Hello Everyone - Just stopping by to check-in. I haven't been doing well with any of my eating, so I haven't felt like posting. I'm still getting in my exercise, water and a few other good habits. DotRen - Hope you are feeling better today

*waves* hope everyone is well! I finally got a decent nights sleep, only woke up coughing once. Feeling pretty clear this morning. I need to get back on track eating. I was a carb freak all week. I made a cuban yellow rice with black beans and corn and I felt like I ate 10 pounds of it, but it was the only thing I felt like eating (other than grabbing a spicy jalapeno burger from what-a-burger, and I figure the rice was the healthier choice out of those 2!).

Good morning
DotRen, that's good you were able to sleep better last night. I was a carb freak this past weekend.
cj59, sorry your are struggling. I have been doing that for several years now. Totally understand not wanting to check in daily. Just know we are here for you.
I had a great weekend with family. Lots of laughs and some tears. Eating was so, so. Back at it today.

Good morning! It's going to be just myself, DH and DS this Thanksgiving. My brother and sister-in-law moved back to the Rio Grande Valley about 10 days ago, and DH's family is preparing for a wedding (Nieces son)in a few weeks, so quiet one for us

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today
It's just me for Thanksgiving, so I always try to buy one of the Butterball Boneless Turkey Breasts (3 pounds). I get several meals out of that and only need to make a few side dishes.
The last few years I've been making a pumpkin pie (using the Libby's Pumpkin Pie Filling) but baking it without a crust. I've enjoyed it just as much as the pie with the crust, so I'll be doing that again this year.
I'm still off track, but hoping I can get some control in December, or if nothing else at least in January
Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday

Good morning
Looks like we are all having a low key Thanksgiving.
cj59, I bought the same kind of turkey. I was going to get a regular size, but my son says he no longer likes dark meat. I never did. That's a great idea on the pumpkin.
dotren, are you going to fix all the traditional stuff?
Met step goal yesterday. Will do the same today. No rain in the forecast, but to be very cold.

Hello Everyone sunrose - I hope you and your son enjoy the turkey. I don't care for the dark meat on turkey, so it's always worked out well for me. It's also nice not to deal with the bones. I'm so used to the pie without the crust, I doubt I'd ever make a pumpkin pie again with a crust. Hope everyone does well (or however they want) with their eating tomorrow. I know the holidays can be tough - so many temptations

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving
cj59, I will have to make the pie soon. I ended up doing a bad thing and bought two little individual cheese cakes. 10sp--ugh! I ate mine last night. Over and done with. I hope you enjoy your day.
dotren, I hope you enjoy your day. Are you cooking?
I read something meaningful (to me) on Connect. A lady posted that her husband is trying to get her to take a cheat day today. She told him I would not cheat on you, so why would I cheat on myself. lol I loved it!!
I am thankful for our friendship and support here--thank you

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving! Keeping it pretty simple since it's just us: ham, 4 cheese mac and cheese (Martha Stewart recipe, I've made it for years and it's really good), buttered peas and carrots, baked sweet potato(for me), yeast rolls and pecan pie (Edwards brand, so good I can not make better lol). I am also thankful for this site and all of you for your support and for being a great sounding board when I'm in a bad mood An old Celtic Blessing: May there always be work for your hands to do. May your purse always hold a coin or two. May the sun always shine upon your window pane. May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain. May the hand of a friend always be near to you and May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Hello Everyone - I'm thankful to all the posters on this board too sunrose - That's a great saying that woman posted on Connect - she sure has a good attitude. Don't feel too bad about the cheesecake, I'm going to be eating a whole pumpkin pie by myself DotRen - thanks for sharing the Celtic Blessing, sounds like you have some wonderful dishes to have today. Wishing both of you, and anyone else who checks in, a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Good morning
cj59, enjoy that pie! I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.
dotRen, thanks for sharing the Celtic Blessing..I loved it.
Scale is up a little. Now to get it moving in the right direction. I spent most of yesterday by myself. My son had to be at work at 4:00 a.m. again this morning. At least he gets off at noon.
Does anyone do the crazy shopping today? Not me. I did a Black Friday once many years ago and said never again.

I hope everyone had an UNeventful day Sunrose no Black Friday for me since the furby incident like 20 years ago lol. K-B toys in a local mall had furbys advertised, so naturally since son was very young, we went down there at 3am and waited in line. By the time the store opened at 5am, there were probably 200 people in line(ish) in front of the store, but until then everyone had been civil. One of the store clerks opened the door and yelled "who's here for furbys!" and all hell broke loose. The people who had just walked up shoved people out of the way to get in the front, it was total chaos. Then, they only had 20 of the damned things, so by the time we (who were still being civil) got into the store, we were on a wait list for them. We went to walmart after that for the 10am-11am sale and it was worse, people were shoving, slugging and body slamming. I said never again and we haven't done it since then.

DotRen, OMGosh people are so crazy on Black Friday. That sort of thing happened to my BIL when he went to a store to get his daughter a Cabbage Doll. He got the last one and this lady grabbed it from him and started screaming....lol He just walked away. Crazy!
I got in some veggies and fruit yesterday. Need to work on that a little more. I do good with my water.
