Good morning
cj59, thanks so much for sharing your feelings with us. I remember being in the losing phase before making LT. It was such a high to lose and have people notice. All the rewards at WW, all the compliments, all the new clothes, on and on. But then when I hit LT all that seemed to go away it felt weird. I guess that sounds self centered, but it was a real adjustment for me. So I too have been on that roller coaster all these years.
I lost 2.4 at my meeting yesterday. I felt so pumped and hope to keep it going.
Waving to all

Hello All! DotRen , So many good things! Doggy is losing weight, son is cutting down on the junk, new farmers markets (even if the weather isn't cooperating). What are you going to do after you're done curing all the world's ills? sunrose49 , Thank you for your words of encouragement and sharing your experience. I know losing is a temporary high and I don't want to be blindsided. Congratulations on your weight loss! cj59 , This is crazy! In a good way! I'm so moved by you sharing your struggles with me. I want my expectations to be realistic, last time I was still 20 lbs from goal and I was eating progresso soups every day in the summer to force the points down, which wasn't realistic or sustainable. I think it's taken me so long to get back on track because I look at how it was at the "end" and I don't want to go back to that. How do you assess realistic? Realistic eating, realistic exercise, realistic weight? You all are helping me soooooooooo much! I cannot thank you enough! I'm down 2.8 this week, which I can barely believe, and I am riding this high of success for as long as I can. I even exercised today! With a weight machine! My thighs are not pleased my pants will be. lol I hope you're all having a beautiful day!

Hello Everyone - Hope we are all ready for another successful week
sunrose - Congratulations on the loss, I know you can keep going strong. I completely get what you are saying about how you felt after making Lifetime. I felt like that too, it was such a big let down, because everyone makes such a big deal when we lose weight.
And then I also add in the pressure that I don't want people to see me gain weight back. Now that I've done that, I'm actually avoiding going to the dentist for a cleaning until I lose more weight - because he just went on and on after I lost the weight and how great it was. So when I gain back the weight I just perpetuate the feelings of failure that I've had to deal with most of my life. I hate it that society only sees us as successful when we've lost weight.
irisinnia - Congratulations on your loss, and good for you on the exercise. I understand how you had those eating problems the last time, I dealt with that too. I hope that you can find a better path this time.
Unfortunately I'm already falling back into some of my disordered eating. I started this thing where I would wait to see how long I could wait into the day to eat. Sometimes I don't eat anything until noon or 1 PM. and then I stop all my eating by 7:30. So I'm only eating less than 8 hours a day so it pushes all my food into that short time and it just feels like I'm eating all the time. I can't even figure out how to get back to eating breakfast then not eating until lunch, then not eating until dinner. It's like that part of my thought process is just broke.
Thanks for letting me share these thoughts, it really helps to know others go through some of the same things I'm going through. We often feel like we're the only ones.
Hope everyone else checking in is doing well.

Good morning
irisinnia, great loss!! So happy we are helping you--as you are helping us.
cj59, I know exactly how you feel about not want to see people. I have avoided seeing old work friends because of how big I have gotten. Hang in there. I think it will always be a roller coaster for us, but what matters is that we keep trying.
Waving to all. I have decided not to weigh myself until Friday morning. I usually weigh twice a day. I just need to break that cycle and see if that helps me. Was really low on my steps yesterday. I did get out for a mini walk with my dog (in the rain--it was just a drizzle). I will try to get out this afternoon too (in the rain). Such crazy weather we are having.

Good morning! irisinnia , nice loss for the week lol'ing about the thighs, I 'feel' your pain! cj59 , intermittent fasting can really increase feelings that your eating is out of control during that "window". But keep in mind it is really important that you get enough calories and don't under eat (well, at least not consistently -now and then is ok). Once the gheralin(sp?)is activated, your appetite can be almost zero, so it can be hard to get enough calories. sunrose49 , here, too. 40 degree high Fri and Sat, almost 80 again now. My poor azalea bush has 2 flowers on it and the others are like "not yet!" lol We have 2 big old magnolia trees in the front yard and they have several cones starting to "seed" on them already. If you've never seen a magnolia "cone" (like a pine cone but really big and the seeds are red) they are really odd looking lol. Of course google has an image: magnolia coneThey fall in the yard and driveway and mowing over them is a chore because they're very dense. Even driving over them, feels like you're running over boulders.

Hello Everyone sunrose - Hope you can get out and walk. I get obsessive with the scale too now. The first couple of years I was losing weight (the last time), I did really well with only weighing once a week. Then when I got to my goal weight it all went crazy DotRen - thanks for that information on the hunger hormone. I read some about it and I think that this is starting to affect me. I need to get back on a more normal schedule of eating. It's all extremes with me - overeating/bingeing or eating too little food We used to have lots of azaleas in the yard, but as parts of them died off, we cut them all down. That was interesting about the magnolia cone too. When I was working some years ago part of my job required me to go to the Pentagon every so often (I was working in Northern Virginia then). The Pentagon is 5 stories high and it has a middle courtyard where they have many magnolia trees growing. I would love to have to go there when they were in bloom because they were as tall as the 5th floor with flowers that were the size of dinner plates. I would always take time to just stand at the window and marvel at them. Hope everyone is doing well on their plans and having a good day.

They are beautiful in bloom. Ours has a citrus scent, more like a lemony bergamont, it's wonderful except the bees love it, too lol. That's a good thing , but they make me nervous! We had to have a huge hive removed from our garage wall a few years ago, they moved right in!

Hello! cj59 , Thank you! I'm happy that better habits are being put in place and trying not to bring the unhealthy patterns back along with them is a bit of a challenge, but I'll give it a go! I'm sorry that you're struggling right now. I want to say, don't be afraid to go get that cleaning! But I feel the same way every time I think of going to an event where I haven't seen people in awhile. What a beautiful story about the magnolia trees, I feel like I was there! sunrose49 , Thank you! I stick to weighing once a week when losing. I only weighed myself a lot when the number was motivating. Like Onederland! The weather is a big drain on the outdoor activity. I'm trying to focus on my indoor activity. DotRen , Thank you! I loved the link to the Magnolia pine cone. lol I have a regular pine tree in my front yard, but I don't think ours are such a nuisance when it comes to mowing and driving. They just get smooshed. Today was the highest I've eaten since getting back on track, but I decided to loosen up with some cereal and fast food. Yup, that'll do it! So that means I'm meticulously planning tomorrow so that I can get back in my lane, so to speak. At my current calorie/point allowance, it's not that hard. However, I was thinking about bingeing, intermittent fasting, and the like, and I wonder if anyone has experienced certain eating tendencies getting worse as you successfully diet? For example, I started actively seeking out sweeter treats when I was losing last time, because I wanted to get more of that sugar "kick" for the points, whereas before, I would go a long time without desserts because I was happy munching on things like chocolate chip granola bars, fig newtons, and yoplait whips. But when I started restricting my snacks... things got crazy! Good luck everyone, on your weight loss journeys!

Good morning
cj59, I went to the Pentagon once. Huge! I mostly worked in D.C. over the years.
dotren, your Magnolia tress sound lovely. I don't think I have ever seen their cones.
irisinnia, I've always been all over the place with my eating in the past. I'm either all in or all out. I personally am not good at fasting.
I caved and weighed myself this morning. OMG scale is up again.
I did do a 1 mile WATP yesterday. I think there will be no rain today so I can get out for a walk.

irisinnia, I do think that the more we focus on food, the more we tend to get OCD about it lol. I'm low-carb, and I saw a post on facebook about cheetos puffs being 13g carbs for 42 puffs, but I know me- I love those things and I would eat an entire bag. sunrose49, maybe it's the time of year making it harder to stay on plan? cj59, wow that sounds lovely! My trees are probably around 100 years old (the house was built in '42 and these trees were probably planted then) and they have to be trimmed at least yearly because they climb into the electrical lines lol. So I guess maybe 30 feet tall? I love them because they are very leaf heavy and provide a lot of shade.

On a whim, I ordered a food sensitivity test from groupon that used a hair sample. The results: high response to: Radish (?? who the heck is allergic to radishes?!) Coconut Red Dye #40 Sulfur Dioxide
Moderate response to: Milk (Cow) Lemon (really?!) Crab Walnut Monkfish Redcurrent (red currants maybe?) Bird's Eye Chiles Hake
I got a laugh out of that, but I'm annoyed about the radishes and lemon lol! So I'll cut out the top ones for 2 weeks and see what happens, but I'm thinking this is probably not terribly accurate.

Hello Everyone irisinnia - I think the first time I really let myself eat a high calorie treat I did go a bit crazy, it was like I'd been deprived for so long! And I had been eating things that had sugar in them, but not the really fatty high calorie stuff - which is mostly what I crave. Hope you were able to get right back on track today. sunrose - Try not to let the number on the scale bother you. I have not mastered treating the scale as just something to help me gauge things, I always treat it like success/failure. Hopefully you do better at that. DotRen- That's interesting about the food sensitivities. Makes me wonder if I have some, but maybe don't eat that food ever. I don't like radishes How neat to have trees that over 100 years old. We have a few old trees in our yard, but probably only around 60 years old for the oldest. I'm staying on track, but I just don't feel motivated to be on a food plan and do all the things required that go along with that. I don't want to quit though because I saw how much I gained over those 4 months I was off track. I'm going out tomorrow for errands and I'm really scared to be around all the food temptations (fast food, grocery store, other). I just hate it that I let food have this much control in my life - that's something I know I need to work on. I know I could get a fast food lunch and fit it into my week, but I worry it will set me off for overeating. I guess the only good thing is that there is not much in the house I'd want to overeat Hope anyone else checking in is doing well on their plan.

Good mornig
dotren, interesting about the food. I love Groupon. I did a DNA on my dog. She is a mix and was surprised as to what mixes she is.
cj59, good luck on your errands today. It is hard I know, but stay strong.
I made some veggie soup the other day and it was pretty yummy. The scale was down a little. Stopped weighing at night and will only do so in the morning. I need to look at it was one feedback.
I do not measure myself. Does anyone else do that?

Cj good luck on the errands:) I know I can NOT go to any stores for the next 3 days because of all the marked down valentine candy lol. Seriously, my "jr horder" genes kick in because you can freeze it!
Sunrose I've had hit and miss experiences with groupon. I did get this interesting little machine that I love, but forget to use. Basically you sit in a chair, put your feet on it and it vibrates/jiggles. It's great for lower leg circulation. We did the dna thing, too. Murray is mostly Lab, but has Old English Sheepdog, Great Dane, some kind of hound(very evident in his face, he doesn't have the typical blocky face that a Lab has) and a couple of other large breeds in him. Guessing his daddy was a travelling salesman lol.
Oh speaking about the allergy thing, I am surprised that red dye is on there and not blue. If I drink anything with blue dye, I get a really bad bladder response (pain, having to urinate every 2 seconds, etc). Technically it's not an infection, just an irritation, but it's severe and pretty immediate. I have to take the super strength Azo and drink straight cranberry concentrate to get rid of it.

Hello Everyone
sunrose - I used to measure myself the first day of every month and write it down. I haven't done that as much in the last few years, except when I was my smallest in 2017, since I was so excited to see the low numbers. I think it is a good indicator of how we're doing, especially when the scale isn't showing a loss.
DotRen - There was a lot of candy in the front of the stores, as well as flowers and other gifts. I was surprised to see so many guys and moms with kids buying Valentine's Day things. I guess I don't go in the store very often on this holiday.
It's interesting that both of you did a DNA test on your dogs. I would want to do that too if I had a mixed breed.
I did survive the store and didn't buy any candy, and it's Valentine's Day so I'm sad about that
But at least I didn't buy a bunch of junk and stuck to buying foods on my plan. I also bought some chicken nuggets at Chick-Fil-A and I'll chop them up to put in a salad. They are pretty low point for me and the salad is filling.
I figure if I can just keeping sticking to my plan each day eventually it will become habit for me again and I won't be fighting against it all the time.
Hope everyone is doing well on their plans.
