This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it

Hello Everyone - Just wanted to start our thread for the month DotRen - I'm glad your son got the staples out and hopefully he'll continue healing. Hope things go well with your new floor installation this weekend. I'm still off track eating wise, but making sure to get in some healthy foods each day. I'm also still doing my daily walking and minimum steps and getting my water, so it's not a total failure Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans.

Just checking in for the day. I need to do that every day so I don't let myself slip into completely being unaccountable I'm getting in my water and exercise, and just about all the "bad" food is gone from the house again. I just hope I can stop myself from bringing more in. Hope everyone else checking in is doing well on their plan.

Hello Everyone Doing my daily check-in. I've already done my walk for the day and don't have many more steps to get my minimum. I've also planned out most of my meal plan and have been drinking water. So at least I've kept up many of my good habits. Hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying the weekend.

Good morning and a new week! We did find a sofa we liked, I'm not sure how long it will hold up, but it was comfortable, easy to stand up from(a big consideration for me since I have a minor disability), and was deep enough to lay on comfortably. It should be delivered tomorrow, then a new recliner I ordered last week should be here Wednesday. You know how you love a piece of furniture and you just can't stand to get rid of it? I'm that way with our current loveseat/sofa (it's a loveseat technically but it's as big as a sofa). It was my mom and dads and we've had it over 20 years. It was an early model microfiber reclining one and it's held up really well all these years but it just won't clean up any more. We've done a lot of remodeling since then, including replacing the front door and the new one is not as wide as the old one was, so I'm not sure if we can even get it out of the house without breaking it down somehow! Son's wound is healing, but he's going to end up with a decent scar from it. Once they took the staples out, the surface hadn't healed completely and it's pulled apart a bit so it's going to be a wide one. It's not in an obvious spot (like, if you're sitting you know how your hip/leg forms an "L" where it bends? It's on the lower but outside part of the bend). Ok I'm rambling. Hope everyone has a great day!

Hello Everyone DotRen - I'm glad to hear your son's wound is healing. Hope everything goes well with the furniture delivery tomorrow and you enjoy the new sofa. I haven't replaced much furniture over the years due to the hassle of getting it out of the house, so I can understand how you feel. I've done my walk today and have been drinking a lot of water. Just need to get in some fruits, vegetables and dairy and I already have a few planned. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans.

Good morning I'm back from my visit. It was good to see my sister and niece. My brother-n-law too, but man can he nag my sister I did get in my steps and one salad. Was not the best, but that's okay it's a new day. cj59, thanks for the November start. It sounds like you are doing pretty good with all you continue to do daily. dotren, glad your son is at least healing. That stinks it started pulling apart. Today is a new day. My sister does WW and she made the FF plain Greek yogurt with a little bit of lemon pudding. So good! I'm going to make it today to dip my fruit in. It will all be 0 points. I need to work on my veggies.

Good morning! cj59 , the yogurt-pudding as a dip sounds great! sunrose49, I've been kind of bad about my veggies and salads, too lol. Well both deliveries called yesterday and said they'd be here today! I am not prepared lol. We moved the current loveseat out of the way for the new sofa, but we'll have to get that out to the garage before we can do the recliners. I ordered the recliners off amazon (lucked out and found the exact same ones we've had for 10 years!)but they come in 2 pieces in a box lol. THat may be a weekend thing. I made yogurt in the Instant Pot yesterday and just posted the recipe here. Super easy but not low-fat since it needs whole milk. I may try a low-fat or fat free milk and see if it works, but most of the videos I watched said it turns out really thin unless you add gelatin or something.

Hello Everyone sunrose - I'm glad you had a good visit and sounds like you were keeping up with several of your good habits. What type of pudding does your sister use for this dip? Is it the box pudding mix or pudding cups with already made pudding? DotRen - Hope the delivery goes well and you will soon be enjoying your new furniture. I'm still eating badly, but I've already done my exercise (walk) for the day, and I have been drinking my water. I have my dairy planned, just need to figure out my fruits and vegetables.

Delivery went awesome. Both were early, and the sofa guys took the old stuff out and assembled the recliner for me DH was happy lol he didn't have to do it. I got a free turkey from Kroger (free with clicklist) and I wanted the smaller one but the only had the 22 pound ones lol -so that's fine. I'll roast it this week some time because I love turkey!

Good morning
Dotren, wow that is a big turkey! Nice you got it for free ;-)
cj59, I am struggling again big time. Hang in there we can do this. She uses the sugar free box pudding. I made some yesterday and dipped my apple in it.
I walked 4 miles yesterday on the towpath. Will do the same today. My legs were really sore when I got home. I need to work on stretching.

4 miles - that's awesome cj59 ,! I'll probably roast the turkey Friday since that's the "cold" day we're getting out of this front (and it's not quite thawed yet lol). Kroger and HEB (Texas chain) both have really inexpensive or free turkeys with certain purchases. It's worth the $4.95 curbside pickup fee to get a $30 turkey and not have to deal with the store craziness around the holidays lol. Speaking of holidays, I'm definitely going to make this! Dixie's pecan pie cobblerLooks amazing.

Hello Everyone DotRen - I'm glad the delivery went well. I'm not a big pecan fan, but that video was great and that looks like an easy recipe. I'm going to check out some of her other videos. That's a great deal on a free turkey. I eat a lot of turkey too. I was looking for the small Butterball boneless turkey breast roast when I was out shopping this week, but I guess it's too early. It will probably be in the stores next week. Last year I bought 2 of them (they are only 3 pounds)and froze one that I used later in December. sunrose - Thanks for the information on the pudding mix. You're doing great with exercise, we'll get our eating straightened out eventually I'm still doing about the same. I may have to accept that this time of the year I just need to keep as many of my good habits as possible and not worry if I'm overeating on some things. The holiday eating really gets to me. I just love to bake at this time of the year. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans

Good morning
dotren, I'll check out the recipe you shared. How is your son doing? A free turkey is really cool ;-)
cj59, yes we will get our eating under control! I need to work on a dinner plan. That seems to be my only problem--evening eating.
Walked 3.5 miles on the towpath yesterday. Been doing pretty good with that. Not sure about today since it is raining and I need to clean house for my brother visiting tomorrow. I hate house cleaning...lol

Hello Everyone sunrose - Good job on the walking. Hope you enjoy the visit with your brother. I "loathe" house cleaning I can't really say much about how I'm doing. I'm just eating too much junk food. I've got to figure out a new eating plan that works for me. I do still get in my exercise each day, so that's something. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
