This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

GM CATS and all to follow! I'm up early, so I thought I would start the thread. Do you realize a 60 minute power walk burns around 650 calories. A 60 minute run/walk burns around 750 calories. Not much difference for a lot of effort! I have decided that today I will go back to tracking on my phone via lose it. I want to take advantage of the time I can put into me right now and see if it can yield some results. I took my measurements at the beginning of the month and will remeasure at the beginning of next month. Did anyone else see that Mrs.Kate's, DS turned 5? How can that be? It is raining cats and dogs where I am. What is new in your world?

Good morning, Frieda and all friendly CATs to follow. Hooray for self care!
I'm fighting off the cold/crud that has much of my world in its grip. If I have a fever, I'm heading back to bed. If not, it's going to be rockily uncomfortable and long day.
How can that darling boy be 5 already?
I'm not much for conversation this a.m. I will leave the chat to nimbler minds.

Aloha, Long and Lovelies!!!
We may reach record highs today - 83F. Seems like a dubious honor. Really wishing I could wear more of my pants and long sleeved items. Just sayin. Ah, but the grass is always greener, right?
My new boss starts today. This is boss #4, in the last 7 months. Should be interesting. Apparently her first name is Rhonda, as in, Help Me! If any department needs help, it would be us.....And now we wait and see what happens. We meet her virtually today during a meeting; I'll reach out in a few days to set up a 1:1.
Frieda, I love that you are sounding more positive and generally upbeat. I always think that it helps to measure, and not just weigh, one's progress. It is not always visible on the scale. You go girl!!
T, sorry to hear the Humphries have taken hold. I hope you stay home and get better. It's been a season for it, hasn't it??
Melinda, we are going to DW in December with my Dbro, his family, and my parents. Everyone is really looking forward to it. I think it is part of what is keeping my parents going, actually.
PKate, all I can say is that teens are exhausting. DH and I were cracking up at this picture in the WSJ the other day: it was a picture of a mummy they found, that was a teenager. I said to DH, "and he's STILL surly!!" We chuckled for quite a while at that.....
Susan, I didn't realize that there were bluetooth scales now. That's crazy. Not sure I can do that.
Nancy, hope your morning is going well.
Shari, I too am curious to know plans once you get settled to NC.
Alrighty, gotta get going. Hugs to all!!!!

Good morning! What a great way to start Tuesday, with three of my favorite people already here! First of all, thank you all for the solidarity and validation; I love you all so much for that. It will help to have all my gadgets functioning. Like Susan and Frieda, it keeps it all right there in the face. Yesterday was almost balmy (in the 40's) but I was inside the boutique all day. I made my daily goal, but that's all. If it's that nice today, the new workout wear will get some use, outside. I'll also spend some time in the kitchen, doing prep and planning. Some self-care is also in order. T, I so hope your malady is short-lived. So sorry you feel punky. So happy to hear that Missy's life is returning to normal and the DPs are on the mend. I slept very soundly until 8 a.m. when DD stopped over. That never happens! Will check back in when my head clears.

GM All - I finished prepping to meet with County Commissioners in a bit. No big deal, but want to have my numbers correct. It has been pretty busy around here between emergency exercises, 911 meetings and IT projects. Gotta love being employed by small town local gov't. We wear lots of hats. I have also been the working second job on the weekends - in full swing of standardized testing in California again.
Happy to see Melinda making a regular appearance again. What made DH decide to dump the RV and get the 5th Wheel? Love the pics! Also that you have a walking route in your new building.
Glad that Freida has been posting. Yay for getting back on the trackity track - good for you.
How cold is it in Minni-apple, pKate? Awesome that you are getting in some outside steppage. I am a wimp - just go to the indoor treadmill.
Nancy - It sounds like you are loving the new job. I wish we had some 40's. It was -1 and a fresh couple of inches of snow when I drove into work this morning. At least there was no wind.
Good luck with the new boss lady, MCAT. Your mummy story made me snicker.
Boo that Humphrey has come to visit T. I am still trying to shake sinus issues that started last month. I think it's here to stay until we get some nicer weather.
Martha - any news on that resume that was pushed up the chain?
When will you get the beach house on the market, Susan? Wish I could make it there to visit before you sell. So - maybe a plan for a new one with MM? Things are getting SERIOUS?!?!?!?
Shari - I do not envy the chore of sorting and packing. How long have you been in the current house? I'm sure you are excited and nervous at the same time. So nice that you will be close to Susan, tho.
How is DH holding up in the "non-smoker" world, Linda? When my DH quit once he was SO GRUMPY. It only lasted a few months and he started again.
Andrea - Is the work wewa group going well still? Do you still have the treadmill desk to use? I am contemplating a vera-desk.
Any news on Colleen's postponement?
Better get crackin, here. Stay warm (or cool if you are in TX) and healthy, kitties.

Hey, Karla! That nice warm day we had yesterday turned bitter today. I had a good friend call this morning, so as she and I chatted, I made my route around and through my house, adding up about 4000 steps. Not the fresh air I'd hoped, but it got me moving. And yes, I love the new job...all one day of it!

G'morning~ I'll take Missy's weather! Looked out earlier and had rain/snow mix. Currently 37 out. Frieda - Good job on making sure to get exercise in. ((hugs)) I'll take my re-measurements at the end of the month. T - Hope the crud goes away soon. Missy - Good luck with Boss #4. I'd be looking forward to trip to DW too. Nancy - Glad your job is making you happy and getting in your steps too. Good job walking around the house while talking. Karla - I'm not fond of juggling too many things at once. Shari - Do sort/throw as you are packing. We moved into this house 15ish years ago. Ummm, there are boxes in the basement that I haven't opened.:/
I just checked out the website to see what the status of my application was. Position is still taking applications. I was debating on emailing the lady that I did phone interview with to check but unsure. What do you think? This employer is slow with the hiring process.
This Cinderella has to go do laundry. Have a good day!

Afternoon, all,
Not a lot to report: solid rehearsal last night, DH & I made it to see Gym again this morning even over a thin sheen of ice, I am moving back and forth among WFH and theatre things. Scheming for a 20-minute nap before rehearsal tonight. Trying to remember that I neither can nor will get it all done today, so therefore, I can let some of it go.
T., sorry you are feeling cruddy.
MCAT, GL with Ronda! I am sure she'll be on her best behavior today.
Frieda, I like the idea of using this time for you. You so deserve it.
Martha, sending you patience as you wait to hear about job prospects.
Okay, back to all the things.
