When we went traveling around the United States, I was impressed with some of the Midwest states and how clean their roads are.. I mean along side the roads even in farm country.. Another thing that impressed me were the Rest Stops in some states.. Minnesota had the cleanest rest rooms and the most welcoming rest areas.. Georgia offered cookies and coffee at their rest areas. I was impressed by Pennsylvanias lack of fences between the neighbors houses.. But the state that I found I liked best.. was Tennessee.. Of course all of these areas were not in populated cities.. those are a whole 'nother story.
Welcome to this world.. Emma Louise.. Good old fashioned real name. Love it. My second daughters middle name is Louise and my granddaughters middle name is Emma. Love those names that no one used for years.. but now they are going back to them..
Hubby is having his knee replaced today. My son and daughter will be there with him.. I will stay home.
The special days for today are.... American Touch Tag Day
and Columbus Day - second Monday of October
National food day.. Fluffernutter Day
Recipe of the Day: Pumpkin Frappe

No plans for today but it's $5 chicken bucket day at our Hy-Vee so will get that for dinner.
Going to get in the upper 80's for the next few days so turning the a/c back on as it will also be very humid and rainy and then bam Thursday high in the 50's!
Debbie bought a baby gate for the bedroom Maybean is in as somehow the dogs kept getting back there and eating his food but after she put it up she had to leave an opening at the bottom as Maybean wouldn't climb it but will go under and the dogs can't get through that. So Bridgette spent a lot of time sitting by the door pouting!

Good Morning Cat and Awesome Autumns,
Today it was 54º and cloudy and overcast with showers in the morning and going up to 63º and cloudy with rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon and wind ENE 5 to 10 mph. We are in a flood watch until Wednesday with the rain.
I think the only person scheduled to come today is the speech therapist. Maybe the social worker will come today since she didn’t get here Saturday.
Yesterday MJ, Hannah and I went to Trinity Lutheran Church where we have asked our membership to be transferred. The service was very nice, and the pastor prayed for our family in the prayer time. The people are very friendly too. Rachael and Sarah stayed home since Sarah had a fever and Rachael’s POTS was making her feel miserable.
For supper we had a chicken, rice, green beans, carrots dish seasoned with soy sauce and it was good – memories of Japanese food when we lived there.
The rest of the day was quiet, and I spent some time in my comfortable chair reading another mystery on my Kindle.

I think I would like to live in Alaska but only during the warm season. I would want to escape for winter. Maybe winter in Hawaii.

Good morning!
Another busy day today. Wonder if I'll ever get a spot of rest.
I would like to try living somewhere where it's warmer in winter. However, I want to be near the grandkids, so guess I'm limited to Missouri!
Welcome to the world Emma Louise! My cousin's name is Emily Louise. Very similar. She is a cardiac nurse now. Very VERY bright. I'm sure Emma is as well.
Hmm. Wonder if our Hyvee has that $5 bucket?? Guess I should check -- although I just fried 7.5 lbs. of chicken tenders last night. Probably don't need more chicken!
Gotta run! Hope all of you have a wonderful day!

Good morning!
What state other here in Oklahoma? Probably Missouri. We lived in Columbia for two years and loved it. We visit Branson every year for a week, and we love that time too. I am taking my cranberry pill three-four times a day right now. Today is a normal busy Monday. DH has gone to pick up the groceries, and I will put them away when he gets back -- with his help, of course. The first load of laundry is put away and the second is in the dryer. Sandy, I am so glad you came back. When my son was going through his divorce, and later when I was having chemo, I honestly think it was the people on here who kept me sane. Please don't think your venting is a problem for your sisters here! Emma Louise -- lovely! Sounds like everyone is doing well today! Have a happy day! Diane

Good morning everyone, It is already hot and humid and to be 89° but a cooling front coming after tomorrow. Hooray. Noticing some leaves starting to change, the burning bushes are not quite all brilliant red but getting there. My maple trees are dropping leaves a lot but those on the trees are coming. we have not had a frost so just the shorter days are doing the leaf turning so far. The cherry tree across the street is getting red as well now that all the cherries are gone
thanks for all the lovely comments on Emma Louise. I am hoping for a visit this week at her home in day or two. They get to go home today. Hope she settles in quickly. Her Daddy has time off too so that is good.
I am trying to set up lunch with some high school friends and thank goodness it us only 6 of us. Mondays around here most nice restaurants are closed.
Where would I like to live. Well I have lived in Ga and spent lot of time in Florida, and really do love the area in W.Va where my DGD#2 lives ,, but think I will stay right here in Pa. Love it here. even the winters. If I had been asked years ago the answer might have been different. Not as flexible these days.
Off to get my perm. and will make appointment to get hair colored as well in a few days.

Good morning Awesome Autumn Ladies!!!
It is a sunny beautiful day here in the neighborhood this morning!!! 73° Now but going up to 87° again today. I would go set outside with Sammy for a while but The end of the back yard by the fence is to muddy for Sammy to run in. I guess I could wash him of on the deck when we get done. I think I'll do that for him it will make him so happy!!! We had a really busy day here yesterday celebrating Teds birthday! Jack just loved it. Jack and I didn't find anything we liked at Walmart yesterday so we have a trip Planed for next weekend to go to Bass Pro Shop to get Grandpa something for his birthday. Jack wanted to go after school today and I told him that has to be a weekend trip!! So he said ok. Rob smoked a whole chicken yesterday for Grandpas birthday dinner. We had backed butternut squash!! Boy was that good. They went out in the garden and picked more tomatillos tomatoes and Rob made more Smoked salsa Verde!!! We had a bad storm before they got the vegetables all picked so they came back in and waited a little while then went back out. Ted picked more butternut squash This morning!! Sandy, I love the story about the baby gate and Maybean figuring out to go under it, Poor Bridget .We keep Antonio's food up on the breakfast bar so Sammy can't eat it. We don't use the breakfast bar in this kitchen because it sticks out into the great room. I have plenty of counter space in this kitchen that I don't need to use the bar. I use the end of it to set my laptop on when I'm charging it and Antonio doesn't bother it. Before we got Antonio and my bedroom door stayed open we put Sophie's food on the marble top end of our bathtub. Sammy never bothered it up there. Rob made Jack get all his toys off the basement breakfast bar yesterday he said someone might want to use that bar.
I decided yesterday that I'm buying a new tv for down there!! It is a 52" tv but the picture is getting to dark on it. It is the first big tv we bought. So I guess I'll be watching the adds for a good price on one. Rob witches tv down there all the time.
Cat, the flowers you posted is the ones I love for fall only mine are a reddish orange. I have a clump in my barrel in front of my front porch. I tried to take a picture of it for my avatar but won't work here.

PeggySue, tell Sammy to get ready for serious walking this afternoon.
I went to a deep breathing class, take in three short breaths, blow out while humming at same time!
Rain in the valley!
