I haven't really listened to Schultz. DH said this morning, when listening to him on Morning Joe, there seemed to be a lot of "I" in his comments. He wasn't impressed with him.
What worries me, is JA trashing his Intel chiefs that testified this week. Calling them" Extremely naive & passive" & that they should "go back to school"...SERIOUSLY!...Is this not dangerous enough to seriously consider invoking the 25th amendment (?) to get this mentally incompetent dangerous JA out of the Oval Office!!!

I saw the same interview with Schultz Joyce, and wow, talk about an ego. He is a democrat. If he wants to run, why can't he just run as the centrist-democrat that he is? He says the JA is a disaster and wants to see him ousted. It's very telling then that he'd be willing to risk a catastrophic reelection by running as an independent. It's a shame anymore that the parties are viewed as their extremes - far left and far right, when they are so more nuanced than that. He must think he can get a large swath of the republican vote if he doesn't identify as a dem. It seems as dishonest as it does risky. Every historical, measurable metric indicates an independent cannot win. This was the second time I've seen him and he was notably more defensive in light of the intense push back.
It's just stunning how totally divergent the JA view is from all his intel chiefs. Extremely dangerous - are you listening Mitch?! The border with Mexico didn't even crack the top ten.

Yes, the JA refusing to listen to his intel chiefs is not just alarming but very dangerous! We've all said it before but the guy is certifiably nuts! And if we aren't very lucky he's going to have us in a disaster we can't contain before he's out of office. Republicans PLEASE wake up and do something!
I agree with Linda's DH and with Pam that Schultz seems to have an ego the size of North America, and frankly I've had all the egotistical billionaires running for office that I can take. Just look what happened to us the last time! It's not likely he's as crazy as the JA, but he sure has an ego that can compete. He did get defensive, and he had nothing concrete to offer. He just kept saying he's going to hire people smarter than he is to come up with plans. Well, if you're serious about running you should have already had those people hired and a plan figured out before making a play. Didn't we hear something from the JA about how he was going to have the "very best" people around him? We can see how that worked out.

Oh but he "drained the swamp" and turned it into an ocean.

I saw a picture of an elderly man wearing a blue cap with, "Make lying wrong again" on it.

Joyce, I swear I saw a post from you just a couple minutes ago....am I losing it!? LOL It was about SHS saying God wanted JA to be President. Maybe the cold is just downright making me see things...LOL
Anyway, I was going to answer with Franklin Grahams quote about this very thing.....
“I don’t think the president is sitting there behind the desk trying to make up lies. I don’t believe that for a second. Has he misspoken on something? Sure. All of us do that. You do it and I do it. And sometimes we get the facts wrong and we say something that later on we realize, we could’ve said it better or it was misrepresented.”
SHS and Graham must be worshipping a different God than the one I grew up with.

Are any of you planning to watch the JA's State of the Union address on Tuesday? I don't know what I'm going to do. I usually always watch the SOTU, but I don't think that I can bear to sit there and listen to this JA lie, lie, and then lie some more all between telling us how great he is. What's the point? He isn't going to give us any real information. I do, however, want to hear Stacy Abrams Democrat response.

LOL! Linda, you are not losing it. I did have a post about that and deleted it. I figured it would just fire up some of the JA supporters who I am pretty sure sometimes read here. Basically I was saying that if God chose a misogynistic, racist, hate mongering liar who puts children in cages then we must have really made God angry. I mean sure we've all heard God works in mysterious ways, but really? He's going to choose someone who goes against everything the Bible teaches us? I also asked if anyone thought SHS has any idea how idiotic she sounds.
As for Franklin Graham, I've already lost any respect I ever had for him.

DH will insist on watching the State of the Union address. I will watch it as long as I can tolerate. I will be interested on how much applause he gets from the Republicans. Remember when that guy called out "liar!" when Obama was speaking? No one bothers to call you-know-who out to his face. It's just understood that every other statement will be a lie. Maybe every statement. What a difference an election makes. I'm still hoping I'm in some kind of extended nightmare.

I will watch, only to see the reactions of the Dems in the room & how often Nancy Pelosi claps...Make no mistake, JA is going to trash everyone & everything he can. She took the higher ground & kept her promise to let him give his SOTU speech, & he will take it as low as he can go & throw it right back into her face. That's how he operates. Amoral subhuman that he is.
Really, today, he comes out now & says, call it what it is...a wall. He's the one that said call it whatever you want. He is being pushed towards a National Emergency shutdown by that little weasel Steven Miller.

No, I won't watch the State of the Union. First, I cannot stand to listen (or watch) Trump. Second, I generally don't watch them.

I shouldn't watch, but, it's like a moth to a flame sometimes. I can't help myself.
Lani, probably every word at this point. If you find this is a nightmare, wake me up too.

I'll probably end up being like lani, and watch until I can't stand anymore. It will be interesting to see the reaction of the Republicans. If they all go wild over it, then there's no hope of them ever coming around. In the commentaries we keep hearing that maybe a portion of Republicans are starting to grow a backbone and stand up for what is right and true. I want to believe that, but I don't. Maybe we'll get some clues about how true or not that is from their response Tuesday night. The fact that right now he is being shut out of the bi-partisan discussions on how to keep the government up and running is a good sign, but we've been burned too many times now to trust it. I agree with Linda that there is a very good chance he will try to call a national emergency, but I don't think the courts will let him get away with that (wishful thinking again), and once again he'll end up showing the world just what he is--a lying failure.

For the first time in my adult life, I won't be watching the SOTU. I just know I'd be embarrassed and heartsick to watch 538 members of congress sitting uncomfortably, enduring his word salad topped with Steve Miller diatribe. And, all while continuing to allow this incompetent and dangerous fool to remain in office. No thanks.

"Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell faced backlash from Democrats for calling their House bill a "power grab" as it included a provision to make Election Day a federal holiday, among other changes. The sweeping legislation HR 1, or what Democrats are calling the "For the People Act," would also require presidential candidates to release their tax returns, adds a matching system for small donations, requires super PACs to disclose their donors who give more than $10,000, and prohibits voter purging."
Gee what a power grab! Imagine making it easier for people to vote, making presidential candidates release their tax returns so we know who they are beholden to, requiring proper accounting for campaign donations, and preventing voters from being kicked off voter rolls. The nerve of Democrats to actually want to see democracy at work! You can bet good 'ole Mitch is going to work hard to prevent that from ever happening.
