luanne , I've never ordered from Harry & David, but their catalogs always look wonderful. Have you used them before and been pleased? That's something I might consider. I have a couple of people who have been extremely helpful to me as I've dealt with my dad's passing, and that might be a nice way to say thank you besides just a thank you note. I have used them quite a few times in the past. The gift recipients always seem pleased. Right now they are having a Cyber Monday sale (I ordered during their Black Friday sale) and many items are up to half off. I generally get the assortments that have some fruit (the pears seem to be a big hit) and some snacky, sweet type of things. |

Nothing really new other than Paul Manafort lied and lost his plea deal. He either is putting a lot of faith in the JA giving him a pardon, had told so many convoluted lies he couldn't keep track of them, or he's more afraid of Russians/Ukranians than he is of prison. Who knows? I hope this saga will come to a conclusion soon. In other "very important" news  what do you think of Melania's hall of red Christmas trees? Do you like them or do they fall into the that's spooky category for you? |

nashville11 , I saw a meme yesterday where the bonnets from a Handmaid's Tale were photo-shopped on top of the red Christmas trees. Do you think she chose red for Red States? An unkind observation from other board: Melania always looks like a bored dominatrix. I try to stay away from repeating cheap shots about appearance, but that one made me laugh out loud.

Lani, I saw the photoshopped Handmaid's Tale pic too. It was very weird, to say the least.
So, JA brags about looking like Elvis. So, then would his theme song be "Jailhouse Rock"...LOL
Well, I'm going to attempt to put up some decorations. Definitely not as much as most years but I still love Christmas Decorations. So we'll see how well the old hip does before screaming at me...DH said he would help, so, he can be my bin finder & carrier....:-)

Hello! This guy has the launch codes and he thinks he look like Elvis Presley! Doesn't that send up a BIG red flag to the people that have the power to remove him? Aren't they even a little bit concerned? If I had the power it would have been a done deal. Where the hell are the people who represent US? Where are they and what the hell do they do all day?

I think the red trees are ugly and creepy. They would give me nightmares.
About Trump's Elvis comment. Well, if he's comparing himself to Elvis' later years, the bloated, overweight Elvis, then yes, maybe I can see a resemblance.

Several times I've seen someone who I suspect regularly reads this thread use this term to refer to those of us who consider ourselves as liberals and/or progressives. I'm sure this must be exactly what he was thinking each time he used the term.  |

It seems to be very likely from comments Guiliani, the JA, etc. have made that Manafort has been funneling information to them from the Mueller investigation. I hope they will be able to prove that, but the "circumstantial" evidence is very compelling. Mueller evidently has been betting very heavily on the JA giving him a pardon, and he'll probably get it. That still leaves him in jeopardy with the state though. Maybe he thinks he has an inside edge there as well.

Who knew all those values I was taught growing up were actually wrong? Per the JA in the Oval, Paul Manafort being a convicted criminal and habitual liar is "brave." Uh? I never knew that. Here I was associating bravery with the military who make tremendous sacrifices for us every day, those who ran into the twin towers when everyone else was running away, those who face unimaginable hardships everyday and yet never give up. Gosh was I ever off base!  |
