Happy Day All!
Lin – you wore me out again with all your yard work.
I did get the pictures off the top of the desk and down from the walls where they’ll be working. Still have a small glass shelf on one wall with little treasures on it. Trying to decide what to do with it. Other than that, I watched tv all day from the recliner. Was kinda nice.
Today is probably more of the same, I think. Am going to make salmon for supper, so need to make sure I have all the stuff. It’s a honey-garlic-butter recipe you do in foil in the oven. Really good and it’s been a long time since I’ve made it. I think Lin is inspiring me a bit.
No Super Bowl for us. Being a military family, DH hasn’t watch NFL since all the kneeling started. It’s a shame about all that, but everyone has a choice. I hope all of you watching have a great time!
I may not start tomorrow or Tuesday due to dr appointments. And, we're hoping to leave early Wednesday. Fingers crossed to do so, because that means all is okay with vascular doc AND we get to get out of here. Will keep you posted.
That’s about it for me today. Still kind of blah, but okay. Wondering if we'll hear from contractor today.
Make your day a good one.

Good Morning All
Penny - I've had the blahs for a couple days too. Glad you had a day to relax.
Don't watch Super Bowl cause I'm just not into football. Will go online tomorrow to find the new Clydesdale commercial. Love those.
No plans today as usual. Everyone have a Super Sunday.

Good morning Penny & ATF,
Sunny and currently 33; the high will be 47.....wow a heat wave!
Today Ed will join me to visit with TJ and family. He hasn't been there for a while between work and being sick. TJ will be happy to see uncle Ed.
Guess I'll be joining the rest of the country watching the Super Bowl tonight. I really don't care who wins...they are not my favorite teams. Both teams, I believe, have records to break. Tom Brady being a quarterback in his 40's and I'm not sure about this but the most Super Bowl wins. The Rams quarterback is the youngest one and their coach is also very young. So good luck to both teams and I hope it's an exciting game. Sorry Penny & Art....I love my country but nothing else on TV.
Have a great day everyone!

I know, Penny, but I don't like to offend anyone; especially my friends.

Good morning friends. DH says he won't watch the super bowl either but may change his mind by that time. I'm not in to football at all. Think those guys make way too much money for playing a game.
Made pancakes for breakfast. Tasted so good.
Very foggy here. Suppose to rain later and then turn to sleet/snow. We have appts tomorrow afternoon but hope roads are all cleared by then.
Turkey breast thawing for supper.
Peggy Sue, hope your blahs are not so blah today. bettyj

Morning All!
I think we have the nicest people here! Emily doesn’t want to offend anyone by watching her all-time favorite sport on TV. Penny and Art are individually voicing their political beliefs without yelling, screaming or thinking negatively about anybody. I feel so very fortunate to be part of a group that is willing to disagree so amicably. Sorry to say I won’t be watching the super bowl, but not for any personal or political reason. I’m with Peggy Sue – it’s just not fun to watch. As she said, the good commercials will show up tomorrow on the various news sites and talk shows, so I will get my fill of those if I want.
Penny I am glad you had a do nothing, down time kind of day yesterday. You need those every once in a while. I would like that salmon recipe if you can find the time though….. Hope all goes well with the doctor’s appointment this week.
Betty funny you should mention pancakes. Cousin and I were talking about them last night. I said can't remember the last time I ate them. He said he would make them for me. I appreciated the offer, but told him I didn't have the ingredients - maybe some other time. His cooking skills are a bit iffy, so hopefully I can put him off awhile. When I mentioned I had no milk (lactose sensitive), he said that it was OK, he could make them with the coffee creamer...….
Cousin arrived last night and is out on the slopes this morning. Big difference in temps from last week to this week. Glad for him.
It’s Sunday, so that means its wash day. While that’s going on, I think I’m going to try my hand at making a chair. I think I have everything I need, if not I will improvise. I took a pot roast out of the freezer Friday and am going to get that going in the crock pot in a few minutes. I don’t think cousin likes that, so I will make up freezer bags when I feel the urge to eat beef.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Dayle - You don't have to wait for news or talk shows to see those Super Bowl commercials. You can just google 2019 Super Bowl Commercials tomorrow and see any or all of them.

Good morning everyone,
Wow! We had such a rain storm. DD got here ok from Vegas but she said it was scary. We had no roof leaks. We did have water back up on side of the house due to landscape drains not draining fast enough. It was pouring hard. It's raining right now and will most of today but not as hard as yesterday.
Going to my sisters for a super bowl party. Will be fun. I don't care about the game, like commercials and half time. Visiting with the people is always fun.
Interesting twist woth DD#2. She met a man she likes. They have had 2 dates. Will be interesting to see how this goes. She normally dumps them within a few dates. He seems to be going in wrong direction hovering a little. Texting her a lot. She is not impressed with that at all. If he was smart would not come on so strong in the beginning. That definitely turns her off.
DD#1 was here last night also. Was a fun day and we all had dinner together. I cooked manicotti.
Penny- glad doctor visits are coming to a end and you will be able to go back to the cabin.
Lin- I did prune roses. You got a lot done.
After this rain will rake up a few leaves in backyard. In February we will have the huge shrubs along fence line across back and street side trimmed down to 7'. They are about 11 feet high right now. Have him take out the inside fence plants on street side. About 50 feet of greenery. We will then replant new shrubs that won't shed as many leaves. Keeping the outside of fence plants to preserve privacy and those do not shed as much. Across the back of yard keeping the slope plants but having them all trimmed. Back area is 54' wide.
Its sad the yard will not look super good until new plants grow to full height. That will take a couple years. But in the long run will be better than now. They shed leaves a lot and will be nice to not have this issue all the time. The carrot wood tree is a messy tree but it is huge and beautiful so we will keep it. If that's the only area to keep leaves under control won't be as bad as also the side area dropping leaves.
Trying to make backyard lower maintance than right now. The front is easy. Want backyard that way also. The 35 flowering low growing shrubs through the backyard main yard are easy to maintain. Very little pruining or not at all.

If I could send a picture from my phone, that is what my neighbor's tree looks like today, with the bright sun shining and the snow so white, the shadows are really interesting. It is in the high 40's today and may make 50's yet today.
My DGS#1 has been a Rams fan for years, when they were losing all the time so yep today though I am not watching the game will be hoping they win, he would be dancing all over the place if they do. I did send him a text a bit go --- GO RAMS!! I am the only one to ever get him anything Rams for Christmas present. Afraid the rest of the family are Steeler fans or the other big losing team Browns. will be reading my book.
thinking I need a new battery, car starting a bit sluggish. Will check with DSIL. don't want to get stranded somewhere tomorrow.

I guess my message went away when my phone died!
hb hasn't watched football for three years. It began with the kneeling, but I think now it's about loss of cognitive abilities. However, he is going to watch the game today.
This morning hb fell forward out of bed and hit his forehead. Aside from a lump, he seems to be okay.
A little snow is falling, and our temperature are headed for single digits for a few days.
