This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Nancy, this is a safe place to face the music and be ready to dance again.
I share your pain, but I have not taken any of the self-control steps you are already doing, and so my health gap is much heftier.
I avoided work all weekend, which means I have created greater pressure for myself. On weekends I need to recharge.
DD and I walked out of La Land Land with nearly identical reactions. Emma Stone was not well-cast for a role requiring singing and dancing; Ryan G. was very good.Still, we enjoyed it.
Time to pack a decent lunch and try to get some stretches in.

Good morning, dear coffee buddy. Thanks so much for the validation.
I crashed most of the day yesterday after fixing a good breakfast for our guests. After they headed home, I fell headfirst into my Kindle and didn't resurface until the Bushs made their entrance at the Superbowl. I did not sleep well; by 3 a.m. I still hadn't fallen off to a deep sleep, so I'm headachey. Probably not the best way to begin what has the makings of an 10 hour workday on my feet. At least I know I'll sleep well tonight!
Because of my Sunday "day off" mentality, I'm not as prepared for the week as I'd like, although my FitBit gadgets are all synced and charged, desk clear, and while still full, the dishwasher is clean. I'll take an apple and protein bar for lunch; that's all I'll have time to eat anyway. Wishing I'd taken the time to bake some eggs. I can still cook a couple in the microwave for breakfast; scrambled instead of hard cooked works for me.
Heading into Monday with good intentions and a positive attitude!

Aloha, Long and Lovelies!!!
DH and I had a lovely weekend, just the two of us. Spoke to DMom and DDad twice, and they are both doing great. Here's to having things get back to "normal" (still not quite sure what that is anymore!).
Nancy, sorry to hear you feel down on where you are at, but I know that you can get to where you want to be. I agree with T - this is the place for facing the music and dancing on.
Frieda, I agree that it sounds great to have a new house and a new start. I'm so glad you can check in and let us know how things are going, even generally speaking. I saw that article about the she shed in the WSJ too. I am just not that chick.
Melinda, I liked Frieda's idea of your friend visiting you in Florida. Any chance at all of that?
Shari! You have a town and will be within driving distance of Susan! How awesome is that?! I liked Frieda's suggestion of sorting while packing. It will save you a lot of grief and aggravation later.
Linda, I remember having a basement closet when we lived in Milwaukee, where all of the winter things had to go. Just line them up! Glad to hear your DH is still smoke free, even if you do still need to be vigilant.
I must get to the meetings.......have a great day ladies!!!!

GM my cats! Nancy, feel free to throw it all out there! We are all there with you in solidarity. I think you know what to do, and it sounds like you really have the eating under control. Is there any way you can schedule yourself back onto the TM? That way, come May things will be good. I need to resynch my Aria to our new network too. The TM has been my saving grace. TM+Netflix=LOVE
Missy: what a relief on your parents end. When are you going back out this way?
T: I didn't really like that movie. I certainly wouldn't call it oscar worthy--imho
I have no news on any front. I'm dressed to wo, but I think I'll do it later. I really want to get the house put back together. It's become messy.
I'll stop by later.

Nancy- the good news is that today is a new day. It's never too late to get OP and get in your WO. I know you can do it. It's all about scheduling & taking time for yourself. It's easy in winter to wear the big sweatshirts but summer will be here soon & you will want to wear lighter clothes. So let's get moving lady!! Sorry for the rough night of sleep. MCAT- congrats on kick xxx video! You are one tough cookie. T- I can't say enough about the stretches I've been doing for my back. Unbelievable how well they work. Check this out. ahc.aurorahealthcare.org/fywb/x11635.pdfI would like to have my GF visit while I'm in FL but I looked at the cheaper flights & it would mean her staying for 7 days and I don't want that. My time is so short with DH anyway. Last year we had the grands there for the Walt Disney World experience & it was so crazy! I'm ready to relax. They have ponds all over the place & I like to start each day with a long walk with DH. He won't be shooting yet so I'm ready to get bored. We watched a whole season on Netflix - The Travelers. It was good. The Superbowl was off the charts. So fun! I did get on the TM yesterday and I did keep the drinking down this weekend. The scale is still a long way from where I want it to be. Take care ladies!

Shari, I would like to recommend UsedCardboardBoxes.com; you can order by the size of the space you are packing. They send clean, flat boxes that have been used to ship merchandise, so you are doing a little good to keep the landfill lighter while you pack up.
Frieda, I hear you about the weekends for you. Great news about the therapist for the DDs.
I have to say, I was very happy to get to the end of my teen class Saturday afternoon, and contemplate a little down time, after a few very busy weeks with few pauses of any kind. DH & I spent some quality time first with the paper, then with Gym yesterday. We finally started to hang some framed things on the walls of this house; it feels like such a commitment now that we own it!
T., my weathervane would have Shakespeare on one side and a protest sign on the other!
Nancy, if itβs any consolation, we all slip up and lose track. (I gained in the fall because my schedule was bananas and I got indulgent about sweet snacks to keep me going from one rehearsal to the next; Iβm working that off now.) And you are right; you know exactly what to do.
MCAT, great news on the parental health front!
Appropos of losing my fluff, I walked DH to work, and circled back around via the lake. A little chilly here in my garrett this morning. Slowly getting caught back up with everything ...

Hello everyone. It feels a bit like Monday here to me. It's a bright, sunny and warm day so I'm hoping my mood will lift as the day goes on. Perhaps a walk around the block at lunchtime? My team lost last night - a big letdown after such a fun buildup. Oh well. The baby back ribs and chicken wings were great!
I'm so excited for your move Shari! Cary is literally a stone's throw from me, and one of my favorite yarn stores is in its downtown. I definitely look forward to some CAT tea meetings!
Freida, I too think a fresh start might be just the thing. I'm continuing to send good thoughts your way!
Melinda, I know you are going to have a great time in your mansion on wheels! I've been looking longingly at very small travel trailers - sweet and simple - but don't know that it would be practical until I can retire.
Glad to hear your parents are doing better MCat. It's a very tough role reversal for sure. Your testing video was definitely impressive!
I just got a new bluetooth scale that will sync with Fitbit. It's not the Aria, but another one I found on Amazon. I'm looking forward to having that daily record right there in the app staring me in the face. Something has to get my attention!!!!
Need to run for now to do some reading homework ahead of an afternoon meeting. Hope everyone has a great day!
