Hello DotRen - Your Furby incident story is funny - Of course I'm sure it wasn't at the time! sunrose - Good for you getting in some fruits and vegetables and water. I have to admit I've let the fruits and vegetables slide the last few days, that's a sure sign that I'm really out of control and need to get my act together I'm hoping something will click with me soon and I can get fully back on track.

cj59, I have let f/v slip for years now. I use to be so good about it. I hope something clicks soon for the both of us ;-)

Good morning cj59 , sunrose49 , ! I am picking up more fruits and veggies this week, too. I know I feel better overall when they make up a decent % of my diet, but I just haven't felt like it in the past few weeks. Yesterday was the first day in 2 weeks that I haven't taken any type of cold medication and I felt pretty good all day, but I woke up at 4am coughing today. I might keep the night time meds for another day or 2 lol. I made the instant pot yogurt Friday with sweetened condensed milk and it is way too sweet for me. Tastes like melted ice cream. I don't have much of a sweet tooth on a daily basis, so I think I'll stick to plain yogurt and just add fruit.

Good morning
DotRen, my cold took a bit to leave. Those suckers really hold on. I have been eating the ff plain Greek yogurt with sugar free pudding (just a little sprinkled in it). I was never a fan until my sister shared that secret with me. I also sprinkle a little kind cereal on it.
cj59, how are you doing?
Waving to all
Finally met my step goal yesterday. Got lots of water in, but am really lacking on f/v front.

sunrose49, good job on the step goal! I have some energy this morning lol. I'm roasting: butternut squash; eggplant; carrots; potatoes; Brussels sprouts and salmon. I stocked up on produce, but if I don't cook it, I'll forget about it and end up tossing it after it goes bad. So I'm cooking it all!

Now the chicken drumsticks are in the oven (might as well since I have it warmed up anyway) and I'm going to add some BBQ sauce to those for son. He told me he wants to eat healthier, so hopefully having all this ready to grab will help him

Hello Everyone DotRen - Sounds like some delicious healthy food you are cooking. That's nice to hear that your son wants to eat healthier I keep reading about everyone making yogurt in the instant pot, but I'm lazy and would just rather buy it at the store. I do need to try the pudding mix in the FF yogurt sometime. sunrose - I'm glad to hear you are getting your steps and water in. I've been managing one fruit and one vegetable serving, and a dairy too, but I should be getting more. We just need to keep trying I'm still eating badly, but I am getting my steps in each day and water and a few healthy foods. I've got to figure out a new or revised eating plan, since I'm totally out of whack right now. I had a thought that if I made of list of breakfast, lunch and dinner choices and limited myself to choosing from that list each day then maybe it would help my out of control eating. Although having a lot of choices helped me the first time, maybe I need to limit my choices right now. Who knows Wishing you all the best on your plans.

I do the "cold method" in the instant pot and it is hands off pretty much. You do need to use 1/2 gallon OR 52oz ultra pasturized or ultra filtered milk (I used Fairlife and the Kroger brand lactose free and both worked well), a 5oz fage total plain yogurt and that's it. (I did a batch with a can of sweetened condensed milk but it's too sweet for my taste). Just whisk it together, pop the lid on (doesn't matter if it's sealed or not, it's not pressurizing), press the "yogurt" button and leave it alone for 8 hours, then refrigerate (don't stir- just cover the pot) for 4-8 hours and it's done

Good morning
cj59, at least you are still getting in water, steps and some f/v--that's still a win to me.
dotren, interesting on the yogurt. WTG cooking up all the healthy stuff you bought.
Only got in a little over 7k on my steps yesterday. It was a so, so weather day. Today should be better. I have a doctor appointment at 11:45 so will do my best to get them in after I get home.

Good morning! Sun glad you're feeling more encouraged:) Sometimes we are certainly our own worst enemies!
I made a Hungarian Goulasch in the instant pot yesterday, basic recipe, but I still can't master pasta in the darned thing lol. I seared and pressure cooked beef, onions, beef broth, tomato sauce, garlic, salt, pepper, lots of paprika for 30 minutes (it was a beef chuck roast I cut up) then put the egg noodles in and cooked for 3 minutes (high pressure)and they overcooked lol. Oh well, DH and DS liked it.
I'm thinking I want to make some broccoli-cheese soup today, so off to pinterest!

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today sunrose - I'm happy to hear you are feeling more encouraged, I hope to join you in that. DotRen - I admire all the cooking you do, you really make some great sounding meals. I had a "moment of reality" hit me today, and hope you don't mind me sharing my thoughts here. I had to go get a new ID card and putting on clothes that are a few sizes larger than my smallest weight and seeing how I look right now, made me face the fact that I have gained back a lot of the weight I lost. I've been overweight most of my life, and have really only lived one year of my adult life at a normal weight and that was when I met my goal weight in Apr 17 until earlier this year. That year felt so surreal to me, I didn't know who I was during that time. I'm at a point now where I have to decide if I want to get back to that normal weight, choose a higher weight for my goal (but lower than I am right now), or keep gaining back the weight and end up where I was a few years ago - in really bad health. Of course I know that gaining the weight back is the wrong choice, but I didn't realize it would be so difficult to keep the weight off. It's a struggle physically, but much more mentally and emotionally. I'm hoping to have the strength to get back on the right track and get to a point where I'm happy at that weight and able to maintain it. Thanks for listening

cj59, there's nothing wrong with setting a higher goal weight. I do think "we" (in general) have a difficult time getting our brains around the fact that we're not as small, taught and un-saggy as we were 20 years ago lol.

Good morning
cj59, I agree with dotren there is nothing wrong with adjusting your goal. I know a couple women that have done that lately. Sometimes as we get older it's just too hard. Thanks for sharing your feelings with us. We are here for you.
dotren, you make yummy dishes. I just never really liked cooking.
Through most of my adult life I stayed at a pretty good weight. I would gain 25 and lose it. But I have never been this big. Sometimes I just don't care. But then when I'm getting ready to go out I have half my closet on my bed trying to find something that I don't look pregnant in. I really do need to get the 65 pounds off. I saw my cardiologist the other day and he is going to run a bunch of tests because I have been short of breath. It's still not sinking in. I really would be upset to get bad news, but would I want to wait to do something about until then--I don't think so.
