The Mind☯Body☯Spirit connection emphasis is creating balance, wholeness, and coherence in our lives. It acknowledges that how we think, what we feel, and what we believe create the life we live and the world around us.
Let's get started! We'll post:

Good Morning, Dear Ones:
A few more inches of snow overnight and its looking like a Winter Wonderland.
Michelle: I laughed at your comment yesterday: Today I have been saying to myself "I am not going to listen to you". This is a very powerful sentence for me to get me back on track. Maybe I need to be firmer with the "voice in my head"; otherwise know as "monkey mind". Maybe I ought to name the voice in my head and address her firmly, by name. LOL.
“But it was in this moment, lying in bed late at night, that I first realized that the voice in my head—the running commentary that had dominated my field of consciousness since I could remember—was kind of an asshole.” ― Dan Harris, 10% Happier
Right on.
Daily Affirmation: Find peace in the present moment. Fitness report: Gym day Health Goal: Eat to power my body Gratitude: For this moment. And this one. And this one.
P.S. If you haven't read 10% Happier by Dan Harris, its a humorous, wonderfully-light read on his adventures into the world of mindfulness and meditation. I'm thinking of going back for a re-read.

Affirmation: FOCUS!
WW goal: Water
Activity: Dog walk, yoga, functional fitness
Attitude habit builder: Relaxed and happy
Mantra: I am a strong powerful woman
Suzanne, I like the saying "Without discipline there is no life". For me it is a different way to think about construction of my reality. Once I made a watercolor called "Watching the watcher" which was about the pitfalls of attempting to practice mindfulness. I am an American so I love my monkey mind and I am a dyed in the wool materialist (gasp). At least I am not trying to throw the whole thing away while all the time practicing it! This is a sly victory over my delightful monkey mind that enables me some degree of freedom. It's odd that people who are constantly talking to themselves find it odd to actually talk to themselves. KWIM? BTW, I need to PRACTICE what I have read rather than grasp at more, more, more!!! Chop wood, carry water.......
Speaking of chopping wood and carrying water--busy day for me doing just that in the American style.

Good morning, lovelies! Giving a "thank you" shout out to Suzanne for starting the weekend edition! Suzanne, enjoy taking in the sight of that Winter Wonderland...hopefully indoors sipping on a cup of hot tea. I've named the voice in my head Chatterbox because she certainly has a lot of observations and opinions. My best response to her is, "Thank you for sharing that, now please *something I can't type here*"!! LOL Hi, Michelle! Love the chop wood, carry water attitude and what you shared about balancing mindfulness. Enjoy your busy day! Daily Affirmation - I live this day fully, well, and joyfully in the moment. Fitness Report/Goal - AM walk of 48 minutes. Dog walk and yard work still to come. Health Goal - Salad for lunch, empty my water jug. Keeping it simple! Gratitude - A night of restful sleep and waking up feeling totally refreshed and energetic for an active day. Have a great day, Angels!

Greetings Angels! We are at the end of our first snow. We got about 3-4 inches but it turned to slush so DH can't use the snowblower. He's out there shoveling. I offered to try to help and he said unequivocally, no, to stay indoors and recover. So I finished wrapping what has not arrived in the mail yet and went through a stack of catalogs and other paper mail. In them was a flyer from the local community college where I got my associates degree. I found some intriguing courses and am planning to undertake an online course in administrative functions in January. Feeling the itch to do something to improve myself. I missed my WW meeting due to the snow, so probably will not get enough stickers in my book to get the winter charm. Oh well! Funny how those little charms come to be important to us meetings members. Michelle, good to see you posting. I almost used your affirmation yesterday, the powerful woman one. Anetta your wren makes me smile. I have a bird out there running over the surface of the snow and am having trouble identifying him. Larger than a finch, smaller than a robin, light breast and brownish wings/upper. Congratulations on getting your BP down! Lets work on those pounds once the holiday rush is over, shall we? Michelle, your IBS and anxiety sound so intertwined. I'm sorry you are going through it and hope you feel better soon. I love your Charlie Brown avatar. Hello to Lisa and Carol!
