59, I dumped the WW site, I found it wasn't realistic on calories. MFP is much better for "real" information, I think.

Good morning
dotren, wow what a mess. Glad your son did not get hurt (well hopefully not I'm so far behind on posts).
cj59, seems several people I know use mfp and do great with it. I've been trying to track with the new WW app.
Waving to all. I've been messing up again. I was doing so good. Ugh....it is humid here today. Where is Fall!!

sunrose49, no, he was shaken up emotionally, but he wasn't hurt (neither was the other driver or his passenger). We finally got the police report (did you know you have to BUY them?! I'd think the people involved would get a copy free.), and since there were no witnesses, they were both "at fault". It said son disregarded the light (he didn't) but that the other driver failed to yield while making a left turn(which is more at-fault according to insurance, I think). So who knows?!

So funny. We just got back from *trying* to get sons car from the dealership. We couldn't because they had a transformer blow out and they had no power! The car is ready but he couldn't check out/paperwork. Good grief lol.

Hello Everyone DotRen - I hope things work out with the insurance for your son. I found out recently about having to pay for police reports too. Someone drove up in my yard and knocked down part of a fence. Since the fence was really old I didn't bother with insurance, but I also didn't pay for the police report either. It is really sad that we can't get a free copy anymore! sunrose - I'll join you in messing up, we'll get it back together, I know it I'm about half on, half off program. At least I'm still tracking, doing my walking, getting in my water and trying to eat fruits, vegetables and dairy. I don't have a lot of junk food in the house, so that helps. I made some of the 2 Ingredient Dough bagels today, and put cinnamon and raisins in them. I like to toast them after they are baked. I also like to put I Can't Believe it's Not Butter spread on them and extra cinnamon sugar
