I'm still stunned they went with the "she didn't know it wasn't ok" defense for Ivanka lol. Honestly, after a year+ of "lock her up" over the same stuff, if she's that stupid or uninformed, she has NO business with access to sensitive information. I think it's just one more example of how this entire family views themselves as royalty, and genuinely believe that rules and laws only apply to others--those of us they consider beneath them. The fact that they came up with such a lame excuse just further proves the contempt with which they hold the American people. They consider us 1) stupid and 2) not worthy of any explanations for anything. I do not want any physical harm to come to any of them, but I will be shouting Hallelujah and dancing around my living room the day they all leave office.

What's up with the Bill and Hillary tour? Not that I would not love to attend one and hear them, because despite all their mistakes I admire them and I would like to hear them both speak, but is that the best thing for the party at this point? I worry that this sort of thing just fires up the Republicans as they hate them both so much. I am really hoping that a new, fresh leader that we can all believe in will emerge in time for the 2020 election.

Rumors rumbling around, Hilary may consider running again...? Maybe this is the reason for the tour. ...? Does not thrill me in the least. I'm so over them both. Actually, I'm at the point, I'm over ALL of politics both Dem & Rep. I think I may just spend December in the Hallmark Christmas fantasy land of movies.

Yes, Linda, I hear you. I am ready for the Clintons to quietly move on. Hillary would have been a good President, IMO, but her time has passed. Bill was a good President, IMO, despite his many, many flaws. But it is time for both of them to move on out of the active political world, do good works with their foundation, and enjoy their grandchildren. Please Hillary don't run. Quit while you are ahead and pass the torch. Still I would enjoy hearing them both speak.

So, now JA is ok with kids being teargassed!. I guess if one is ok with caging kids, teargassing them is no big deal. I suppose when all this goes sideways, he will use this as an excuse to lay blame on Kirsten Nielson & fire her. I mean have someone else fire her, he doesn't have the spine to do it himself. So disheartening to see this happening at the border.
I suppose JA will give another pass to his buddy Putin after they fired on Ukraine navel vessels.
Any good news out there?
So, who's all done shopping & decorating?...:-)

@lka5, shopping: I think so! Decorating: not at all lol. The man-child I'm married to has his birthday on Dec 15th, so we can't decorate for Christmas until then (because his parents didn't -he's going to be 62, it's time to grow the hell up lol).

Rene...My DH's birthday is Nov 30th, so, we never decorated till after his Birthday for years. But the older & slower I got, over the years, I moved that up to just after Thanksgiving. Now, it's up in the air how many decorations are put out if any. LOL...It's not the decorating so much, it's the dragging of all the bins out from the deep recess of storage spaces. Too much bending, lifting, etc for this old lady....LOL...I always wondered "WHY" my mom got to the point of not being all that interested in decorating for Christmas like she used to & now I know why....

Linda I get that lol. Our stuff is in those big plastic totes in the garage. At one point we had 5 different artificial trees lol. Various sizes. I ended up purging it a couple of years ago and now we have the "skinny" green tree and a white one that I am currently in love with I am not a real sentimental person, but I have 3 ornaments that son made from K, 1st and 2nd grades that I won't part with.

No kids, so I have done zero decorating for years. Only display the Christmas cards. The last time I had a tree the cat tried to climb it and drink the water.
My shopping is practically nil as well: I send Amazon gift cards to my brother and SIL. We get toys for the nephews and nieces; that's always fun. We usually pick a relative for a gift exchange on Thanksgiving, but since there was no mass get together this year, I'm thinking that is off. Haven't gotten any thing for the children yet. I will have to get on that.
Suits me; I'm lazy.

Decorating done! Shopping = not even close, and we don't buy all that much. I have no ideas for anyone's gift this year. I did order some house shoes for my mom from Kohl's. Ordered online, but will pick up at the store. DGD's birthday is coming up on the 10th, and so I better get myself in gear and "get 'er done!" It is terrible what is going on at the border. These children just break my heart, and many of the ones taken from their parents are still not reunited and likely never will be. There was a segment about that on 60 Minutes last night. It seems that in fact, the separation of parents and children actually started before the administration is admitting to and more children were separated than they have admitted to. I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that they took these children and didn't even make a pretense of trying to keep track of them or their parents. That's inexcusable. Now with the teargas?!! How much lower can this country sink? Each time he does these things, he is doing it in the name of us all. It is inhuman and inexcusable. It also makes me angry when I hear Republicans saying that Democrats want "open borders so anyone can just come in at will." They know that's ridiculous! They know it's a lie, and yet they just keep repeating it like a mantra. I don't know anyone who doesn't believe that we must have control over our borders. We must vet those who come in. Nobody is opposed to that. But we are opposed to separating children from their parents, not providing asylum for those in need, etc. We are opposed to treating these people like some sort of dangerous wild animals instead of human beings simply trying to provide a safe life for their children and themselves. Does anyone, even a Republican, actually think these people would actually take such a dangerous journey if they weren't desperate? Why aren't we doing more to help secure safety in their homelands? I shouldn't get started on this topic, because it just really hits home with me.

nashville11, "Kohls online (has exclusions it lists on the site) : November 29- Dec 8th use the promo code SAVE25 and get 25% off." If you shop Kohls online, it's a good deal Their exclusions can be tedious, but overall it's still better than JCPenney where everything is excluded it seems like lol.

Shopping and decorating? Haven't even started. Well, I take that back. I ordered gift baskets from Harry & David for two households, and an umbrella for dh. We don't have a lot of gifts to buy as we've cut way back over the past years.
I don't do any decorating until December. What I do is minimal so I can get the inside done in a couple of hours, or less. We don't put the tree up until the weekend before Christmas.

luanne, I've never ordered from Harry & David, but their catalogs always look wonderful. Have you used them before and been pleased? That's something I might consider. I have a couple of people who have been extremely helpful to me as I've dealt with my dad's passing, and that might be a nice way to say thank you besides just a thank you note.
