Ann Coulter is now saying she was stupid for supporting Trump. I'll agree.
I saw a documentary on JFK Jr awhile ago. I didn't know that Ann Coulter worked for him on George magazine. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that.

M O N E Y! Money changes everything. So says Cyndi Lauper. Lol. That's why she did it.
I can't stand anything about that woman. Can't look at her. Can't listen to her. I can't even stand seeing her name in print or hearing it in a conversation
I see nothing but ugly. It works for her though. She's laughing all the way to the bank.

The really ugly, sad truth is: even if he manages to get his "wall" funding, it will take 10 years or more to build, and even longer to fix what the builders screw up. All of this is just stupid. It's not "looking forward", it's a power play "give me what I want" and nothing more. And it's not like there aren't already drug tunnels. Maybe instead of a "wall", they need to be looking into fortifying the electronic surveillance that needs serious updating.

The fact that what was allocated for border security hasn't even been spent yet should be telling. Trump has no plan for what he wants to do. The amount of money he's asking for won't even make a small start.

I really hope the two reporters lani, mentioned are right, and we won't go through another wasteful, disastrous shutdown. I like luanne,'s point that if there is a national emergency it's not 3 weeks down the road so clearly there is no national emergency. Although I would not doubt his trying that scenario. Although the court might block that, but he would figure that he'd still look good to his base and could blame one of his favorite targets the judicial and legal system. Wow! I would never have pictured Ann Coulter and JFK Jr involved in any sort of project together. She, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson, and all the rest of those right wing "give me a big check and I'll say anything" rabble rousers just make my skin crawl. Linda, I was watching the weather talk about the big arctic freeze that is coming our way here, and saw where you are going to be -50*!!! Not sure if that was the actual temp or the "feels like" temp, but either way it is unimaginably cold. The 7* degrees they were saying I might get sounded really warm after I saw yours. Come on down! We'll have peppermint schnapps in front of the fireplace while we bitch about the JA.

The only wall I want to see associated with a Trump is a prison wall!
Yup, suppose to hit -50 below with wind chills. Doesn't matte if its wind chill or actual temp, its still -50 below & darn cold!
Fireplace, Schnapps & bitching sounds good to me...LOL
I personally think JA is "toast" as far as another government shutdown or National Emergency!....He caved & his leverage is gone. I just can't imagine the Federal Employees who were affected this time or next time will stand for it again. I see walkouts & strikes & lots more places shut down besides the government. One would think this would be a wakeup call for the GOP, but...........they are so blind, helpless & spineless when it come to JA. I think, JA is mentally in a very dangerous place for this country. He is all about revenge & I would bet just waiting & looking for a way to get back no matter how dangerous it is for any of us. I hope someone, somewhere is watching him very carefully!!!....

I agree that his desire for revenge can be very dangerous for us all.

We really do have a national emergency. It sits in the Oval Office.
Anybody remember a comedy album from 1962 called, The First Family? I think I might even still have it.
Little Caroline sings, "My daddy's the president, what does your daddy do? We live in a big white house on Pennsylvania Avenue. We dont play house we play the game of government, cause my daddy is the president."
It was a fun, lighthearted, comedy. Not disrespectful at all.
The jerk in the WH today is playing. He knows, as well as we do, he doesn't belong there.
Presidents declare national emergencies when there really is one. A jerk pretending to be a president is silly enough to say they will declare a national emergency just because they can, simply to get their own way. This is not a game. Not funny. He is making a mockery out of the Office and The People. He's playing. Having fun. He thinks he's funny. I'm not laughing.
When will we say enough is too much?
One more time with feeling. This jerk is a clear and present danger to the whole world.
He IS the national emergency. He is the clear and present danger.

Pat, I agree with you that this JA is a very clear danger to us all, and he's got to go. That's why it really concerns me when I hear news about possible progressive independents making a presidential run. Evidently Howard Schultz, the president of Starbucks, is seriously considering making a run for the office as an independent. I don't know much about him, and he might be fantastic as president for all I know, but as an independent he is not going to win and will only drain votes from the Democratic candidate and make it much more likely that the JA gets a second term. An independent to siphon off Democrat votes is the kind of thing the JA dreams about. If he wants to run that's fine, but do it as a Democrat as Bernie did and not as an independent.
I also heard someone this morning discussing that HC has not closed the door to making a third run. I like Hillary. I think she would have made an awesome president, but I'm afraid trying to get revenge on the JA would be at the expense of the country. No matter how much I like her, she is a lightning rod, and I think her time has most likely passed. Now's the time for her to pick another choice and work to help that person win. Be an elder stateswoman.
Under the heading of people I wish the news would stop interviewing because they grate on my nerves is Jerome Corsi. He's a big blowhard just trying to get attention for himself and comes across to me as being creepy, crawly, slime.

The media is goading "he capitulated", "he lost", "he gave in", etc. Bad move - his response to these kinds of headlines is to dig in and make things worse. FWIW he may have done all these things, but at least the people who were not getting paid will be now. While he certainly has his ulterior motives, and it's doubtful it had anything to do with easing the hardship on the working people, at least he did it. (finally). And the "insider" stories that the republicans are mad that he "wasted" a month on this and didn't get anything else done is laughable, because him not starting any other problems isn't a waste lol.

Chuck Todd just said on the NBC Sunday morning show that he also thinks there will not be another government shutdown. The Republicans have no appetite for a repeat. Todd thinks legislation will be passed to prevent any government shutdown in the future. You-know-who could still declare a national emergency and get wall money that way; but again, that would open the door for a future Democratic president to do the same thing for global warming, gun control, you name it, the prospect of which would shiver conservatives' timber.

Who would have imagined we'd ever be grateful that at least he didn't start an additional fiasco?! What a mess we've allowed to happen by putting this "thing" in the WH.
lani, I hope Chuck Todd is right about legislation to prevent ANY president from instigating a government shutdown. Whatever the negotiations are about, they should be able to negotiate with the government fully functioning and not holding it and its workers hostage. I would be all for that no matter which side proposed it, and I would hope that it would pass with bi-partisan support.
I watched an interview with Meghan McCain yesterday afternoon. I don't necessarily agree with her politics, but I do admire the way she stands up and speaks her mind. She surprised me by talking about how highly she regards Joe Biden. She stopped short of saying she would support a bid for president from him, but she did say she would give it serious consideration and not rule it out. I keep thinking that Uncle Joe's time has gone, but then I keep hearing from people in their 30s and 40s who like him. My DD is one that would like to see him run. Maybe he has a better chance than I have given him credit for. I like him, but have just not thought he could win. MM did say that under no circumstances would she support the JA. I think she has made her feelings pretty clear about him on multiple occasions including her father's funeral. I wish she had been asked what she thinks of Lindsey Graham now, but that question didn't come up.

nashville11 , Biden and John McCain were close friends; Meghan has known him all her life. He was a rock to her and her family during McCain's illness. Also, Biden's son died from the same cancer McCain had.

Yes, lani that's right. I remember he spoke very movingly at McCain's funeral. It still surprised me, however, that as a staunch conservative she would evidently give serious consideration to supporting him if he should run. Although she has come out and said she no longer considers herself aligned with the Republican party even though she remains conservative. I like her spirit.

Just read this quip from John Kerry's speech at the Alfalfa Dinner last night in Washington, and thought it was a funny one liner.
"Donald Trump could be the first President to go to the inaugural of his successor in a limo with license plates made by his campaign manager."
