nashville11 , I know. This latest BS is simultaneously outrageously an off-the-charts overreach of executive power, and also the logical next step in you-know-who's effort to smash the constitution. I don't believe it's remotely within his power, but it gets everyone's attention. Once again.

Warms my heart that McConnell, Ryan, Schummer & Pelosi turned down invites to travel with JA to Pittsburg. He is clearly not wanted there today, but of course, he ignores others needs over his own need.

What's really absurd to me with the immigration issue is that we keep hearing Conservatives say they want judges who will strictly follow the Constitution, and yet they don't raise a peep when this JA blatantly talks about throwing it out the window. How hypocritical is that?!
Linda, I agree that this trip to Pittsburgh is strictly an issue for his own ego. He is totally incapable of feeling any empathy for anyone, he could care less what happened in Pittsburgh or what happens anywhere else in this country other than how it directly affects him and his constant need to have his ego stroked.

Billboards Claiming Vaccines ‘Kill’ Children Cropping Up Across The Country At least 30 such billboards have appeared in West Virginia, New York, Missouri and elsewhere, prompting concerns among medical experts. By Dominique Mosbergen....Huff Post
This worries me that this question of immunizations is being brought into the dialog again, especially in this political climate. I understand that many have questions about immunizations, but time & again it has been proven that immunizations are safe for the vast majority. If we go down this road again where many many parents question this & laws are changed so immunization are not required for school admittance, can you just imagine the rise in measles, mumps, & other diseases these immunizations cover. I would hate to have my Granddaughters worry while they are pregnant that they may come in contact with a measles carrier because a parent didn't believe in immunizations.
Good Grief, some days I can just worry myself to death...Are there support groups for news/political junkies?!?!.....I think I had better go find my happy place & brew a cup of tea.

The backlash against immunizations scares me too, Linda. It seems like we've come such a long way forward, slammed on the brakes, and now are heading backwards at an excessive rate of speed.

Hi Conniefromct! Welcome to the board! Please stick around and keep on posting it's nice to have you here. That's quite an eye opener about Joe Biden. Gave me something to seriously think about. Thinking is always a good thing especially at my age. It's difficult to step back a few steps and allow the younger generation to step forward. I remember how I felt about people who are my age now when I was their age. I wondered why it was so difficult for them to let go and just trust us.

Are there support groups for news/political junkies?!?!.... If not there should be! I do feel powerless over the state of politics today and at times my life does feel unmanageable. I do believe I need Something other than myself to restore my sanity. Just about everyone I know feels the exact same way.

Birdgal (and all), thanks for the warm welcome. I don't have cable news - we have basic basic plus Netflix and HBO (mostly for Bill Maher) - so between internet for news, and the "paper paper", and some YouTube stuff like John Oliver and Seth Myers for laughs - I really feel I get much less saturating my brain than friends of mine who have their TV's on all the time. Helps with the sanity, I think.
I sure hope our younger generations will get out there and vote!!
You mentioned changing your avatar but I have to tell you, I love that bird! Especially at Halloween. You do know that crows are super smart, right?

I hope no one will misunderstand and take this the wrong way, but did anyone other than me think about the JA's statement at a rally once of, "Look at my African American over there," when they heard that Ivanka and Jared were accompanying him to Pittsburgh? Sorry, but that was the first thing that popped into my head.

I remember JA saying that at his rally. Yes, I thought too, Jared & Ivanka make perfect props. I'm surprised he isn't taking the Grandkids too. I'm not even going to say sorry for thinking this. After the last few years of JA, so many things "pop into my head"....:-(...

I love that bird! Especially at Halloween. You do know that crows are super smart, right? I love your new avatar! It's impossible to feel low when hummingbirds are around. Yes, I do know crows are super smart. They know how to use tools to get food. When I was a kid we had a friend of the family who had a pet crow. The guy would make a ball out of tin foil, throw it in the yard, the crow would fly over there fetch the ball and bring it back for Billy to throw again and again and again. lol. I'm not changing my avatar. I love my crow too! lol.

DH was supposed to meet me for lunch, but after I arrived called and said he wasn't going to be able to make it. So I'm sitting here with nothing better to do than eavesdrop on the people at the table behind me. The guy just enthusiastically praised the JA for his "plan" to do away with birthright citizenship. Clearly this guy is not too bright even if he is wearing the shirt of one of our local colleges. He must have skipped the history classes. I better get up and leave before I lose my better judgment and tell him just how dumb he is. LOL! Leaving now . . .

I wonder how the WH will spin the fact that protests are now cropping up as JA has landed in Pittsburg. What is happening, is exactly what the city leaders feared would happen on the day they are having funerals & the community is mourning. You can hardly call these protesters paid mobs, etc. but somehow, they will spin it to slam Dems. This could have been avoided if he had just come another day, but of course, his schedule takes presedence. He surely can't cancel a rally or two. (insert sarcasm )...

I feel so badly for the grieving families who are trying to cope and bury their loved ones with dignity that they are having to tolerate the JA making a spectacle of this and trying to score political points off the deaths of people they love. And you're right, Linda, God forbid that he reschedule a rally in order to visit the city another time. For him it's all about him all the time.
