DS PR did not get his hearing tested==says he will sometime. Yeah sure. DDIL is wearing loaner h. Aides and cannot believe how loud DS is talking now that she can hear better—and he is still pacing—the only time I have seen him use a chair since getting here Thurs afternoon was at dinner tonight at the pizza place—I swear he is going to ruin the new rug! Last night I asked him not to pace on it and now he is again—just reminded him—he’s just a mess.
They fired some of my pieces so have a few things I can try glazing now—three little dishes I threw together just for that purpose. Took my new piece down to dry on the shelf—showed my teacher and he liked it. Tomorrow I have class in the morning.

Hi!
Cruise over! Now the long trek home. We fly out from Dubai tonight at 11:30 PM, so we are in a hotel for the day, just relaxing. We have been to Dubai a few times before so don't feel the need to see anything in particular. It's been a great trip, and again, have met so many new people and exchanged email addresses.
Joan, so sorry your DS is having all these medical issues! Hopefully he will take a hearing test soon. Wow, all those allergies! Do you take magnesium pills? Wonder if I should try it for lowering BP
Jojo, hope your cold is gone by now.
Holly, we have a reservation for another cruise in January 2020, that one is 78 days, yikes! We already know a bunch of people who are on parts of it.
We did stop in a couple places in Vietnam, in one we went to an amazing cave in Halong Bay, and another a very quaint town called Hoi An. Cochin in India was charming, alot of Christian and European influence, they have 95% literacy rate, amazing! The parts of Mumbai we went to were really nice. It was a Sunday so very minimal congestion, cars or people. I'm sure there are parts very poor and dirty.
Great trip, I'm missing the ship already. One young female server gave me a huge hug said she would miss me and asked who would pour me my champagne? Really, the staff is wonderful on these ships. A couple of them remember us from previous trips. There are 5 ships on this line and they move the staff around between them.

Welcome to dry land again, Sue! Maybe SO will just decide to live on a ship—I’ve heard that there are people who do that. I’m glad you made it with no negative incidents. The caves in Vietnam that you saw are on my list of hope to do’’s some day—saw pictures of them!
I am taking the magnesium—started at 250 each evening—am up to three pills now—one in the morning and two in the evening—750 all together. I was so shocked that it had the effect of lowering the BP. My BP is doing really well on that half dose—sometimes a bit too low. So yesterday DS started—he needs to see a doctor tho—last night he was 144 over 99. He is so hyper—I really think he could benefit from Ritalin! The pacing is so hard to watch—
in clay class yesterday we made these chunky looking salt cellers or condiment servers—with spoons—they are cute—made from a solid ball of clay then you hollow out and the top of the clay becomes a lid that fits perfectly—you “lighten” it up by knife cutting wedges and chunks out of the clay on the outside giving it a sort of rocky look. They were fun to make—would make a cute gift with a specialized salt or a homemade jam or specialized mustard or something.
DS and DDIL want to go out for breakfast at 8:30 but they are still in bed—hmm—they plan to load up and leave from there—do not see that happening at this point. They buy lots of stuff while here as their little mid NV town has next to nothing. They drive their truck down to haul stuff back in.
Made dinner for all last night inc. DD and DGS15–had a few very small filets and two pounds of large wild caught shrimp—white and sweet potatoes, green beans, sauteed mushrooms and a nice salad. Had bought a loaf of parbaked sourdough and they all loved it—Biggest dinner I’ve made since Christmas. My shrimp was so darn good—I let it soak in some avocado oil and lots of chopped fresh garlic and parsley for two hours and then grilled it—OMG was so good. It was on sale for only $9 a # and I am going back to get some more today.
I am still off all those foods—have not lost any weight which is sort of weird—I am going to do a cleanse that she suggested—have to get the book to follow it’s guidelines today—it is not a chemical thing—just a combination of foods that is supposed to cleanse the liver for better digestion and metabolism. I guess it starts and ends days with lemon and water so bought a bunch of lemons. Once they leave this morning I can read and prepare for that. The whole family had ice cream last night and I watched them eat that bread—evidentally getting off the bread and sugar this many days has managed my addiction as I was not at all tempted to join in—did eat a purple sweet potato—which tasted so, so sweet—no butter and really didn’t care to have any. I have found some sheep’s milk yogurt and with lots of berries I am fine with it so that helps as I miss my greek yogurt and cottage cheese—wish I had a Cottage cheese alternative.

Think I am getting sick—-noooo—-not before I have book club and have to fly—OMG—so frustrated—just really feel tired and throat is sort of sore—dry cough and headache—all day and last night. So bummed. Really don’t want to travel but don’t think I can get out of going. Ugh!

Hope all are well. So much pollen here. We’ve at least had some more sunny days for once.
Thanks, Joan!
I’ve always been an old soul. I think my physical age is starting to catch up with my mental age, haha.
I’m so ready for this semester to be over. Just a few more weeks, then I get several weeks off before starting my first summer class.

Yikes, what happened to my long post I wrote yesterday! It is so tiresome to have to do it again! I never can remember all I wrote.
Joan sorry about you getting sick . I can empathize but mine is all resolved now - just allergies. Holly I wished you happy birthday on FB but not sure you saw it. Happy belated birthday now - many blessings your way!
Welcome home Sue. Always good to have you safely home!
DGD13 is in the hospital again- she is suicidal. My heart is breaking for her. DDIL is at wits end with her. This is the 3rd time in hospital . She has also been through the out pt. Day program. Keep her in your prayers!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Jo Anne. I’m so sorry about your DGD. I will keep you all in my prayers.
I’m hoping to get to the Farmer’s Market this weekend, but it looks like it’s going to rain. So much pollen everywhere!
We get Friday and Monday around Easter off. It will be good to have a little break before the end of the semester. I am working second shift one night.

I am in Florida—unfortunately I think the atmosphere is worse for my asthma—took a breathing treatment in the airport sittting on the floor while DH waited in line at Budget car rental. Then took one just now and honestly this time I hardly can tell I took one—hate this. I could never live here—I remember in my twenties here coughing so hard I would gag—
We met up with my cousin and her daughter—accidentally ate dinner within half a block of each other—for us it was first food since breakfast at the airport—I was so hungry but got full so fast—had falafel and hummus and I think the high fiber of it just fills you up without needing a lot. Then my cousins neice and nephew from Montana and Arizona came and joined us. Tomorrow one more neice coming in. My cousin is doing well but I think she is not totally dealing with this yet.
JoAnne, I did not know that DGD13 was having suicidal thoughts—oh my—I am so sad to hear that—so many teens are struggling. You all must be so worried.
DH hurt his back before we came—lifted his router to put it away—I have predicted this would happen—it did really scare him—I put tens unit on several times in a row and rubbed the knotted muscle down with arnica and iced him—but he’s so stubborn—as soon as it feels better he wants no more —so instead of doing more to insure he doesn’t spasm up again, he quits taking care—now tonight decided not to take his advil—refused to not lift suitcases—ugh! Men are their own worst enemies!
Tomorrow service is at 10 am—then reception at Cousins home—Saturday is her birthday so I hope to find a little gift shop and find a little something.

Hi all—we are waiting on the phone for SW Airlines—hoping to change and get a flight home tonight or tomorrow—I have been so sick and asthma is so bad—4 nebulizer treatments yesterday. Now DH is getting this—I can tell he is feeling the way I felt on Monday and Tuesday—said he didn’t sleep most of the night. Our friends in Deland will not be happy but honestly this is miserable—the air outside seems to make me so much worse—I would have been in ER without my machine!
My cousin has been so upbeat—wondered if she was in denial about her husband passing or what—we had a chance to talk a bit privately last night—asked her a few questions and then she said that the past few months were so bad because her DH became so angry and sort of mean spirited that she was fearful this was going to go on and on for months and wondered how she would cope—so in a sense she is feeling relief that he only had this level of problem for a few months because she felt rather badly treated in spite of being his full time caretaker as he could not dress himself any more even. She said he never wanted to have any compromised health and she thinks it just made him angry to be alive.
I know he was rather a controlling person anyway—and he had pulled away from socializing the past few years—only tagged along with her but she is a very social active person so it hasn’t been easy for a while. He was 79.
So many people here this morning are leaving on cruises. We are having birthday lunch for my cousin at 1:30–need to go find a birthday card when off this phone.

Managed to get home on Sunday—skipped seeing our friends in Deland, Florida. I am still not well but the asthma is controllable with an inhaler here—could breathe better in the Lyft car on the way home—however, DH is in the worst of it—he’s gone to quick care now—couldnt get in with his dr. He feels as tho it’s gone into his sinus now—I don’t seem to get the sinus thing. I am still coughing but not deep, lose your breath coughing. Have taken a Benadryl the last two nights to make sure I am sleeping—slept ten hrs yesterday and 9 1/2 today!
Went to the studio and picked up a ton of things that were bisque fired yesterday. Made a little bowl last night here with some scrap clay—will start painting (underglazing) my lady bottle today.
It’s spring break here—assuming you are off, Holly?
Yesterday it rained all afternoon—today it’s windy. My big iris are open so of course the wind is whipping the heck out of them.
I have stuck to my eating restrictions—finally saw a change—down 4 pounds—that means I’m back to only 2 pounds above the LT goal they had set for me—but I think it’s too high honestly for my shrinking heighth.
Made scallops the other night—love them so much but not DH’s fav so I seldom make them. In Florida I ate wild shrimp every meal we ate out; Here in our restaurants very seldom can you get wild—I only buy them that way and make for myself.
Hope you all are well.
JoAnne, how is DGD13??

Hi all,
We have today and Monday off. I need to get caught up with grading and work for my graduate class. The final project is a 10-15 page paper.
I’ve gained some weight all over. None of my clothes fit right. I do feel hungrier - may be my medicine. Trying to do as much walking and bike as I can.

Hi!
I've been busy since coming home. The trip home was horrible, we were delayed sitting in the plane for 4 hours, then we missed our connecting flight and had to wait from 9am to 4:30pm for the next available flight from Toronto to Philly. It took 2 hours just to get new boarding tickets. At least we were able to sit in the business lounge.
Jojo, so sad about your DGD, hope she can get some good therapy. It seems young people are having more problems these days than when I was younger.
Belated happy birthday, Holly! Enjoy your days off. How many years will it take for you to get your new degree?
Joan, glad you are feeling better. It's horrible to be sick and in a plane. Great that you lost weight finally!
Well, back to reality. I had to deal with taxes, then we went to my cousin's wedding in Brooklyn last weekend. It was great to see my extended family. Funny, at the hotel we ran into one of SO's co-workers from when he was in New Haven. The guy is now in North Carolina. Small world.
We also switched to a new person to help my mom take care of my dad. The original woman didn't work out well, she was always late and my mom didn't really trust her. My mom immediately liked the new girl.
Also back to volunteering as well.
I gained most back what I lost prior to the trip, still a couple pounds less. I exercised the entire time while away, maybe missed 4 days at most. I think I eat fewer carbs when on the cruise. Eating multiple courses for dinner provides variety and I feel sated without needing carbs.
Hope everyone is enjoying Easter weekend!

Had a great visit with my sister in NC. She had a lovely “high tea” for her granddaughter graduating from Wake Forest. It was really lots of fun. She had about 30 classmates attend. As well as her Aunts , geart Aunts, cousins and her mom. It was at Gralon , a mansion owned by the college. My sister did a wonderful job making it a lot of fun.
Easter was a great celebration for all my family. Wonderful church service , dinner , and fun with the family! Hope your day was good too!
I spent 2 days getting the yard cleaned up for our family celebration of Easter on returning from NC. Still have lots more I can do with the yard though. Bought some new patio furniture to have when the family is here. I love sitting outside in the Spring and Fall.
I had Bridge tonight at my neighbor’s house. While I was there, DH went to the gym. Said he wasn’t able to do much but it was his first time in years. Probably better that he starts back slowly.
I spent all day today pulling weeds and putting pine straw out. Still have more to do.
Joan. - so sorry that you have been so sick. Spring pollen is terrible in the Southeast .my asthma has been bad too but nothing like yours.

Sue good that you are able to lose before you go on your cruises so that you can enjoy eating without worrying about it.
Holly- why do you think you gained your wt. back?
I have stayed pretty stable in my wt lately. But need to get back to exercise to tone up. I notice “looseness “ in my And thighs particularly. Maybe all the yard work will help some..
