I really like Joe Biden and think he'd make a great president. Look at him. He even looks presidential. I like Harris too, but I'm a little concerned about too quick. Although, I never heard of the guy who gave the keynote speech at the 2004 DNC. Who is this guy? What's his name? Barack? What the hell kind of name is Barack? Damn, he's good! Good looking too.

It will be interesting to see how many peeps show up for Beto's Rally this evening in El Paso. I hear someone raised enough money from GO Fund Me & more to send Baby Trump blimp to El Paso for the dueling rallies. Just once, please, just once, I hope JA has a really crappy rally with very low turnout...LOL...but I won't hold my breath.
Also, read, that the chickens are coming home to roost for many middle class taxpayers because of JA & GOP tax cut. Many are getting way less in refunds or actually having to pay in for the first time ever. Was wondering Joyce, what you think since you did tax returns for others in the past, right?

Linda, I haven't talked to any of my tax preparer friends but from experience in the past I would say some people are going to be very upset at getting back a smaller refund. Unfortunately, they may not equate that with voting for Trump. It's amazing how little some people understand about their taxes and how they are equated to the tax laws passed. Many of them seem to think of the IRS as a totally separate identity, and some of them even blame the person preparing their taxes. Prior to tax season I saw people commenting about the bigger standard deduction being wonderful. Well, it is a lot bigger. What they didn't seem to realize was that in order to get that bigger standard deduction they were having to give up their personal and dependent exemptions. Last year the standard deduction for MFJ was only $12,700 but personal/dependent exemptions were $4,050 so for a husband/wife/2 kids it came out to a deduction of $28,900 and if there were more than 2 kids it was even higher. This year all you can get is the standard deduction which is $24,000 MFJ. Nice for couples with no dependents, but not helping out families where the help really needs to be. " I hope JA has a really crappy rally with very low turnout..." LOL Linda! Me too! But, if not one single person showed up at the rally, you know we would still hear "It was the BIGGEST attendance at a rally ever! It was BIGLY! It was HUGEEEEEE! Fake News that no one showed up! All those photos are Fake News!" LOL!

I'm not sure I fully understand the issue going on about Rep. Omar's tweets. Maybe that's because I live in an area of the country that for the most part is pretty homogeneous when it comes to religion. I would not have recognized what I have read she tweeted as being anti-semitic. Did those of you living in other parts of the country recognize it as such? Do you think it was? Maybe she said more than the little I read. Am I living in a bubble where I can recognize a racist comment in a heartbeat, but not so clearly recognize a bigoted comment on religion? By the way, I also had to look up what a "trope" was. One thing about our current political climate, it's broadening my vocabulary.

Omar's one comment "It's all about the Benjamins baby" basically summed up her ongoing tweets suggesting certain members of congress were being influenced by donations form Jewish groups. I'm glad she apologized.
I'll be honest, I'm over some of the newest members of the house continually stepping in it. While I admire their energy, I wish they would spend more time learning their brand new jobs, and less time shooting off their mouths, becoming negative distractions.

Speaking of taxes.. with all the adult children that live with their parent, and basically the parents support them! I don't know why "we" can't claim them, seriously. doordie50, yes! These people are still nobodies, have done nothing "for the people" except make the show of getting elected, and now it looks like their only real skill is to make noise and try to stay on top of the "media game". Ugh, just do your job instead and make your name doing what you were elected to do.

Absolutely I agree about these new members of Congress. Nancy is going to have her hands full with them. Fresh ideas are good, but several of them are not going about it in the right way, IMO. I am afraid they are going to turn a lot of voters off with their approach. Pam, thanks for the Omar info. I am glad she apologized also. DotRen, adult children can be claimed as a dependent if you can show that you are providing more than 1/2 of their support. If they are also working, however, that becomes hard to do.

As often as he does it, which is daily, this JA's penchant for lying never ceases to astonish me. But what is even more astonishing is his supporters who can't help but know he is lying and still pretend they believe him while asking for more lies. Once again we get the lies about crowd size at his rallies. He lies and says the Fire Department gave him special permission to cram 10,000 people into a place that only holds 6,500. The Fire Department comes out with a statement saying they did NOT give permission and that his crowd inside did NOT exceed 6,500. Yet, his sheep like followers don't care because they're too busy still chanting "lock her up!" (Really, they need to learn a new chant! I suggest, "2,4,6,8 JA is a lying snake.") And he tells the people at his rally that Beto had about 15 people when the official estimates on Beto's crowd size are around 8,000.
He also says he didn't want to bother hearing the details about the possible bi-partisan agreement that has been negotiated, because 1) he has to get out there on the stage to his people; and 2) it doesn't matter because he's going to build the wall anyway and that in fact it has already started being built which is another lie that his followers just swallow down with the Kool-Aid.
What makes people so willingly gullible and just plain stupid? It really just baffles me. Those idiotic followers deserve exactly what they are getting from him, but the rest of us do not.

nashville11 , I see people that i've known for most of my life say "all politicians lie" - as an excuse for his constant b.s. . When I ask them "so, you wouldn't have a problem with your child or grandchild lying to you on a daily basis?" , the answer is always "no", so I ask "then why would you think it was acceptable for an adult?" - no response because I'm a "liberal" lol...

LOL! Those silly liberals DotRen, always thinking people should tell the truth. At some point, all politicians probably do lie. Sometimes it's intentional, sometimes it's because circumstances change, but this JA is a pathological liar. He lies even when the truth would probably serve him better. He ENJOYS lying, and it makes him feel powerful to see these people who are falling at his feet in adulation accepting all his lies when they know they are lies. There must be some psychological reason why they do this, why they are willing to be the butt of a huge joke told by a mentally deranged "Emperor With No Clothes".

Oh agreed, they lie to get elected, they just say they're "campaign promises", but they're lies pure and simple.
