This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

I woke up and stayed awake so here I am. I conked out early while DD and DS stayed up late to bake. Or at least they left s messy kitchen but I don't see the fruit of any finished labors. Our staff lunch was very nice. I have thank-you notes to write. I think the consensus is that today is DH's birthday. There is to be a hike. We are still quite warm here. The cold is expected tomorrow but I need to get an update. I bought a whole beef tenderloin and now have to decide how I'm going to divide/prep it. Way too much for us. Frieda, what is your method? It's prime so has external fat intact. DK is out of prison while DS is asleep. She is ignoring me in protest that I sequestered her in the sunroom to give DS an allergy break.

Oh, brrrr! So happy to be in where it's warm. Fresh snowfall and wind will make for a great day to stay inside. 'Morning, T! *clink* My DH's birthday is Monday! The replacement part was delivered as promised, and DH installed it last evening, before the Grands came. I can't describe how overjoyed I was to have my oven complete again. I rolled out the sugar cookie dough yesterday, cut out snowflakes, and popped them back in the fridge. I'll bake them today. The gingersnaps were baked, one slow sheet at a time, and are wrapped up in the freezer. Not that they needed to be frozen, but more to keep them away from DH. For now, it's just Z and me, coffee, and the Christmas tree.

Good morning CATs, I'm so down with the unwinding! T, I hope you either find something delicious from last night's cooking or that you get some help with kitchen clean up. Nancy, so happy that oven door arrived as promised and you are now back in the cookie business. Andrea, the new baby girl is precious! Martha, I love when you talk about your happy light pKate, safe travels to ye old home place. Frieda, et al will soon be hitting the road. Best thoughts as you transition!!! I suspect it's going to be quiet around here as we head into the serious week of Christmas prep. I hope everyone has a plan for not completely abandoning good eating habits and getting some exercise during the coming days. It just won't be any fun to face January with extra pounds to lose all over again. I'm going to suggest journaling all food as a focused exercise to keep good habits in mind. Sending calming vibes out to one and all.

I appreciate the calming vibes, Anne. In spite of the cold and wind, DH and I are huddled here at home, with cookies baked and more dough mixing, ready to freeze. I've fed the birds and squirrels, even saved one slow mover from Zeus' jaws. Sweet as he is, he is still a hunter. I'll be rolling up some crescent rolls here soon, then snowflake cookies to pipe. Hopefully, then I'm done until my young men arrive home.

Sounds like a very nice day today, Nancy. Anne, I concur! I'm trying to keep my exercise up even though the scale isn't being agreeable to me at all. God give me strength the next couple of weeks. t I texted you bare foots recipe. It's quiet here. Just the usual last minute things to do and box up. Have a good one. Frieda

Hi CaTs. Greetings from PA. Snowyslushy here but beats NY for temp. We're w second DD; she stars in a musical tonight we are more than happily attending. DD also here, we came last night. DS is on Mick-care at home.
WW went to a Christmas craft show of sorts today, very enjoyable. Now relaxing while DD2 preps hair curls, etc. Home tomorrow.
T, HB to your DH, enjoy all the dfam being around you. Beef tenderloin sounds delicious. Nancy, Yay for door being in working order. Carry on! Anne, yes to all thoughts and reminders re wise eating/activity/choices. We'll feel better because of it. Frieda, God speed in your travels east. Wishing you ease and strength.
Time to join in group thinking. Be well, CaTs.

I am on the pc and have not posted from that since the change, and only once before that. Very distracting to learn a new system.
I have 6 cheesecakes in the oven with door ajar, and then will cook another batch. Tomorrow I will make the final twelve. With the cold, I had no kids here and was able to accomplish so much. I had planned to do them Monday Tuesday, and Wednesday. This will make it seem like I have all sorts of spare time.
We have a minus 18 predicted for the low tonight. I was out to check on the cats, and to inventory and shut up my chickens. I had enjoyed going out through the day to check on them and get eggs before they froze. This last trip out I was glad I would not be going out again. Its bitterly cold.
So glad DKW and Dear Raccoon are home.
