Hope my computer lets me finish this post.. it's really been touchy tonight.. clicking off right when I'm in the middle of something.. very frustrating.
Cat, we will wait for Friday for another QOTD.. love those things. But for now, maybe someone would be interested in knowing that Oct 3rd is
National Boyfriends Day and National Kale Day - first Wednesday of October and Techies Day and Virus Appreciation Day
Hm if I had to say anything about any of this I would wonder how in the heck one could appreciate a virus? And on that note, I will hit the create button before my computer shuts off by itself.

Debbie's attorney called her last night since she wasn't able to get her into the office. She said from now on she's not to respond to Jeff's texts as he has gotten to the stage of disrespecting Debbie and her religion and that's totally unnecessary. His attorney stayed on for one more week so did send a response to Debbie's proposal. He felt it unfair to be asked to look at ten places a week for a job and felt three was more than enough, Debbie's attorney will agree to five since she said he's so pathetic, he wanted his truck and their car reappraised on blue book value which Debbie said fine but he wanted access to Maija's savings and checking accounts since Debbie has access. Debbie said she only had access because Maija was underage when it was opened but she'll take her name off as no way will she allow him to have access and why in the world does he want that? But the big thing and Debbie's attorney said she would doublecheck is they had said once the farm sold alimony would stop and he did not show objection to that so it's possible by December that would end. He did object to any amount of money he make being deducted from the alimony saying that just was not fair. Debbie said that's fine as once the alimony stops he will have to pay her child support and his portion of the school tuition starting in January until April but the tuition he will have to pay part of until she is finished with all her education. Plus he was told at the beginning of September to start looking for a job and he hasn't so he won't have a paycheck anyway. Her attorney agreed it was a good idea to forget about buying him out on the house and to find another but don't close any deals until the divorce is final which hopefully will be November 5th. She did see one her and Maija love. It's a duplex and the basement is finished like a separate apartment. She has an appointment to see it at 7 tonight and asked us to go along. Maija's pretty excited and it's about 17 years old. Her attorney said if the owners will go along Debbie could sign a contract to rent until the divorce is final and then buy it, that is if after seeing it she wants to buy it. But I think it takes 30-60 days to close a deal so it's possible the deal wouldn't close until after the divorce is final anyway. But she can check with her realtor on that as she would be more savvy on that than a divorce lawyer would be. If Jeff doesn't buy her out and the house goes up for sale we would loan her the down payment.
The kitten played way too rough yesterday and grabbed onto my arm and drew blood. The way it looked Fred said did he bite you? I said no he just had one paw dig in with all claws out so it was the shape of the paw. But it got so wild and went after Bailey but this time Bailey stood her ground and really growled and the kitten went into a very submissive stance and now Bailey realizes there's nothing to fear and started playing with it like Bridgette does. So no more fear by either of my girls but no aggression now either as I think the kitten knows it's boundary with them.

Good Morning Cat and Awesome Augusts,
This morning it was 72º and a stray thunderstorm is possible this morning and going up to 91º partly cloudy and windy with wind SW 20 to 30 mph. I’ll enjoy it today because it will only go up to 55º tomorrow.
The Home Health nurse came to check on me yesterday. A speech therapist came yesterday too and gave me some new exercises to do.
The doctor decided to put Rachael on a heart monitor for a day to see if any problems come up. She sometimes has chest pain and we aren’t sure if it is her heart or something else, so I hope this will give us some answers. MJ took her to the doctor’s office to have it put on and then took her to school yesterday. She can take it off this morning and MJ will take it back to the doctor’s office.
The landlord came by to pick up the rent check for this month and MJ mentioned that we have a lot of light bulbs burned out and we can’t reach them. He came back later with a ladder and replaced the burned-out bulbs. He didn’t have an explanation for why they were going out one after another. The fixtures in almost all the rooms have four bulbs in them.

Prayers for Rachael. Oh, Sandy, what a mess. It is so hard to think about all y'all are dealing with.
Doris, we are to get to 88 today. Not as warm as you but summer is definitely back.
No sleep till after 3 this morning. I got up and sat in my recliner and did doze some. I keep trying to take garlic pills and keep giving them up. I added them back yesterday because of the mosquitoes. But I am pretty sure they are what makes me sting and itch all over. Grrrrrrrr!
Gym, Silver Sneakers, dermatologist, pick up prescription refill, drop off stuff I cleared off the porch yesterday. Bunch of picture frames. I just don't think I will ever paint again. Someone else can clean them up and use them. Probably have a Whataburger.
Last cuppa coffee going down. Have a great Wednesday, hump day. Less Mowing Lucy

Hi!
Sandy, Prayers for your family during this hard time. Hope everything is settled Nov 5. Doris, hope MJ's gets resolved soon.
71º to 88º today. This morning we went to DH's doctor for his post-op check -- very early! He is doing great! No pt -- just do the exercises he already knows. Amazing how fast he has recovered. I still have some fever with the virus, I guess. So I will stay home from dominoes. Bummer....
I still get very tired. Think I will just take it easy today.
Have a happy day! Diane

I met a new resident today. She is retired from Safeway and was a baker. She can show our cooks from baking tips, I hope.
Bacon was cooked brown. I passed.
Nice day here.
I was up at three. Not fun.
Health to all.

Lucy,
You are right about fall in the south, but I'm back in Nebraska now and not looking forward to the cold winter coming up. Right now we are having a lot of up and down highs and I'll be happy to keep the highs for a while longer.

It is 69° and we did have rain last night and tornadoes north of us. I am wearing capris but do have a sweat shirt on and no the fall and winter clothes are still in basement. I do have one small tote with a few sweaters in it that I may bring up today, fall colors and not too heavy. Like Doris the cooler temps are nice especially at night and my window in bedroom is open all the time. Rest of week is going to be busy. Tomorrow going for my 2nd shingles shot, pharmacy called me this morning to remind me it is time. Plus flu shot on Saturday at my Dr office. Every one was talking about the co pay for the shingles vaccine but mine is not bad at all. Glad to go it even if it was.
We are going to orchard Friday afternoon. both MacIntosh and Cortlands are ready. plus some new ones I would like to taste. I like a firm tart apple. Planning on making some apple dumplings and then freezing them. didn't do that last year and we all missed them.
Sandy, believe me when I say the drama will never cease with Jeff but my Grandkids learned how to deal with their Dad, mostly just ignore which was easier after 18. He never had to contribute after that and he never did. Still doesn't and is still a jerk. He does not know what he is missing from his life-- a good rapport with his own kids.
