Hey, why am I up first on this Saturday morning? I'm putting out a pot of coffee and hot tea for everyone!
Warm here this morning and should be a great Saturday. I'm cooking pot roast with veggies tonight and DD and her family will be coming for dinner. We'll celebrate DSIL's birthday with an official New Orleans King Cake (one of his favs)
Hope everyone is getting to sleep in a little this morning!

Good morning.
well, we had a dusting of snow overnight and expecting 7 + inches tomorrow. The supermarkets will be mobbed today. People seem to think they're going to starve if they're stuck inside for the day. Kind of amusing. The funny thing is when you, look in their carts they're usually filled with chips, frozen pizza, ice cream, etc. never heard anybody say, we've got a storm coming, gotta run out & get some produce 😜. I'm in for the day. Exhausted after having the family here last night. We had some good laughs & my dinner wasn't bad (for someone who, doesn't cook).
Take care everyone. BBL.

Hahaha, @sullicat! I actually DO have to get to the store for some produce!...and frozen cherries, which if I had to do without, the world might come to an end. dina I hope today is extra special; you are right this is no weather to be traveling in, maybe it will blow right on through RI. We're trying to figure out whether we need to take care of a few errands (cherries!) today, Saturday is a work day for J, so hate to take too much of it. The *snow days* have given such a gift of getting life together...time to catch up on the DVR, but not having to run around has been so pleasant. I might even start looking at some tax files today. Bah. I got an email from my MGH nurse yesterday; so sweet! As were all of you, thanks. I think it will be one of those scares I seem to need to get busy on some changes. Have a good one!

Good morning. It is quite light out, the sun is not up yet, and I can see a big almost orange colored full moon just above the horizon in the west. There is a very light cloud cover but the moon is showing through it. And as I finish typing this, it is almost half way below the horizon.
It is going to be in the 30's all this coming week. It was over 40 yesterday, and the snow drifts have shrunk considerably. I got the snowdrift in front of the shop shoveled out yesterday in two sessions of 20 and 30 minutes. Now I can get my pickup back in again. I'll have to admit that I'm a bit stiff today, but not as bad as I thought I might be. Tomorrow may be worse, muscle stiffness is that way sometimes.
This afternoon will be a trip to town for some groceries and Mass, then home for dinner and a glass of wine.

Good morning all, linda72 was 8 minutes ahead of sullicat1 this morning she must have just posted right after Sulli checked Thank you both for getting us going! Is it King Cake time again Linda?!? I have to dodge those in the store for a month! Like a cinnamon roll in cake form for those of you that have never had one (I had never seen one in CA). Since cinnamon rolls are on my list of "can't stop at just one" I get my FPs in making made dashes by the front of stores where you walk in and can't avoid them. And speaking of that why oh why is the bakery section always by the produce?! Glad you had a nice time last night Sulli, sounds like fun having laughs is always a good thing dina so glad the Confirmation is still on for today, I didn't want to ask yesterday how soon you guys had to fly out under the circumstances. Continued prayers for your family during this hard time. lmenglish another fun day as usual for you, your posts always get me smiling. I must check out that recipe, it sounds like something Eric would love ❤️ ksbruns so so glad you are doing better, was cracking up at you having all those layers on! Sorry not funny but it reminded me of those Campbell Soup commercials with the kids with their arms sticking out straight at their sides as the mom dresses them to go outside Have a blessed day everyone!

Good Morning DebDoesWW you weren't alone in missing the stellar triple-header - it was too overcast here to see a thing ;( I'll be looking for images some other lucky devil was able to capture lol. dina I was thinking the same thing as Deb, wondering if the confirmation was still on. With continued thoughtful prayers, so glad for all of you that its a go. A typical Saturday on tap for me with errands, chores, and perhaps a rented movie tonight. Hoping for rest and improved health for those that need it and the enjoyment of Saturday plans for everyone!

Good Morning All. Slept later myself and have been puttering around. Continued healing and feeling a lot better today. Still cautious because the slowly decreasing med will be around for the rest of the week. Warming into the 60's so will venture for another short walk.
I have lived here in VA for many years (since 78) but have never gotten use to how the stores clean out when it snows. We haven't had a big snow this year yet but when it happens there is no bread, milk and even produce to be found. Snow shovels fly out of the stores. Do people not own a shovel? It only has to be an inch or two because the roads are not cleared as well as up north where I grew up.
My plants are so confused with our changing weather. I have things budding a little and sprouting on the early spring plants. What a strange winter. I still think we are in for a big one at some point.
Tomorrow is predicted to be 70 or so. Originally they said higher but 70...February...hmm...
Enjoy your Saturday folks.

linda72's post got me curious as to how soon Fat Tuesday is coming up, can't believe it is almost Easter time again. Here are the dates in case anyone is curious. Fat Tuesday February 28 Ash Wednesday March 1 Easter April 16 * Just want to add this thread is obviously completely nondenominational and I hope that doesn't offend anyone, just was curious how long the Kings Cakes would be in my face at the stores and thought I would post all the dates while I was at it.

Morning thyme2, yay for continued healing!! I know exactly what you mean, when the H word (hurricane) is even whispered here the shelves empty, the bread and water shelves are literally bare.
