Good morning
dotren, interesting regarding your dog. I always thought mine was a Lab Mix--nope she is: American Staffordshire Terrier, Golden Retriever, Australian Shepherd and a larger percentage of Herding, sporting and Terrier. I think her daddy must of traveled a lot too...lol
cj59, I think I might take my measurements. Just for a "before" and "after" account. Great job navigating the grocery store!!
I would not be really tempted on the sale of Valentines candy as I would be with Easter candy. I love jellybeans and some of the chocolate stuff.
I had fun with my friend last night. I love talking to her. The dogs played nicely together. I had hummus/carrots/celery/cheese/crackers and wine. So not too bad. I am going on a hike this morning. Looking forward to that.
Waving to all and wishing you all a great Friday.

Hello and good morning! sunrose49, You're speaking my language with Easter candy. Cadbury eggs... they're my absolute favorite! Now you and DotRen, are making me want to get a DNA test for my dogs! They're rescues so I have no idea what they are, but we've been calling them a Pomeranian Mix and a Dachshund mix. Great job with your snacking and exercise plans! Keep up the good work! cj59, Great job surviving the grocery store! And I think sticking to the plan is an excellent goal. I'm thinking I'll measure myself too, that sounds like a brilliant idea. I haven't done it in a long time and I don't even remember the numbers. It might be a good motivation. DotRen, Hoarding food is challenging. I would always buy extra girl scout cookies because you could freeze them (supposedly, they never made it to the freezing part). I hope you can stay away from the candy! This week has been tough because DH is on a work trip. 24-hour little ones is wearing me out and I made some poor snacking decisions yesterday. But I preplanned breakfast and lunch so the day wasn't a disaster. I'm glad DH is coming home today though. Also, you should see the candy haul my son got for Valentine's day. It's like Halloween! I haven't touched any of it and I do not plan to. Keep up the good work! And have a Fantastic Friday!

Hello Everyone sunrose - Hope you enjoyed your hike this morning. irisinnia - I'm glad your DH is coming home today, hope that makes things easier for you. Good for you staying away from the Valentine's Day candy. I'm always amazed at how much food is associated with so many of the holidays we have. It's no wonder it's so difficult to avoid junk foods. I guess I'm doing alright. I haven't overeaten and I'm following the Beck practices everyday, but I just don't feel like I'm motivated to want to stay on track. I guess it's good thing there isn't any junk food in the house, because I'm not tempted to overeat what is here. Maybe once I see some weight loss progress, or my clothes feeling looser, I'll start to be more into things. Hope everyone else checking in is doing well and that everyone has a great weekend!

Good morning
irisinnia, the DNA for my dog was fun. I got it from Groupon (Wisdom Panel) on Cyber Monday. WTG staying away from the candy!!
cj59, I need to keep reading the Beck book. I have not gotten to the practices yet. Food is associated with so many things.
Waving to all
The hike yesterday was fun, but challenging for me. I have never done good with inclines due to my years of smoking (I quit in 1996). Plus I am so over weight that didn't help either. I'll keep at it though.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well and enjoying your weekend sunrose - I admire you for taking up the hiking and keeping up with it. I'm sure it's a pleasure to get out and enjoy nature. I'm still on track with my eating. I didn't get in as many steps today, but I was working on my house. I took on a major decluttering project back in January and I try to work on it every day. The good thing about that is that it does keep me too occupied to eat sometimes.

Hi!
My name is Ray, but you can call me Lorelei. I have quite a bit of weight I need to lose, and I really want to be successful this time. My friends suggest weight loss surgery but I don't want to go that route unless I really have to. There are a lot of people that weight loss surgery is for, my mother included (she lost 300+ pounds and is doing amazing). But I feel like, in my case, it would be the lazy way out (I don't think I'd qualify, anyway). I'm perfectly capable of doing this myself. I don't have any medical conditions holding me back. I'm capable of doing physical activity. I'm well versed in nutrition and how to eat properly. I just have some mental block that won't allow me to follow through with my plans. It's like my brain says "be lazy!" and I'm like "alright". Once I push past that tiny little issue, I think I'll be facing the right direction to find my ultimate road to success. Hopefully I can make some friends in the process.

Good morning
cj59, great idea on doing decluttering daily. I might start doing that. I was for a bit, but got away from it.
Lorelei, welcome. This group is so supportive. We know what it is like to struggle with weight loss/food. Several of the ladies here recommended "The Beck Diet Solution." So I bought it and started reading it. I have not started the practices yet. I also had a friend suggest the surgery. It's not for me. I know I can do this it I work at it.
Waving to all
Off to my WW meeting. Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Hello Everyone
Lorelei - Welcome to the thread, there are some wonderfully supportive people here.
I agree with sunrose that you might like to read or get involved in a Beck Diet Solution group. I know there is one on this board and I think they have reviews of the book a few times a year. You sound like you know how and what to eat and to get in exercise, but it's a "mind" thing that is holding you back. All the Beck practices focus on changing that and breaking through.
I've done 2 Beck review and a lot of the good practices have stuck with me.
sunrose - Hope you enjoyed your meeting today. In my decluttering today I found over 100 old music cassette tapes!
DotRen - Hi, hope you're doing well.
Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans and had a great weekend.
I bought some Girl Scout Cookies today, but I know the points value and I'm tracking what I eat. I also put several boxes in the freezer, so that way I can take out just a few at a time. I think I was being too strict with not allowing myself any "treats", so I'm hoping I can control my eating of these. So far, so good
I've made it through 2 weeks now without any overeating/bingeing, so I hope to keep going.

Good morning
cj59, I think I am going to go straight to the practices in the book. I am having a hard time sticking to the beginning of the book. Wow that is a lot of music tapes! I know I have a bunch too.
Waving to all. Need to get my exercise in. I'll try to cbl.

So I think I'll definitely read that. Funny thing, I actually posted in the BBR thread not realizing what it was. Ha ha! But looking at it now I see they're doing another review on the 24th, so I'm going to read a bit (or all of it) prior to that and see what I think. Thanks for the suggestion! Girl Scout Cookies are the devil. The most delicious devil. Especially when they're frozen.

Good morning! DH was off 4 days and son has had a cold for all 4 days, so I've been busy. Amazing how a 62 year old man becomes 12 when son is getting more attention than he is /annoyed. Lorelei, I agree about the GS cookies lol. I tried the GS cookie teas and they're not bad, but they're not "the real thing". The Bigelow Caramel & Coconut is really good. cj59, doing well, as I hope you are:) Ate too much with both "babies" home for days lol. irisinnia, v-day candy is out of the house here! Son brought home a lot from work, including a dozen "2 bite brownies" (I had more than 2 bites lol). He got me this big ferrero rocher sampler and I had 1 of each flavor. Thankfully they are not my favorite chocolate, so it was easy to say that was enough. sunrose49, morning and hope all is well with you

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today I've been doing pretty well. I lost a pound last week, so that's something. I think I might be eating too little (not using my weekly points), so I'm going to try to use some of them this week. It's too bad losing the weight isn't as quick as gaining it was, but we all know about that, right I did go out today and didn't stop at fast food, so that's a success for me. I can get a lot more food for the points eating at home.

DotRen, I had no clue they made teas! Tea is my thing. I love everything tea. Hot, cold, unsweetened, sweet, cream, no cream, loose, bagged..... I have my favorites, of course, but I'm down to try anything new. I'm going to have to keep an eye out for those. My current go-to is vanilla chai with almond joy creamer. I'm going to have to try the caramel and coconut tea with the almond joy creamer. Give it that little extra coconut boost. And yes, men can be quite childish when they're sick or feeling ignored. Bunch of babies. sunrose49, Fingers crossed it works for me. I'm willing to try anything at this point. cj59, Congrats on passing the fast food! I know sometimes its super hard for me, as well. I just think "I can make better at home" and that gets me through. Sometimes. Ha ha!
