Hello Everyone - Hope you've enjoyed the weekend DotRen - Congratulations to your son with his new job. I hope the experience he gets there will help him to move on to something else. I think a lot of us have started in jobs that weren't the most convenient, etc., to get the experience to move ahead. Is the job market tight for teachers? I think it's terrible how little they are paid, considering how important the job is. You are a good Mom to make his lunch sunrose - Hope you and the dog had a good walk I had a terrible day yesterday food wise and other wise too. I'm having some personal problems and it's tough to eat right. Today was better - had vegetables, fruits, and dairy. I'm getting in my steps too. Take care everyone!

The market is pretty good locally, but he does not have a degree or certification. He has a BA in mathematics and i'm not sure why he is thinking he can become a teacher just through experience, unless he's talking to a private school. cj59, sorry you're having personal problems, I hope they remedy soon.

Good morning
wwlurker, good to see you. I hope you feel 100% soon. I hear you on the cardio. I need to do the same myself. I didn't know you were a vegetarian. So far, so good.
DotRen, congrats to your son. So nice of you to prep food for him.
cj59, I hope things get better soon for you. It is hard to eat right when things are stressing us.
Headed out at 9;00 for a walk with my friend. Should be an easy 4 miles. Eating is ok, I could be better. Had a .4 loss at WW yesterday. Not much, but I'll take it.

Hello Everyone sunrose - Congratulations on the loss! It's a great thing right after the holidays. DotRen - I'm glad to hear the job market is good where you are. Hopefully this job will lead to him eventually getting a more permanent job. I've almost used up all the junk food in the house and I'm getting scared I won't be able to get back on track. When I have the junk food in the house, it's like a safety net to have something to deal with my emotions. When there is none, I get anxious unless I'm really feeling strong and on track. Hopefully that strong feeling will come back and I can avoid bringing anymore junk food into the house. Hope everyone checking in is doing well.

Hi everyone!
I haven't been doing the best. I am tracking but I'm over for the week already and it's only day 5. I had a bad day 1, where I didn't eat much all day and then went to the movies twice. I ended up overeating that night because I had a minuscule lunch, lots of movie snacks and no supper. Then, last night, I was just in a peckish mood. I ended up overeating, basically just because I wanted to. I'm not sure, but it may have had to do with the fact that I had a lot of sugar. I had some cookies as an afternoon snack and then I had some sour gummy worms and a peanut butter cup as an after dinner snack. After that, I had a bagel with butter, which is what really did me in!
I'm going to try to keep the damage to a minimum for the rest of the week. I'm just disappointed because I feel like I've been working hard. On top of all of that, I was up 2.2 pounds last week even though I stayed within my points. So that started me off on a sour note.
Thanks for listening everyone!

Hello Everyone wwlurker - It's just so hard, isn't it? I get so frustrated remembering how dedicated I was to staying on track, and then now I'm so out of control. We just have to keep plugging along and do the best we can. I hope you can get the program to work for you, being aware is half the battle. As an indicator of how I'm doing, I made a one pan cake today In my defense ( ), I had 3 eggs left in the house. I only eat eggs in baked goods, so I had to make the cake that used 2 eggs and I will have to make something else that uses one egg. Then all the eggs will be gone and I won't bring them back in the house again I'm doing the Beck Diet Solution review again over on the GDT board, so I'm hoping that will get me back on track. I did good incorporating the skills I learned from that and need to get back to them. I also have most of the junk food gone from the house now and I've stocked up all the food I need for healthy eating and my plan (pretty much calorie counting), so I'm not going to have any excuses for getting back to healthy eating soon. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hi all,
I was wrong - yesterday was day 4, not day 5 for me. And I went over again yesterday. Again, I just wanted more to eat. I'm trying not to beat myself up too much but it would be easier if I wasn't up from last week. I'm still waiting to see if I can minimize the damage and not go over by a ridiculous amount this week. I figure that I've spent so long not restricting at all that it's going to take me a bit of time to scale down my eating. I just want to eat normal amounts. I'm still eating much healthier than I have been.
I think that I would like to do the BDS as well, but I can never coordinate to start from the beginning. I have no desire to read the book again, but I think that participating in the discussions would be helpful.
I need to think of this as a long term thing. I need to figure out a way to manage this for the rest of my life that doesn't involve gaining/losing large amounts all of the time.

Good morning! wwlurker , if you figure that last part out, you'll be a billionaire cj59 , DotRen , sunrose49 , wwlurker , hope everyone is having a good day so far. So son is taking his lunches, but they do not let the staff use the refrigerator (afraid of cross contamination - really?) anyway... I found a site that has a lot of cold lunch ideas No sandwich lunch ideas since he doesn't like sandwiches (unless it's subway, jimmyjohns, etc) and he doesn't like tuna salad. He's not a picky eater over all, he's always willing to try new foods (unlike his dad who acts like a toddler about it lol)but he does have very specific dislikes, so not having access to a fridge or microwave makes it a little tough. I'm still nursing a multi-day-headache. We've had weird weather fronts, and that usually causes these (pollens and stuff). It's not awful, but it comes and goes. bleh. CJ I'm usually better off not having stuff I shouldn't eat on hand, too. It's a lot easier to say no when the item of interest requires a trip to the store lol.

Good afternoon
wwlurker, hang in there. At least you are tracking what you eat. Keep doing that. I don't know about the Beck Diet.
cj59, I can't keep stuff in the house I'll eat up. My triggers are wheat things, chips, swiss cheese, etc. You'll get it back again.
dotren, gee no refrigerator! There are bags that you can put a frozen thing it to keep the lunch cool. When I worked the refrigerators got pretty nasty. We finally put up a schedule of who what going to clean the stuff up. It worked pretty good.
I did a nice hike yesterday and got my 4 mile walk in today. It was so cold and windy today. Took me a couple hours to warm back up.

Hello Everyone wwlurker - They only just started the BDS review over on the GDT boards, so you might like to check in there and just read the comments from the posters in each thread. I did learn a lot of good habits from the program and hope I can start working them in my life again. The things you are struggling with are very similar to my things, wish us both luck. DotRen - I used to take my lunch to work in one of those small insulated softside bags and I would put two small ice packs in with the food. My food was always still cold by lunchtime. Hope you get things worked out with your son's lunches. Like sunrose said, the fridge at my old job was nasty, so I was happy not to use it. sunrose - How nice that you got a hike in, is that with the group you said you were joining? I bet it was invigorating to be outside in the fresh air and hopefully on a pretty path. There's nothing good to say about my eating right now, so I'm not saying anything at all

Good morning
cj59, I might check out the board you told wwlurker about. My eating is still not the best. It's hard to get that click for me. Once I do I am golden. It's just been too many years not.
Waving to all
Calling for snow here this weekend.

Hello Everyone sunrose - Hope you don't get too much snow so you can get out and walk. You might like the Beck Diet Solution. It does help us to change some "bad" habits and how we think about eating and weight loss. I've read that many people need to go through the process multiple times for it to all stick. I've done one full review and then a half one and I'm trying another full review again. I just need to ingrain more good habits in my life regarding food and eating. There's nothing good to say about my eating yet. I'm still tracking though and trying for a fruit, vegetable and dairy serving each day. And I'm getting in my steps. So it's not a total lost cause Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good morning
cj, yep you are not a total loss! You are still doing some good things (more than me I have to say). I almost ordered the Beck book yesterday. Still thinking about it.
waving to all.
I think where I live we will be missing the big inches. Around 4 I think. But I will get out with Maddie for a walk before it begins.

sunrose - maybe reading the reviews for the book on Amazon will help, or checking out some of the older threads on the book. I know they do a review on this board too. Hope you were able to get out for your walk. I'm trying to do some healthier eating and I did a 45 minute walk today. I've let myself get out of shape again, so I'll have to build my endurance back up. Hope everyone checking in is doing well
