Good snowy morning! 6" from yesterday and last night. More to come during the day today. Good times!! Marlene, way to go! Nice avatar! By the way, I did not see you at the store!!! We went to 2 stores, and holy cow!!! The people! They all had the same idea...to get all the shopping done before the storm hit hard. Speaking of trimming the tree, we have had it up and done for maybe a couple weeks, and yesterday I added a few things to it, so I guess it is never done. Did you get baking done...what did you bake? Phyl, yay on the haircut! I have the same issue as you, my hair is straight and kind of thin. So I put either gel or mouuse in it, then blow it dry, while curling it with a brush. It helps. I have considered getting a body perm, but with getting it colored and highlighted, I don't want to spend any more money on my hair than that. How was your trip to Woodman's? Ours was packed yesterday! I don't think I have ever see all checkouts open, and a line at each! Since it looks like the snow storm takes breaks, I think the roads won't be too bad for my DD2 and her hubby to bring the kids out later this afternoon, to stay overnight. I was thinking last night that they would have to cancel. They have a jeep, so that should help. It is nice to have the warmer temps. Of course that won't last...since tomorrow will be so cold. 30'S by Tuesday!!!! Heat wave!!! I am looking forward to taking a walk. Need to do some cleaning, got the dusting done yesterday, now the bathroom is waiting, then we will haul up the rollaway bed for DGD to sleep in tonight. Coffee time...have a great day!

What a beautiful morning! I don't think we got as much snow as predicted, but more is to be one the way. I'll believe it when I see it. A little colder this morning but nice. A winter wonderland walk would be nice today & bring back fond memories of AK. Wonder if DH would be up to it.
I slept really good last night again. Didn't wake till 6:45 - not even for a BR trip.
I have sheets washing now - not on my regular day but a good day to do them:) I also have the chicken carcass cooking so soup is in the making & I will be making zucchini muffins today. Have to do them or the zucchini may need to be tossed. I made chocolate chip cookies yesterday. That's a trial & error process with the new stove. I had to re-adjust the height of the shelves so they would bake somewhere near the time the recipe said. I used 1/2 unsalted butter in them & they spread out more than I like. I know butter will do that so it may not have had anything to do with being unsalted. DH is eating them so that's all that matters - he'll eat anything with sugar in it!
DH is out snow blowing with Waldo now. W. is a BIG help! Yesterday he wanted to go out so when I swept the deck I took him with me. He ran to the garage & sat up close to the door where there was little snow - DH always opens the door for him so he can sit inside the garage. He must have decided it was too cold on the outside cause all of a sudden he came galloping to the back door, sliding in the snow as he made the corner. The door wasn't latched & he tried to open it before I got there. Enough of this, he must have thought!
Got side tracked & took my shower. Another good job done. The washer & drier are in need of my attention & its almost lunch time. Always something to be done.
Lost my first post so I'm going to send this & get off the computer. BTW Karen, my computer is back to it's old habits:(

Marlene, you had me chuckling at the story of Waldo!! Poor guy! When I make chocolate chip cookies, in place of butter I always use the butter Crisco shortening. I don't remember how I got started doing that, but the cookies taste good and they don't spread. Isn't it nice when we sleep all night? I love it! Had a hard time last night getting my DH to settle down, he seemed a tad wound up, and I just wanted to have it quiet so I could read my kindle and get tired enough to go to sleep...men... We went out this morning, during a lull in the snow storm, DH snow blowed and I cleaned up behind him. I also got the path cleared to my bird feeders. Looks like it is quitting again, but that wind sure picked up! Zucchini muffins sound great...I used to make those and put chocolate chips in them. Sorry about your computer...my keyboard seems to be working again, weird.

I am ready for a break but the bed still needs to be made & I haven't "styled" my hair. Not really a styling but I use the curling iron on it as well as I can. Even this short I can get one turn. Last load of clothes dried but I didn't get them out right away so they are on fluff now & the last lonely muffin is in the oven. Got the soup made in time for lunch & DD. She stopped so had a bowl us. I like those unexpected visits:)
I really like the two shades of blue on our new site! Blue is my favorite color & best color for me to wear. I'm sure they considered all that when they chose it!
Snowing a little again but very fine. Will have to snow a very long time for it to amount to anything if it stays this light.
DS has gone to set up for an anniversary party - he has the speakers & equipment for music. He didn't know how late it was to run but I'm sure we'll be in bed when he gets home. I'm ready now:)
Yes Karen, my zucchini muffins have chocolate chips in them too. Also unsweetened baking chocolate & cocoa. Oh yes nuts too. Gotta be a chocolate lover to like these:) The recipe was actually called a bread but I choose to make them into muffins. I missed you out shopping also. Guess there were to many other people! I don't normally use butter either but wanted to use up this unsalted stuff. Oven worked great for the muffins today. I'm learning but have learning disabilities at my age:) Remember my avatar episode?
Let it snow, let snow, let it snow!

yeah marlene did it. she has a avatar up. great job Marlene. we never made it to woodman's yesterday. came home and stayed in. Jeana called last night and we are going to have a gulton free pizza ands salad sunday if carey's folks come. I sure would not want a four hour drive -5 below weather.
Karen I stopped getting perms years ago. they just would not last 3 months. now my hair is so fine it would be a waste of money to try one now. several stylist have agreed with me over the years. sigh,si gh, sigh I could not get my hair to look even a little bit like tammy did yesterday. but then we have to remember stylist are at a different angle when they do our hair. practice practice, practice. now it doesn't pay for me to try the curling iron. I can get it around the iron, let go and it just flys away. maybe I should just have the damn hair shaved and run around in a stocking cap the rest of my life! lol. don would think I went nuts. nah hope I never have to do that.
marlene I will have some of your chocolate chip cookies ,and chocolate chip muffins leave out the zucchini please. just don't like zucchini. don't know why.
we had a good time with Margie and tom today. breakfast was sausages, bacon. pancakes, egg bake. tom is working in Duluth so he got the meat up there. don got one present. some type of tower light for the garage and I know that is expensive. I got a pair of fleece pj's. card for christopher banks and barnes and noble. margie could not find any flanne pj's. I told her that is like looking for a needle In a hay stack. fleece is ok for lounging but going to bed I would get to hot under the covers.
we did get snow today. sometimes a little and then a little heavier for awhile. think we got about 6 inches last night.this was the second storm in 6 days. we have exceeded our amount for December
I feel for the packers and bears playing tomorrow. why couldn't they have had the game in one of the nfl domes or a warmer state? time to lay around in my pj's now. so I am heading to put them on.phyl
