Not much is changing in the news during the holidays, but 2019 promises to be quite a year. Whether that's going to be a good thing or not remains to be seen, but I am hoping for good things. I'm holding out hope that the truth, or at least much of the truth, about the JA, his family, his friends, and his business will finally be publicly known. If that happens, I can't imagine that even most Republicans won't turn against him. There will always be those die hard supporters who refuse to admit the truth, but surely they can't be the majority. Once he starts losing support among Republican people, Republicans in Washington will likely start turning as well. Which only shows that as we've all known all along most of those Republicans in the House and in the Senate know that the JA is a disaster but they've just been too cowardly and self-centered to do anything about it.
I have hope again with the House back in Democrat hands, so please Democrats don't squander this opportunity to make a real difference. Go after the truth, but be careful that you behave as patriots uncovering the truth and not as vengeful because that will just help coalesce his base rather than making them face the truth, IMO. Dig deep but with the finesse of a skilled surgeon.
We've (or at least I've) always grown up believing that in the end good always triumphs over evil. It may be corny and old fashioned, but that's still what I choose to believe. So I am hopeful that 2019 will be the year when we will begin to see this travesty begin turning around.

Good grief, it's a neverending freak show of stupidity with him.

Thinking about it, this would be the PRIME opportunity for national security to step in and say that his tweets need to be reviewed and approved.

Thinking about it, this would be the PRIME opportunity for national security to step in and say that his tweets need to be reviewed and approved. It would be, but I'm not holding my breath for that to happen. They'll just gloss over it as always. Had a Democrat, any Democrat at any level, done that Republicans would have been calling for their head, but for this JA anything goes.
Wonder why all those MAGA hats he was signing for the troops looked brand new even though the troops themselves supposedly brought them for him to sign? Interesting that they would all have brand new hats like that especially in a war zone.

So, we, the taxpayer are paying $54,000 for tent rental for JA Mar a Lago New Years Eve Party, plus other expenses. Hmmm, I didn't get an invite, did you...LOL...nor would I want to go anywhere near that place. My goodness, can't someone, somewhere look out for our tax $$ this Fake Prez is wasting. $54,000 would go a long way in paying for federal workers bills because of JA shut down.

Boohoo, so sad! Poor JA had to stay in Washington over Christmas and now he's going to stay there over New Year's per his incoming chief of staff. We're supposed to feel sorry about that? Give me a break! Mulvaney actually says this with a straight face as if the JA is making some sort of big sacrifice for the country. I bet a lot of those Federal workers not receiving a paycheck right now and who just had their raise for 2019 flushed down the toilet by this JA wouldn't mind spending either holiday in the luxury of the WH. Not many of them will have butlers and maids to attend their every need, fancy chefs to prepare whatever they choose to eat, etc. The way Mulvaney tells it you'd think he was spending it sleeping under a bridge somewhere. Of course under a bridge is getting pretty dangerous as absolutely nothing is being done to repair our infrastructure so who knows when the bridge could come tumbling down. There just are not any words in the English language to describe how despicable I think this "thing" in the Oval is, and all those who enable him. There's an interesting interview with Claire McCaskill on CNN's homepage. She has what I think are some wise words of advice for Democrats going forward, and also she talks about the fact that privately Republicans admit that they think the JA is a complete nut, but that they're afraid to go against him on anything. She also talks about the fact that McConnell is totally political and spends no time trying to get anything accomplished for the country, but spends all his time trying to get "wins" for Republicans. None of that is new. I think it's what we all think, but it was interesting to me to read what she had to say about it. Here's the link if you're interested: www.cnn.com/2018/12/24/politics/mccaskill-exit-interview/index.html

Oh puleeze, he's not being "concerned" or "altruistic" - isn't airforce 1 grounded for anything other than official business? If so: he CAN'T leave, unless he wants to go by ground means (the president can't travel on private or commercial airlines, can he?)

I guess he could use his Trump plane maybe? ? Or maybe the SS won't let him do that? I think I've seen where he's said it's much nicer than Air Force One. But then, according to him Trump Tower and Mar-a-Lago are much nicer than the private residence quarters at the WH. So I think we'd all be in agreement that it would be just fine with us for him to go back there and never show his face outside their doors again. In fact, if he'll volunteer to resign from the presidency, I'll volunteer to pack him up and move him out. I bet I could find a lot of people who'd be willing to help me.
Two things strike me about the "Most Admired Man of 2018", one is how funny it is that he's once again playing second fiddle to Obama. Don't you know that just really eats at him? LOL! The other thing is how on earth did he make the list in the first place? How anyone can find him admirable is totally beyond my comprehension, and I am really happy to know that while I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer I am smarter than that!

IMHO..........Expect nothing of Trump but what he has shown himself to be, it's a waste of your time and energy. Seriously!!!!!!!! Anyway great article in the "New Yorker." "“The Apprentice” portrayed Trump not as a skeezy hustler who huddles with local mobsters but as a plutocrat with impeccable business instincts and unparalleled wealth—a titan who always seemed to be climbing out of helicopters or into limousines. “Most of us knew he was a fake,” Braun told me. “He had just gone through I don’t know how many bankruptcies. But we made him out to be the most important person in the world. It was like making the court jester the king.” Bill Pruitt, another producer, recalled, “We walked through the offices and saw chipped furniture. We saw a crumbling empire at every turn. Our job was to make it seem otherwise.” Trump maximized his profits from the start. When producers were searching for office space in which to stage the show, he vetoed every suggestion, then mentioned that he had an empty floor available in Trump Tower, which he could lease at a reasonable price. (After becoming President, he offered a similar arrangement to the Secret Service.) When the production staff tried to furnish the space, they found that local venders, stiffed by Trump in the past, refused to do business with them." And the rest of the story: www.newyorker.com/magazine/2019/01/07/how-mark-burnett-resurrected-donald-trump-as-an-icon-of-american-success

Ok. I am going to need a definition of the word admired. If the crack pot stinking up the WH is the 2nd most admired man and his wife is the 4th most admired woman I have a few questions?.
Who did the study? Define admired? Admired by whom? Why? In other words why is he admired?. Why is she? Is this a joke?

Pattybird-
He is "admired" by people who are afraid of him, need to use him for their own gain or fell out of the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down.
Read the article in the New Yorker......he was an illusion made up for a TV show and now the people who follow him just see what they want to see.
What I have noticed is that a lot of old white guys won't own up to admit what a disaster he is, it's like they have a bag over their heads.
