Son is feeling better, he made a full day of work yesterday. Murrays skin is doing well. He has 2 small yeast spots and I had a brain-storm and used some Zymox ear enzymes on them, and they're almost gone in 2 days. Since it treats yeast in the ears, I figured why not. I've also increased his probiotics in his breakfast to try and get him cleared up without medications. It's rainy and chilly here, supposed to rain pretty much for the next 4-5 days, so his 2x a week bath may be put off to 1x a week this week until the rain stops. He loves to go play in the rain and get muddy. I had a great on-plan day yesterday! Hope you are all well

Good morning It is snowing like crazy here. Then sleet and then rain dotren, glad your son is feeling better and your dog's leg is clearing up. cj59, congrats on losing a pound!! I know it comes off slow/on fast. Lorelei, I'm with you I'm willing to try anything. Got lots of steps in yesterday. I love when I can walk on the towpath. Since it is snowing here all steps will be inside.

Hello Everyone Lorelei - I like tea too, but I mostly just prefer black teas (like English Breakfast). There sure are a lot of different blends though. DotRen - I'm glad to hear your DS and your dog are both doing better. And yeah! for the on plan day yesterday, hope today was good too. sunrose - Goof for you getting lots of steps in yesterday, hope you can get some today too. I'm staying on track. It's funny because I don't have this strong feeling like I'm motivated, but I also don't have a strong feeling to stop eating well. I don't think I've ever felt like this, it was usually strongly on track or way off track I did get a dedicated 45 minute walk in today, I'd been slacking on that. I still get my steps in, but I just do small intervals of walking and I wonder if that really doesn't help me burn calories since my heart rate probably doesn't have long enough to get higher. Hope everyone else checking in is doing well.

Good morning cj59, that sounds like a good feeling you have. Good for you getting in a 45 minute walk. Waving to all I was off on my eating and steps yesterday. I am going to get some index cards today and write on them the "advantages of losing weight" from the Beck book. It says to read them daily for the rest of your life. Wish me luck! I know the advantages, but reading daily...

Good morning! Did well yesterday but I did have a handful of kettle corn - DH always brings something home when I'm doing well it seems /annoyed. I am only annoyed because it wasn't home-made tamales lol.
Hope you all have a great day!

Hello Everyone sunrose - That's a good idea to write up an Advantages Response Card. I keep mine by my computer and read it every morning. I've found that I've had to rewrite them at times too when the reasons just weren't working for me anymore. DotRen - Too bad you didn't get the home-made tamales I'm sticking to my plan and continuing on the Beck review on another board. I bought some Girl Scout cookies last weekend and put several boxes in the freezer right away and I've been portioning out the others having 1 or 2 each day. They don't nearly as good as they did years ago, so I'm not tempted to sit and eat the whole box. But it's a treat to have a few at a time. And with the frozen ones, I can just pull a few from the box and not have the whole box out. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans

Good morning
dotren, too funny on what your husband brought home. My DSon does the same thing sometimes.
cj59, That's a good idea to put the card by the computer. I have done up 3 so far to put in different places. I even put it as a daily reminder on my phone.
Waving to all
Met step goal yesterday. Will do the same today.

Hello and good morning! DH came home...and then he had to go on another trip. He usually doesn't do back to back trips like that so my routines didn't survive the second week. But he got home last night so hooray! And now I'd like to lose some weight. lol Luckily I have good timing because the Beck Review is starting soon! Today's goal: Make a plan then track it. Oh and step goal. I want to be cool like sunrose49 . sunrose49 , Congrats on your step goal! Putting a reminder on your phone is smart. I'm going to have to try that. It only takes like a minute to read them, so...why don't I do it? cj59 , It's really easy to eat an entire box of girl scout cookies. There's only like 15 in some of the boxes. lol But it sounds like you're doing so good! I think it's fascinating that you are in this middle ground between "Yes! On track!" and "No! Off track!". It sounds like that would be the best place to be from a psychological standpoint. Do you think there was something that caused the shift? DotRen , Homemade tamales are the best! I can't believe how many people you are taking care of (Murray is included in my 'people' definition). I'm so happy you're taking care of yourself too, because sounds like you are the MVP. At least this week for sure! Lorelei , Sorry I missed your arrival! Welcome! I'm very proud of you for not going the surgery route. I have a few people in my family who have and while one of them did very well, the others struggled a lot and one of them gained a lot back. I'm happy for your mom's success and I know that she will be happy for you when you find the same success without the surgery! I am so ready to get this weight off. It has hindered the things I want to do long enough. Good luck to you all on your weight loss journeys!

Hello Everyone sunrose - that's a good plan to keep the cards around the house. I know reading mine reminds me of all the reasons I need to lose weight and keep it off. Hope they will well for you. irisinnia - Hope you will enjoy the Beck review - have you done one before? I'm on my second full one, in between the two reviews I went to a thread to post my daily credits, so it kept me involved. It's too bad we have to put so much energy into weight loss, but learning the good skills will hopefully help us take it off and keep it off. I've been very busy at home working on decluttering my house and that has really helped me stay on track with my eating. It's pretty difficult to sit around eating when I'm so busy. Maybe that's why I kind of feel like I'm just in the middle with how I feel about my eating right now. I'm not overeating, but I'm not really putting much effort into worrying about it. I'm glad I'm so busy right now since I needed the distraction to get back on track. I do feel better eating good food and not all that junk. Hope everyone else checking in is doing well on their plans and that you all have a great weekend!

Good morning
irisinnia, you are too funny. I try to get the steps in. Yesterday I lost so many steps by my fitbit shutting down and I didn't know it. Glad your DH is home now.
cj59, that does help to keep busy. I too wish it wasn't so hard to lose weight.
Waving to all
Headed to the towpath for a 4 mile walk this morning and then this afternoon with my neighbor for a doggie walk.

Hi sunrose - Hope you enjoyed you walks today I did another 45 minute walk today, I hope I can focus on doing those every day. I know I'm not getting as good a workout when I just walk over 10000 steps a day. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans

cj59, I have done a Beck Review before, but I frequently fall off the wagon mid-review. lol I'm hoping I can stick with it this time! Great job on getting your walking in and keeping busy! Sounds like it's doing wonders for you! sunrose49, I hate it when my fitbit does that! I see you are still doing sensational with your walking! Have fun with the doggies on the doggie walk! I have nothing to report. Except that I looked into Noom and have a new-found dislike for any weight loss program that demonizes certain foods. So happy that I have other options! I'm looking at a few other apps right now since my membership was up so why not see if there's something better out there? I'll probably just go with the same one though.

irisinnia - I agree with you that programs that have "good" and "bad" foods just doesn't work for me. There are a lot of foods that I just won't choose to eat because they are so high in points/calories. But knowing I could have them if I wanted doesn't make me put that "bad" label on them. Hope you an find an app that works for you. I'm doing well and sticking to my plan. I'm hoping to make it through this next week and that will give me all of February without any overeating. I really needed to break the cycle I had been in for those 4 months I was off track. I was getting a little frustrated at how slow I'm losing the weight that I regained so easily But I know it will take time and I thought I should just break down the pounds into 5 pound loss goals and that might help. I know that's something that's always been suggested on WW and other plans. As far as weight loss goes I'm better off not looking at the big picture! Hope everyone else is doing well today and had a great weekend

Good morning! irisinnia, I looked at noom a few months ago and it's way too expensive for just basically "coaching" and calorie restriction. cj59, good news about sticking to plan! Cheers sunrose49, 4 mile walk? Was it fun? I avoided temptation this weekend pretty well, I did have about 6 potato chips last night without thinking about it, but otherwise did well. The temptation: I called in a pickup for my groceries instead of facing off against the girls scouts at every store entrance lol. I watched a lot of people avoiding eye contact with them lol. I know they depend on the cookie drive, I just wish they could make somewhat better (healthier) choices. I tried the newer ones last year and was unimpressed. When I was a girl scout, we could take donations instead of someone buying cookies, but apparently that's not allowed any longer?
