This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Good morning ladies! I hope you are all starting this fine day with gusto! DH's birthday today...I made him cookies Tuesday night (he didn't want a cake) and last night I devoured six before I could stop myself. He wanted cookies to take with him to his class tonight.
A beautiful day here in CO...we may break records tomorrow with highs in the low 70's. Sadly, this weather means gusty winds and potential wildfires. There was one just up the road from us that was contained fairly quickly despite those bad winds. Evacuations were in place for a few hours but I believe all is mopped up this morning.
I definitely want to see The Handmaid's Tale...and the next Pirates movies. And I need to look for Stranger Things (these were the commercials I remember from the big game). And yes, I'd never make it without my Amazon Prime. I think I get a delivery almost every other day! Love the subscribe and save option so I hardly need to think about it.
I'm blanking on other CAT news at the moment...already starting to think all that needs to be done here at work today. I think I have about 2.5 hours on my calendar where I don't have a meeting scheduled. Definitely looking forward to working from home tomorrow!!
Have a great day everyone!!

Just a quick check in. I don't have anything to say. Except me and Ms. Aria Scale are officially not on speaking terms. I'm angry she is posting a much higher number than I thought. I mean I get on that d@mm treadmill almost DAILY, sweat my @ss off and no change! Plus I spoke with my advisor and NO CHANGE there either. WTF??
I am putting myself in a bad mood. I better go clean some more.

Aloha, Long and Lovelies.
We had Amazon Prime (free trial) during the holidays which, quite frankly, saved my butt. DH is not completely sold on having it year round; I suspect that is coming. I can usually drop hints here and there for him to think about.
Anne, usually you can assume that you have passed unless they tell you something during testing. Fortunately, no one talked to me to fix anything (or if they did, I fixed it), so I should be good! I still get nervous, which is always interesting to me.....
Andrea, Stranger Things was Netflix. DH and I loved it. They did a great job on recreating early 80s. Definitely suspenseful/creepy. They also did a hilarious skit/parody on SNL; you should check it out after you watch the series.
Where is T? Is she surviving?
Frieda, gosh, I am so very sorry that you are so frustrated. Progress takes time, on all accounts. Not that that makes you feel better now. But I would encourage you to do something for yourself to cheer yourself up. Nails? Hair? Shopping? Do something for you.
Linda, are you surviving winter so far? Is DH still staying "on task"?
Martha, did you follow up?
Alrighty, gotta prep for a 9AM meeting. Hugs to all!

Good morning! Andrea, glad to hear the danger of fire was extinguished. Frieda, it could be that Aria is recognizing the addition of muscle, especially if you're working hard. A higher number is not necessarily a bad thing. How are your clothes fitting? Go by that for a while. Had to giggle about the "clean some more"...am I a bad influence?? I like Missy's idea of doing something nice for yourself. I vote for a mani/pedi! The sun is bright on my favorite day; it doesn't get much better than that. Garlic chicken pizza planned for supper, with my homemade crust. Also, back to my house wandering with the Kindle. Whatever it takes to get my steps in, right? Wondering if Humphrey took our sweet T down, where Linda has been, if Colleen has been lost in the clutter of her move, how Susan's real estate deal is forming, if we get to see Anne again soon, as well as Karla, Shari, PKate, Mrs. Kate, and our dear Mea.

Good morning Andrea and Freida. We are on a weather roller coaster this week. 70s yesterday, 40s today and 70s again by late weekend. That's NC for you! At least we aren't having the big snow storm here.
Freida, I'm sorry for the glacial pace you are feeling on multiple fronts right now. I'm hoping for some serious melting for you in both situations. You are surely getting the exercise in, but how about your eating? I know I struggle to cut down portions in light of my slowing metabolism!
Andrea, I'm beginning to get a bit frantic about my audit coming up in about a month. I'm so behind on so many things. In an organization this size where I wear so many hats there is always something else that has to come first!
Annne, I am so glad to hear that trouble has left the building permanently. Isn't is amazing how one rotten egg can have such a widespread impact. We just ushered one such out in early January and it has been such a relief!
T, how are you feeling? Did you succumb to the yuck?
Shari, are you going to be clobbered by this latest round of snow or is that more of a coastal thing? I almost envy the fact that you are being forced to clean out/eliminate "stuff." I'd love to do it, but think it takes a read need to spur that action. How good it will feel to start out fresh and light!
Must buckle down for now. Waves to Melinda, MCat, Martha, Karla, pKate, Nancy and dear Mea. Have a great day!

Frieda- stress is the devil! I was lucky back in the day when stress meant the pounds just fell off. Not so much anymore. Seems like my digestion just shuts down. Keep focused and do your best.
Andrea- I would like to send cookies with DH as he heads to FL but there isn't time. We like to keep them in the freezer in a tin. They are so good!
Nancy- yay for getting stuff done. I was always amazed at what I could get done on a short 30 minute lunch. Now I'm out on the edge of town & I can't do any errands.
I'm excited that I'm sleeping so good. For two weeks now it's been so wonderful. It's been years since I was able to fall asleep & sleep for 8 hours straight. I'm shocked. I'm wondering if it was my back that was waking me up. Since I started the new stretches for that joint I don't have as much pain. Also getting my diet squared away helps too. Last night I made goulash. I separated 1/2 out for DH & added the brown sugar & molasses like I normally do. For mine I didn't add anything because it's on the list of sugars that I can't digest. I had no issues with my digestion. So that means that's one more thing I can have. It's tough because portion wise I can only do 1 cup of it. That is hard when it tastes so good!
At my work there's a gal that recently lost 35 pounds. We asked her if she wanted to join the 3 of us for our daily walk thru the building. It involved 15 minutes and includes stairs to the second level. She gets over 10K steps everyday but after the walk with us she didn't come again in the afternoon & she said she was very sore. I think the steps really make for a good work out. I do feel more toned. So add them in where you can ladies!
Ok- back to work. Take care!
Melinda

Good morning CATs, I'm going to thoroughly enjoy this midweek day off by starting with a chat with all of you. Well, actually I started with my mall walk but that is daily routine.
Andrea, I hope you can enjoy that lovely weather without threat from the downside. How is your mom doing? Oh Frieda, these are such tough days for you. I'm sorry you didn't get better news from the advisor or the scale. Hang in there. MCat, hope things are going well with #4. Nancy, there was a big pizza discussion in our office yesterday with one guy saying "who would put chicken on pizza?" I promptly raised my hand high. He probably wouldn't appreciate that I also put artichokes, spinach, jalapenos and other un-pizza-like stuff on the rare occasions I have a GF pizza. Susan, good to see you checking in when you can. I suspect you are starting to enter the busy season too? Melinda, it's always good to see you posting about the wins as you've tried to untangle all your body's issues. Good sleep is a necessity in my book.
Not much on tap today. Might go get a pedi as the toes are looking a little ragged and we are definitely having open-toe weather.
Happy Nancy-day to one and all!

Wish we had open-toe weather, Anne! But I will not complain as we are supposed to approach above freezing temps tomorrow and maybe even higher for the weekend. I like chicken on pizza, too. (I vote for the pedi.)
Freida - I can't imagine the stress you are under, but surely that has to affect you physically. Keep up the good habits and it will catch up to you - hopefully sooner than later.
Glad you are sleeping better, Melinda. I am putting off a chiro trip until we get the new mattress. Hopefully the 35 pound loser can keep up with you next week!
Andrea - It's WAY TOO EARLY to use the "F" word. April is generally our worst month for wild fires - however this year it will likely be October as we have a lot of snow to melt off.
Today is kind of erie around the courthouse. It is preminary hearing for two of the accused in last fall murder. I thought maybe family members of the victim would be here, but I don't think they are. And the press didn't file until past the deadline to be able to take cameras into the courtroom, so only the local paper is here. I will not leave my office until it is over. Her face is just plain evil to look at.
Pipeline.... hummmmm. Well, the mess from the camp south of Mandan (Dakota Access) is costing the state tax payers about half a million to clean up. It's unreal the amount of garbage (hundreds and hundreds of dump truck loads) they left behind; not to mention the raw sewage. All of this in the flood plain and with all the snow this year it will surely flood - they are worried about potential contamination of the river water. How ironic is that. I think most of the protestors are gone. There are about 350-400 still lingering in hotels. They were masters of propaganda on social media, that's for sure. Truely 99% of what you may have seen on fb was not true. I worked a few days in the EOC and two of my deputies served quite a bit of time there and I have friends who live in the area. ANYWAY, I hope when they get the Keystone ramped up that we don't see them move into our community. It would bankrupt our county.

Oohhh, Anne! I hadn't thought of adding artichokes to the pizza, and I happen to have some! I've also leaned down the garlic sauce that tops it, so I'm thinking this, with all the good veggies and herbs, will be a healthy and hearty meal. I know I can get satisfied with one slice; that's how good this is~! I'm going to roll the dough out thin enough to go on a jelly roll pan, instead of the grill pan. We'll have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Karla, that pipeline mess is just awful. All together now: So Happy It's Thursday!

Nothing going on. Tomorrow is Friday AGAIN and no action in this neck of the woods. I could scream (or cry) in frustration.
I am going to TM at 7 tonight. I am pulling out my old plan my trainer gave me that was successful. Anyone working the WW program? How is it? Should I rejoin? Any thoughts?

Late posting for me.. Yesterday and today, went to employment center for workshops. I've taken both before but it's fine that I did again. It's been over a year. Met up with a friend afterwards. Enjoyed lunch & conversation with both. Haven't seen either in months. Getting out of the house helps a lot! Happy lamp and exercise have been done for the day. Today, got a lot of walking in. Will write down the book titles for some future reading. Frieda - (((hugs))) I'll try to get on elliptical at 7 (my time), while you are on the TM. Workout buddies. Missy - I still haven't heard back. Think I'll email in the morning, as my brain is too tired to think. Melinda - Glad you found another recipe that you can eat. Nancy - Your pizza sounds good. Anne - I'll take just about anything on pizza. The definite no's being: shrimp, fishy stuff, pepperoni. This talk about pizza is making me hungry. I think I'll add it to the menu for next week. Hmm, BBQ Chicken with salad sounds good. Dinner tonight is leftover Chicken Posole and sandwiches. Thinking of all~ martha

Good Evening CaT Friends. I am washed up in the chair, bed soon. Out-of-the-house work is complete for the week; now begins the in-house work more intensely. Getting myself to bed soon so I am not a layabed tomorrow.
Tomorrow DM and I have to day to ourselves here to do some hauling out. Plan to do some serious donating, clotheswise. Saturday, my DGF is coming for the day and we have dinner plans to go out. She is coming again on Sunday - all in the helping hand of sorting and clearing. And boxing what we can.
The relo, as you call it MCat, is scheduled for early June. I didn't think of school schedule exactly, but it sort of fits. I need to stay through recital time in end of May. Not to mention it will take that long to haul out of here! And now that DH knows how/where he is going, that timing will work for him. We plan a look-see trip down in March. T, I hope you are feeling better if the germs caught you. You asked about my shingle being hung out - not right away and not in any big way. Small scale (harhar) piano if it happens but no plans to do it in the volume I've had here. Weight Watchers I would like to get into but have to see about that too.
Susan, so excited that C. is so close for you! Yarn store is an added bonus. See you this summer! I totally hear you on cleaning out - and you are right about needing the big push. It is hard - and I would throw up my hands and procrastinate if not for a pressing deadline. I've procrastinated some of this junk for many years. We moved into this house 30 years ago - only place we've lived.
Ok, time's up. Nightynight to all - maybe tomorrow will give me a moment. DM is putting lasagna in the crockpot.
