 I hope you are right, Anne. I hope that independents and Democrats will come out in force. Sometimes I worry that instead people will just give up because they are so discouraged right now. IF discouragement doesn't take center stage, then yes, there will be a huge backlash. The majority of the country despises the JA and everything he stands for, but that won't do a bit of good unless we all make our voices heard at the polls.

Wonder if Susan Rice really will challenge Susan Collins? I am so turned off by Susan Collins! It's not so much that I mind that she voted for Kavanaugh as it is that she tried to put a female face on the whole Republican debacle with that speech she gave and having women sitting behind her as she did it. I can buy that the farce of an investigation didn't provide any actual proof that Kavanaugh did assault Dr. Ford. I could even accept that a real investigation, if they had conducted one, might not have found any proof at this late date. But she clearly saw how he comported himself during the hearing. And then to say she has no doubt that Dr Ford was sexually assaulted, but just not by Kavanaugh. Give me a break!!! I don't think you're going to forget the face of the body pressing into you with his hand over your mouth while you're struggling to escape. So if Dr. Ford says it was Kavanaugh, I believe her. Without proof, however, there's not a lot that can be done with just he said/she said. But Susan Collins sold out women everywhere by acting like we're all just idiots who wouldn't necessarily know who sexually assaulted us. We're just too fragile to remember such a thing. That just disgusts me with Susan Collins.
